If it doesn't come to the North East I will be having a tantrum! Me to.

I think its shocking. At my local theatres and at the Apollo Theatre via Phone I had no problem. Sadly now I cant make London so three single tickets will be going to waste as they dont take them back.

I think my favourite productio was the first UK tour, with Rebecca Storm and Maurice Clarke (i think thats his name...what ever happened to him?) For some reason, it's the Danish Tour Recording that I listen to most. My favourite version to. Its the only one I listen to.

I have to say I am sick of the fawning over Rachels return in Wicked.

Oh I'm so very jealous of you all! Rachel is so easily the best actress to take on the role - I love her angry Elphaba and her vocals are just insane! I can't wait for someone to post a cheeky YouTube video of tonight's defying gravity. All that said, Kerry Ellis was absolutely brilliant every time I've seen her in it too. Sorry but the best ever Elphaba is Jacqueline Hughes by a mile.

I wondered if perhaps Ant & Dec may have been tempted this year... Oh god please no.

In London there is also the traditional Christmas opportunity to have your nuts cracked. This year with three at the same time - ROH, ENB and at Wembley Park ("the world's first immersive ballet"). I will be watching ENB as my brother is their conductor.

What a voice she has. She deserved the lead. Just gutted I can't get to Bradford. 😢

Almost time for my brother conducting "Strictly Prom" on Thursday night. I won't be there but I will be watching him on Friday night BBC4 @ 7.30.
So excited and proud of him.

What's with all these 90's flop musicals being produced again?? CoE has some nice moments but it's not that great. Hoping someone does Metropolis next. I adored Metropolis.

I'm going the weekend after she leaves so I'm hoping its Jemma Rix and Rachel doesn't extend. That would be my number 3 Elphaba replacing my number one. That would just be fantastic. If Rachel does extend I will have three single row B stalls tickets for 3 nights available

^ Yes on her weird accent. I guess it's her way of doing a classic period accent? My favorite Christine is Claire Moore. Gorgeous singing and extremely overlooked. I agree with you. My favourite was Maria Kesselman. I think she was something like 2nd understudy.

If you're going to record a show (be it audio or video), at least do it without distracting anyone in the theatre. That's my rule. I had audio down to a fine art 😏

I see that this has now been made available to amateur companies. Already 2 productions announced in Glasgow area. You wait ages for a bus and 2 come along at once. Amateur society near me has announced it as a forthcoming production.

I saw the first and long running Kenwright tour of this xx number of times years ago. Yes it was dated but an honest production.
I saw the Palladium version and thought it brash, loud and dreadful.

70 Girls 70 at the Forum Theatre, Billingham.
Only went as it had been a while since I'd been to the theatre. Dora Bryan was amazing. The cast were laughing as much as we were. Brilliant night.

Katie is approaching 40 and has been playing the role of Nessa on and off for around 6 years. She is getting too old and will have to do something else sooner or later. I think it is safe to say she will leave, as announced, on January 28, 2017, along with Anita Dobson and Rachel Tucker... though Rachel, if you fancy sticking around for a while longer, feel free. No!!!!!!!!! I've got tickets for after that date!

I know I haven't seen her live but from seeing video clips I cannot understand why everyone raves over Rachel Tucker. To me she sounds ordinary.

I have to disagree about Brian Connolly. To me he takes over whatever he's in and it becomes "his" show.
I can remember years ago seeing Michael Barrymore singing 76 Trombones and thinking at the time he'd be a great Harold Hill.
