Personally I’d like to see Anna O’Byrne reprise the role, and thereby see her play a larger role in London

The talk was very speculative. Stuart and Tim were saying the would like to bring it back and have another go at it in the UK, and hope they get to do that. They did say they have had offers, but Tim was adamant that nothing is concrete and nothing at all may happen

This crossed my mind. There is a line in the shown (in ‘I believe’ possibly) where Elder Price says (in reference to a past decade) ‘when God changed his mind about black people’. but....but...but....isnt that the character saying that??? it isnt the author. its satire. its that characters views on the world and we laugh at him not with him. there are racist characters in To Kill a Mockingbird, should that still be put on? That was the first line that came to mind, and I recognise your point and does make sense about the character saying. Depends I guess whether an audience is willing to acknowledge that. I do think though there has been a simplification of the issue of racism, and it’s prominence has only recently been properly highlighted and so, I can’t help but think so people will have been laughing with the character/agreeing with the character.

What about theatre shows? Can Book of Mormon come back after all this? I’d be astonished if it did. This crossed my mind. There is a line in the shown (in ‘I believe’ possibly) where Elder Price says (in reference to a past decade) ‘when God changed his mind about black people’.

When I saw this show towards the end of its rum I remember thinking that Preitt's death was one of the most dramatic I had ever seen on stage I agree, and the way the attack on the barracks/Boys of 41 was visualised on stage and DVD was particularly striking.

Really looking forward to this - good that they have got the four principals back to give some performances too.

It’s essentially the US equivalent I believe, and was done prior to the Kara Tointon version. I believe his involvement was a reality casting show for it? Do you refer to ‘How do you solve a problem like Maria’ which casted a Maria for the Palladium revival?

I think the Shaftesbury offers some of great marquees: The FHTE sign is one of my favourites.

It’s the Carrie Underwood Sound of Music this week (shown as premiering on Friday on the YouTube channel) Never heard of it. Different from the Kara Tointen thing I assume. So has this got anything to do with Andrew Lloyd Webber or has the channel moved on from him now? It’s essentially the US equivalent I believe, and was done prior to the Kara Tointon version.

I absolutely love Siobhan's version, great in my opinion. I admire that she has actually written a bit of personal reflection in the description for the video (relating to how the message of the song resonates to her personal life and health) and I felt a much greater insight into what may have been going through her mind whilst performing this. For me, this performance felt very 'real'.

I had always thought the character was late 40s, in which case I’d say Joanna Riding would be perfect. If played younger, I agree on Laura Pitt-Pulford but have to put Clare Halse in the mix too with Gemma Sutton.

Not TV, but this video is fantastic and it’s technically something to watch online

Wanted to share this:
I think this is fantastic and Siobhan’s relationship with it is very very moving.

As suggestion, could this mounted without Imelda if she is unavailable and another credible ‘name’ is cast instead, or is this a production a case of no Imelda no production?

I wonder if the Drifters Girl will be delayed a bit. Surely hard for that show to build up an advance at the moment.

Slightly off topic, but speculation in a way, are the sets just sitting in empty theatres at the moment?

I really hope City of Angels gets to do some of its run. Would be a shame after the long wait for the run not to last beyond the first weeks now.

Yes, I’m looking forward to Suzanne Shaw’s SUTBM a great deal. 😂 I heard it was Kym Marsh... She’s Violet in 9 to 5.

I am concerned we may start to get announcements of closure soon, given they have started to appear on Broadway.

They could do it as a live stream. Would be complex but definitely achievable. That way the public can still see a ‘live’ reaction from the winners. Or, they could prerecord it and have it small scale like the nomination announcement, then insert winners speeches (communicates via Skype) and just have it put online.

Should Sunday in the Park be delayed at the Savoy for logistical reasons, maybe 9 to 5 could stay open a little longer. Just a thought.

🤔 Bit confused... Where does it say City of Angels is finished for good? The most recent post on the show's twitter, posted about 4 hours ago, only mentions shows cancelled this week. It was mentioned in the original post of this thread - now removed. I was responding to that.

I’m glad I saw the first preview of City of Angels but will be gutted if it doesn’t reopen. I was so excited it was coming after seeing it at the Donmar and waiting/hoping for so long it would transfer. Was planning on booking a few trips to it. That said, at least I saw the Donmar and West End versions respectively. Massive shame for the cast/crew etc. though.

I assume the Oliviers won’t happen as scheduled. Could it be delayed, or done as an online stream with winners speeches pre-recorded?
