Saw this and night and... wow!
I kinda went in blind.
Yest I have the CD but the songs come on as individuals on a random shuffle playlist so, I have never heard the whole score through so didn't really now the story, other than the basics and that Cassie Levy had flown in from America to perform in this.
A very workable, simple yet effective set.
Strong performances all round in terms of acting and vocals.
It was interesting to wee that as the wife slowly started to heal, then the husband started to decline. Also the parallels between what both the mother and daughter going through.
And the reveal half way through the first act- no spoilers- I couldn't see if I tried.
This may seem a silly thing to say but what struck me the most was the standard of this production- as referred to above, the acting, the vocals, the set, the costumes and the orchestra.
With The Little Big Things and now this, who could have predicted when I woke on Monday morning what an emotionally draining week this would be theatrewise?
Quite frankly, I don't know how much more I can take! London musical theatre- you're killing me!

I don’t get what the problem is? It has a different cast so it’s inherently different. I’m sure anyone that was really wanting to see the original concert did so either in person, or watched the tv broadcast. Speaking of which, anyone her or know anything about this being released to purchase?

I've got 'The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie', but can't find the film of 'The Exterminating Angel' anywhere. I've seen the Thomas Ades opera though, and loved it. I bought mine second hand on ebay. Im old and have a dvd player! I too have a DVD player that I use regularly.

It’s bloody brilliant! Never heard of Henry Fraser- I don’t follow sports of any kind- but it’s extremely moving! Don’t you start blubbing young Anthony!! 🤣😢🤣 I have to admit, I was tearing up a little! Now, give me a cast recording!

Watched Episode 2 of Jane in Japan.
Classic Jane impressed with the view of Mount Fuji from her hotel window, plants rice, a bullet train and she get's naked.
Also tries authentic green tea and some other alcoholic beverage- sakki, I believe- and is impressed by a robot who not only knows who she is, buy can give here interesting facts about her home town of Wakefield.

Took advantage of the National Cinema Day, paying £3 and have just come back from seeing this.
It's fun- not the best thing I've ever seen but there were some humorous moments.
It's kinda mockumentary.
Ben Platt with all of his tick and quirks had some funny dialogue in one scene he's in.
All of those kids- even at such a young age- are all primadonnas/divas and the teachers so self absorbed.
The final scenes are very funny.
BTW the full beard suits Ben Platt but the hairy shoulders.🤮

For anyone interested there will be an ABBA Fan Event where ABBA-The Movie will be screened in cinemas September 17 & 19 September. www.abbathemovie.com/home/The plotline of the movie itself is very thin and it's a mockumentary kinda of film and it includes that famous line from Agnetha "How can I comment on my sexy bottom, when I've never actually seen it?" However it perfectly captures a little slice of Australia and the time and the mass hysteria of ABBA mania. Even though I was only 7 at the time and too young to attend the washed out open-aired Sydney concert, in my own little way, I was part of the hysteria. (Personally) I think this is where Agnetha's mental health issues started. Fact: Despite being on the other side of the world, no other country took to ABBA like Australia. So much so, that the spent 56 hours (at the time) to travel from Stockholm to Sydney. Fernando spent 14 weeks at No.1- even by today's standards, that's phenomenal!

As this just keeps going On and On and On it sounds like ABBA and the production team are asking the audience to Take A Chance On Me- see what I did there?

For anyone interested, there is an interesting documentary about Alison Bechdel and how Fun Home came to be.
This documentary also give a bit of a background on Alison's father.
Co-incidentally, the actress playing older Alison herself was a lesbian and all three Alison's in the show were nominated for a Tony Award.
For the eagle eyed amongst you out there, the character of Alison in the show can be seen in the Sunday sequence in the recent Tick...Tic...Boom! movie.

Went in completely blind, which I prefer to do, with no idea of the content, themes or anything other than the name and poster art. It absolutely blew me away! I too went i completely blind and like you was (simply) blown away when it played here in London. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

I loved the Broadway production and saw it three times. Judy Kuhn singing Days and Days broke my heart. Powerful stuff!
