Been to the first preview. First thoughts, but very impressed by Nicola Roberts. Theo James in good voice. Rosalie and Rebecca both fantastic in my opinion.

According to Nimax, Rosalie, Rob and Theo are in till 30 May and and Vanessa and Nicola till 25 July. And between 30 March-30 May, Rosalie won't do Monday evenings. Must say I’m surprised by this. It’s a 6month run and would’ve expected them to push through it considering they’re headlining the show. Thankfully I’m going the night after press night so hoping to catch everyone I assume Rosalie is only doing the start of the run due to family obligations with both her and Hadley being in the show. Rob I am more surprised by, unless he is u/s for Theo and will then take over the role and this is not being advertised.

Do we know if Marisha ended her contract earlier? Maybe there was a deal for her to come back to do some of the months missed.

Marcus was on tonight (Monday)...was Sam out of the show ill? Was it a scheduled absence? I’m guessing because he performed at the Evening Standard Awards last night.

Yes! He would have been excellent. What role is Rob playing in City of Angels? I saw it at the Donmar but don't think he was in it then? The part Tim Walton played I believe - can’t remember the character name.

^I think had Cats not had the runs at the Palladium in 2014 and 2015, they'd probably be demand for it. I agree, just can’t think what ALW show could go there - assuming it’s possibly an ALW as said.

Apparently rumours are swirling that this will be closing in April 2020. I've read someone say the cancelled the recent auditions for new kids. Apparently ALW will be replacing it with another of his shows. It's a great show but I wouldn't mind seeing something new. Thoughts? It's had a great run but closing rumours don't surprise me as it has been discounting a fair bit. I wonder if Cinderella might go here or if they'll replace it with something like The Boy in the Dress or a Broadway transfer like Ain't Too Proud or Hadestown. If it’s an ALW per the original post, I wonder if it will be CATS to tie in with the film.

I think it was the 30th birthday performance at Queens Alfie was a no show then too - instead sent a video message blowing snot into a hankie from bed if I remember rightly... the video was on youtube but I can't seem to find it now? Also just to say, when I saw the concert back in Sept JOJ was outstanding, one of my favourite JVJs. Alfie was JVJ on Broadway then, so some form of video message (ill or not) was inevitable

Conspiracy or not, if it was really only half an hour before the show that Neil had to bow out, then possibly Thingy was the only one not in the toilet or outside having a quick fag. So they hauled him in. Just a suggestion. There’s an article online saying Neil dropped out with 45 minutes to go, Gorka had gone out for coffee and Kevin was closest so took him.

I’m waiting for the first report of who had dance training as a child or teen. Who this year will get the full internet bile load? Saffron has said in many of her videos over the last year about going to ‘dance class’.

Indeed! I gather however that it all rests on star casting and (surprise surprise) the huge names they have offered it to, have all said no. Interesting! I have heard recently with some certainty that this is going ahead with Hadley and Tam back as Stine & Stone, is there any truth to that?? Surely Tam would stay with Moulin Rouge? I do hope this comes through, really enjoyed it when I saw it, that being the first performance (of I think three) when Caroline Sheen stepped in and played Katherine Kelly’s part with less than 24 hours notice.

Is the tour, on the Mary Poppins website the tour is described as the 'new version' and it is the 'first time the new version will be seen in London'.

So this is the touring version? Because the adverts brand it as 'The Supercalifragilistic Original'. I keep wondering this - the assumption was it's the tour but you're right with the posters. I'm fairly sure the original house no longer exists, so it'll be the touring version of that, but the rest of it maybe a hybrid of the original and tour? I mean, I'll be able to tell you exactly how it all works after first preview! Bit misleading advertising if it’s not the original that they are promoting.

Oh I've been saying Philip for a while as Fiyero! He needs his time to shine in a lead role, it's time. Or even Boq. He deserves a leading role. 😍😍 Won’t be Philip, he’s in the cast of Fiddler at the Playhouse!

Pauline Daniels playing Jessie until cast change, with Lesley Joseph taking and playing until 10 August when Ruth Madox will return. Seen online Ruth had a fall and has a broken hip/injured hip.
