I always find it interesting hearing other people's favourites, particularly actors in specific roles. So who has made an impression on you in a particular role? Who is that one person that you always dream cast if the show was to be revived/have a cast change? Who is the one person you beg to hear sing that iconic song again?
Here are a few of mine:
Elaine Paige as Grizabella
Donny Osmond as Joseph
Linzi Hateley as The Narrator
Ramin Karimloo as The Phantom
Georgina Hagen as Pearl
After typing this, I realised that all of my examples are Lloyd Webber musicals!

Reading alot of these posts thinking 'who?'. Funny how peoples interpretation of the word famous differs.
Michael Crawford as Phantom would be number 1 - never going to happen. Words cannot describe the bubbles of emotion and anticipation that fluttered inside when he walked on stage during the Phantom 30th Anniversary finale.
Still fuming I didn't get the chance to see Glenn Close as Norma Desmond at the 2016 ENO production of Blvd, so shes on the list, hopefully this movie will go some way in consolation.
Not possible now, but I'd have loved to see Tim Curry take Frank'n'Furter to the stage.

This is one of the reasons why I like threads like this - it lets people discover actors they may have perhaps not heard of before or familiar with. Ah, the legendary Glenn Close!
