It's interesting that the matinee was cancelled as I was actually at the theatre yesterday asking a question at the box office at about 1:15pm and I heard no discussion amongst the staff about the performance being cancelled.
The security was all set up, ready to go.
On the way to theatre Jack Wolfe and a female walked right past me and there was a lady outside the theatre getting an signed autograph from Carolyn Maitland who was arriving.

Here's a clip of Jeremy performing as Seymour on The View.
Just look at his facial expressions!

Apparently when screening the pilot episode it was when Eddie was introduced and the polar opposite reactions from both Fraiser and Marty Crane that sold it to the network.
Two completely useless, yet interesting facts about Peri Gilpin.
Fact 1- When assembling the cast for the original series, all were in place except the actress to play Roz Doyle, Frasier's friend and radio producer.
It came down to Lisa Kudrow and Peri Gilpin and Peri just had that extra edge that the the casting agents felt the character required. Whilst loosing out on this job, things worked out okay for Lisa Kudrow because she not long after got cast in the role of Phebe in Friends; and look how long and for how many series both Friends and Frasier ran for.
Fact 2- The other interesting thing about Peri Gilpin that I learnt only this morning is that the actor who played Chief Brody's youngest son in Jaws 2, was her actual younger brother in real life..
Next time you go to a local quiz night and the ask what's the connection between Jaw and Frasier, there's your answer!

I've not seen the stage sow, not the film so I'm not in a position to comment as to how good or bad it is but by going from the above, it doesn't sound too good.
I guess time will tell but maybe it was one of this situations where it seemed like a really good idea at the time but looking back in hindsight, a couple of years later, maybe not so.

Just caught this on catch up.
Yep, completely bonkers but that Jane isn't it?
No matter what it is, she throws herself wholeheartedly in.
And the fact that she's self depreciating is one of the reasons that she appeals to so many.
She's warm hearted, a good soul.
Couldn't help but notice the number of westerners around her in the background.

I terms of merchandise, personally I found it easier to purchase before the show and take it in with you, rather than later when everyone is on a high and still buzzing and then I observed whilst you're in the queue, please are trying to leave the venue. Alternatively, anything they're selling at the venue merchandise wise may be ordered online from the official ABBA Voyage website.

Or maybe nobody should bother, and just leave it as an entertaining read and ok film. Ok film? OK FILM? ONLY OK? ? ? Sorry BurlyBeaR. I too thought it was an okay film and in truth, in therms of the film (unless I'm missing something) am wondering what the fuss is about? I've seen the film (at least) twice. I agree it's a stellar cast and no disrespect to Meryl's performance but it's a bit, meh... for me.

I remember seeing this in the West End. What a curious beast this was.
We didn't even get to see inside the factory till the beginning of the second act. And when they went into the Chocolate Room it was like 'is that it?' I don't even remember Augustus Gloop being sucked up from the chocolate river up the pipe.
The only thing I remember about the Ommpa Loompa's was when they were dressed as squirrels as Verruca Salt fell down the bad nut shoot.
I have a vague memory of the little black girl playing Violet's costume puffing up with air and being rolled off stage.
Overall, disappointing.

From what I've read, Frasier left Seattle and is now back in Boston and focuses on his relationship with his son Ferry, who is now grown up and became a fireman.
No Marty Crane- Frasier's father- the actor who played him passed away.
No Daphne and Niles- both actors passed on the opportunity to be in it. Presumably both character still happily married back in Seattle.
However the only character from the original series who will return infrequently is Roz, Fraiser's friend and radio producer. Oh and his ex-wife, Lilith.
Apparently will be screened on Paramount Plus, before, I'm assuming, being screen on terrestrial television in time. Not sure when.
I don't have Paramount Plus however will be interested to see if the writing and comedy is up to the same standard.

Not to mention that elaborate set inside Norma's mansion.
The production has not long opened when we first arrived in London backpacking. My best friend had seen the film, but I hadn't and this was my first exposure to not only the story, but of a West End musical- we went on to see several other shows on that trip.
I am from Sydney and (at the time) the Victoria Premiere had flown across for opening night to try and secure the transfer right to Melbourne- whenever you mention Australia, apart from the kangaroos) the first thing people think of is either the Sydney Harbour Bridge or the Opera House- unless you have relatives in other states. There has always been, and probably always will be, rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne, in lieu of those landmarks, Melbourne is the cultural capital of Australia- but I digress.
I even remember when I arrived back home after that trip, we had a TV show- not too dissimilar to Noel's House Party- who made the trip to London, with the (male) presenter walking down Norma's grand staircase, waving like The Queen and so blown away by the opulence of the set were they that they actually presented the whole show from the theatre, on the stage.

Correct me I'm wrong but was he not in Death Takes a Holiday a few years back at The Charring Cross Theatre.
If it was and it's who I am thinking of, he had a wonderful voice!

You know the irony of this show is that in a horrified tone of voice Benny from ABBA questioned "Did they think we looked like drag queens?" and here it happening in this show, but just not in the traditional way that you expected.

I saw him at the Almeida in 1996 when he was touring his Oscar and Steve album and enjoyed it very much indeed. Clearly the voice is unusual but if you like that, I'm sure he'll do a great show. I have just googled the 1996 reviews and there is a mixed one from Edward Seckerson in the Independent if you want another view. I loved his albums from the 90s - I'd recommend Experiment if you don't know his work. I too saw that concert. That was when I was living here on my two-year work visa. I remember it was a weekend and we were queuing fir tickets and he walked right past us to get into the theatre to get ready- eeek!

No, weather was great Excellent! I only ask because I'm within walking distance of Regents Park and I went to bed early last night and when I did, had to close the window because of the gale that was blowing outside!
