Guys, TELL me we're not going to start complaining about the lack of ice castle in *this* thread as well, especially as the show's still a good 18 months off! I think considering the set is very disappointing - especially during LIG we can. The plot music and performances are great but the show was average for me. Baemax is right, we had about 20 odd pages on the Broadway thread about the lack of ice castle. Who knows, maybe it will happen? But can we leave this debate until much nearer the time?

What's onstage have released their usual Dream Casting. Some of them are... choices. Richard Fleeshman – Kristoff Jennifer Saunders - Oaken Ashley Zhangazha – Hans Natalie McQueen - Elsa Julie Atherton - Olaf Zubin Varla – Duke of Weselton Alexia Khadime - Anna Simon Lipkin – Sven Hell yes to Natalie McQueen as Elsa!! That would be amazing! Could definitely see Simon and Richard too. I haven't quite decided who I would like to see as Anna yet though...probably someone a little younger than Patti Murin though, although she does a great job on Broadway.

Reading alot of these posts thinking 'who?'. Funny how peoples interpretation of the word famous differs. Michael Crawford as Phantom would be number 1 - never going to happen. Words cannot describe the bubbles of emotion and anticipation that fluttered inside when he walked on stage during the Phantom 30th Anniversary finale. Still fuming I didn't get the chance to see Glenn Close as Norma Desmond at the 2016 ENO production of Blvd, so shes on the list, hopefully this movie will go some way in consolation. Not possible now, but I'd have loved to see Tim Curry take Frank'n'Furter to the stage. This is one of the reasons why I like threads like this - it lets people discover actors they may have perhaps not heard of before or familiar with. Ah, the legendary Glenn Close! I never saw her in Boulevard either but heard she was stunning.

Watch me get called out as a shameless Amy Ross fan. I know! We also have a shameless Anton Zetterholm fan in our midst! Is there a @teamantonzetterholm?!

Harriet Jones as Christine Anton Zetterholm as Tarzan, Enjolras, Raoul and Fiyero O:) oops Tam Mutu as Javert Geronimo Rauch as Phantom Willemijn Verkaik as Elphaba Suzie Mathers as Glinda Eva Noblezada as Eponine Tanya Manalang as Kim Suzie Mathers was an adorable Glinda! Can't comment on his other roles, but did also really like Anton as Enjolras! I'm away to look him up as Tarzan...

I always find it interesting hearing other people's favourites, particularly actors in specific roles. So who has made an impression on you in a particular role? Who is that one person that you always dream cast if the show was to be revived/have a cast change? Who is the one person you beg to hear sing that iconic song again?
Here are a few of mine:
Elaine Paige as Grizabella
Donny Osmond as Joseph Linzi Hateley as The Narrator Ramin Karimloo as The Phantom Georgina Hagen as Pearl
After typing this, I realised that all of my examples are Lloyd Webber musicals!

**There is more to the Tweet above that doesn't show, click through for the whole thread**
So it seems there are a lot of people complaining since Sheridan's casting as the Narrator was announced that nobody, in their opinion, is fit for the role apart from Linzi Hateley. In my opinion, Linzi is by far one of the best Narrators for Joseph, however that doesn't mean I'll criticise the casting of Sheridan Smith. hat's more, criticise before she's even had the chance to perform!

WhatsOnStage have this listed as closing 19th October. Is this the website listing "closing dates" as when the show is currently booking to or does anyone know if this is actually due to close then? I think if they were planning to close then they’d announce it, that’s just the end of the booking period for now. I did wonder. It just seems weird that they don't list any other show like this apart from SIX, which is listed until January 2020. I think it's a little misleading.

Carly Rose Sonenclar. She was cast in Wonderland on Broadway a year prior to appearing on The X Factor but I think her voice was stunning for her age.

I'm glad someone else brought this up! I have seen School of Rock before and I have either gotten lost trying to find it or ended up going the longest route possible to get to it! No idea why I find it so difficult as I realise now that you just go along the road past Theatre Royal Drury Lane then turn left up the main street and the theatre is on the right further up!

The immersive experience?! It sounds like it is a walk-through virtual reality experience giving you the impression that you are a character within the story as it unfolds with smells, lighting and such like. It does sound intriguing.
Edit: The website states the following: Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience combines Jeff’s Musical Version, immersive theatre, virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and other cutting-edge technology; giving audiences the chance to live through the Martian invasion of 1898.
Visitors will be thrust into the heart of the story from the moment they step inside the vast 22,000-square foot multi-level site in Central London, which is being transformed for this unique Martian adventure.

I have seen other people post for Company and the Gielgud appears to use signs to tell the audience when an understudy is on. On the post I saw, it was when Patti wasn't performing, so whether or not they only do this for the leads or not I don't know.
Obviously, there will be instances where there is a cast change at the last minute due to injury/illness, but the theatres should ensure as much as possible that cast boards are accurate so the right performers get the recognition and credit they deserve and the audience receives the correct information.

Update, there is one video online of this performance, however the sound quality is not the best. Courtney is Aragon and Grace is Cleves.

Also, in case anyone is interested, the cast were just on BBC Radio 2. I missed it and have just checked to see if I can listen back to that clip however it hasn't been uploaded as of yet. Will let you know if it appears later on.

Surprised to see this is playing the Mayflower in Southampton on it's UK tour. Seems a bit ambitious If you book them early they are £25.00 I think @theatregeek62 was referring to capacity. The Mayflower seats 2,300 and the Arts seats 350.
On that note, I went and checked both the Edinburgh Playhouse and Festival theatres as they are my local theatres and SIX hasn't been announced at either as of yet. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't go into one of these though, given it's success at the Fringe. The Playhouse seems too vast for the show though, so would hope it would go into the Festival with its 1,900 off seats or even better, take one of the smaller more intimate locations used by the Fringe, such as the Pleasance spaces.

Ok, so I trawled back and there is one or two songs mentioned but couldn't find a full list. I did, however, find a list posted by Rukaya which gave the pop star inspiration behind each Queen:
Catherine of Aragon - Beyonce and Shakira Anne Boleyn - Lily Allen and Avril Lavigne Jane Seymour - Adele and Sia Anna of Cleves - Nicki Minaj and Rihanna Katherine Howard - Ariana Grande and Britney Spears Catherine Parr - Alicia Keys and Emeli Sande

With apologies to martello736 , hearing a SiX-style song in this evening's Showstopper has confirmed my decision not to see this show. Assuming they were mimicing accurately - and they usually do - then why are such unattractive accents used? How does Showstopper interpret a "SIX-Style song", given that every song in SIX is a direct parody of an existing pop-song, of various genre? Can we have all these songs listed please? I'm most interested and honestly didn't realise this! I knew that each of the Queens are based on a pop star but didn't realise this also extended to the songs too.

Laser pointers. I've seen them in Madrid. It works! That would definitely scare the living daylights out of them!

Was anyone in for the matinee yesterday and see what happened? I was - basically someone on the front row decided it would be a good idea to get their phone out and start filming during the 9 to 5 finale number. Amber, Caroline and Natalie were not impressed AT ALL (understandably!) and pointed and shook their heads at them, singling them out - they stopped pretty quickly! They were right in the middle of the front row though so there wasn't a lot the FOH staff could've easily done. Isn't it about time this disrespectful and unacceptable behaviour is stamped out once and for all? This is happening way too frequently nowadays. In this situation, when the perpetrator is not very accessible being in the front row, it's hard for the ushers to do anything, but I think people who are caught filming should be given one warning and if they continue filming be booted out the show. I wish it were easy to ban someone temporarily from theatre as punishment. Perhaps that would make audiences think again before trying to film/take photographs during a show.

I’ve seen the plans for the evacuation tunnels for Ball, Boe and Fletch at the Gielgud. Only one a night has to leave by stage door, as two specialist secret exits help the other two escape. One is underground, the other on wires a la ‘Mary Poppins’ for Balls to fly off over the rooftops of Soho to a waiting Cinderella carriage. Boe plans on just walking out the front and getting in his Cortina. Sounds about right! There will be no escape from the fangirls though who will discover the evacuation tunnel secrets after the first night then post it over all social media for everyone to see!

I am personally disappointed that they will get rid of the revolve. I was kinda hoping that the version in Gielgud will still have the revolve (wanted to say goodbye in August). Sad.
I agree! The revolve is such a unique and important part of the show and it's very effective. I was also very disappointed to hear they were removing it.

When I was 7/8, I was having a sleepover at my gran's and she had the musical Cats taped on a VHS. Around seven years later, my gran booked me tickets to see Cats at the Edinburgh Playhouse and I was hooked! Have been to see musicals ever since.

I saw this yesterday for the first time and LOVED it! The humour is great, the vocals are incredible and overall the show is just brilliant. Very clever lyrics and a unique piece of theatre. I wish I could go back and experience it all over again!

It's unfortunate that it's so vast...it's just too big for some of the speculated transfers like Anastasia and Mean Girls which would be best suited in a smaller, intimate space.
Dom, your suggestion for Starlight Express would be a dream! The Dominion would probably be a good shout for a theatre but the topic of whether it does ever get a revival in the West End keeps going hot and cold.
I'm in a little huff that Bat is closing but hey, all good things come to an end!

This was a quite year for me for shows so I'm determined to see more shows next year1 In total i saw 7 shows, all of which were in London. I do see one touring show (Six) before Christmas which will take my total to 8. Best show out of what I saw was Bat Out of Hell for sure. I gone down to London specifically to see it and re-booked to see it two nights later because I had loved it so much! The King and I was also a special show to see and Heathers was also great. No disappointments this year!
