I'm wondering how they, or if they, have updated the 'look' of each train or carriage in terms of the make up, wigs and costumes.

This is what I have been ranting about for what seems like forever now!
I understand there may be a market for these and it's a good way to 'test the water' as it were, but if producers expect me to fork out good money, then I want a full production, not some bloody concert version!
It's almost like, we'll charge you to come along to watch us experiment with a cheaper version of what could have been and then if we we feel the demand is there and warranted, we'll charge you again to watch our full scale version.

The longest running character in an American sitcom was Archie Bunker in a show called All In The Family and Kelsey Grammar has said publicly on many an occasion that he wanted to break that record.
What with the character first appearing in Cheers and then into it's own show, as Frasier, he has successfully done that.
I saw a 90 second clip yesterday and replacing Eddie, Frasier has a new nemesis- a dalmation puppy!

When I was at the Musicals.Con event, there was a stand selling the new CD's for Rachel Tucker, Kerry Ellis and a third person- a male (who's name for the life of me I cannot remember right now).
They were also selling, amongst other thing, 2024 Calendars with the same image on the CD cover.

A thought has crossed my mind.
When you get voted off, that it. You're gone.
However (possibly in wrong) but in previous years, after being voted off, about a week or two afterwards when the camera pans around to the audience to see either a celebrity, or relative watching, they would sometimes show a contestant from the current series watching to support their remaining colleague strutting their stuff on the dance floor.
However, I have seen this in ages! It's like when you're gone, you're gone!
I wonder if a no return policy, except for the finale- not even as an audience member- is written into their contract?

I saw Lucy as Elphabah. It was a matinee and 'The Great Oz' face/machine broke down, forcing the show to stop.
A very bewildered Lucy and the guy playing the Wizard were left wondering around on stage until it was fixed.
Although she could sing all of the songs in Wicked, personally I preferred her in Waitress.

Lucie Jones was talking about it on her Saturday morning show on Magic at the Musicals. So it’s four performances,I wonder how many Lucie has negotiated to appear in? Don't know BurlyBeaR. (In truth) I was doing something else and the radio was on in the other room and when she referenced it, my ears pricked up because I's read it on here.

Another (and final) rant! In a previous life I used to work in retail, in Menswear and, although the style of clothes may not be to everyone’s taste, I do recognise men’s fashion trends and do try and keep my eye on the ball. I don’t know if anyone has noticed an increasing trend in men’s fashion where someone in their infinite wisdom has decided to put zippers into polo tops- long and short sleeved. Although I am Australian, I am of Mediterranean heritage and (advance apologies to those reading this post for the graphic nature of what I am about to reveal) but I have a hairy chest. Now, for those of you who don’t, let me tall you zippers and chest hair are NOT likely bedfellows! They are NOT like Velcro and are NOT compatible! So, to that person with the infinite knowledge who thought that putting zippers in tops was a good idea, I affirm that they’re not and just by adding a zipper, you are effectively eliminating a certain demographic of the market. So I see a top on the rack and think ‘oh, that’s nice’ and in the same breath realise I can’t even try it on. And wearing either a vest or an undershirt/T-shirt not only defeats the purpose but doesn’t work- those zippers go up to the neckline. BTW- before anyone suggests it, I am NOT waxing my chest or belly for fashion’s sake! Rant over! As you were. I was thinking strange rant when I originally read this until this morning having never zipped my chest hair despite being a clone of Chewbacca. As I say.... until this morning I rest my case! Seems my work here is done. Lol!

So, for anyone who's watched it, is it any good?
Is it of the same standard of the original series?

Linzi Hateley has just put a pic up on Instagram of Abbey Road Studios and says "I'm going in". Abbey Road Studio is just down the road from me. I go past it regularly on the bus- always stop for tourists on the crossing.

I can see Gio leaving too, the pros have revolved and a lot like Kevin, Pasha, Oti, Joanne have just naturally moved on. Others like Brendan and James were spectacularly dropped and are probably still in shock over it. Karen and Kevin were separated and still on the show together so Neil and Katya it doesn't seem an issue. He has anew partner and baby so is clearly happy and Katya could probably get most available men if she wanted! I think Neil is pretty happy in his role he doesn't have to do all the training of a celeb, can do the group dances, does his workout weeks on Morning Live. He is probably almost like a "super swing" who could step in if a pro was incapacitated and as Matt said is available to assist the couples with training. This likely gives him a nice life balance with the new arrival. I could honestly see Nadiya leaving as this is the 2nd time in 4 series she hasn't had a partner. I can understand it in lockdown year as she has a daughter and the bubbling up might have caused issues with that. But she just has to stand there each week looking stunning like a spare part. Karen is the longest running female pro on the show possibly in the show's history and I always thought she was probably more of a natural to move into presenting than say Janette and Oti. She is a big personality on the show and is still an amazing dancer, her being in her 40's is no consideration to her still being on the show as Anton was trotting out there well into his 50's. Dianne I think has ambitions beyond Strictly so might move on especially if she won it plus is in a long term relationship with a high profile YouTuber so has her following on Social Media if she wanted to go full time in that direction or could move into other TV/stage work. Johannesis a huge personality and very populsr as well as having a huge likeability factor. His solo tours have done very well and I could see him being offered stage roles/TV work in a similar way or maybe more so than Dianne might be. They probably don't want a big turnover of pros but if some move on naturally or one or two need to be refreshed this can happen gradually. I don't necessarily agree with anything you've said however in the case of Nadiya I wonder if her height is a factor for not being partnered. She is a vert tall woman, that's why (at the time) she was partnered with Dan. Kai is also tall. You can't have her dancing with a shorter male.

I totally 'get' the song, the character it's written for and the lyrics, but if truth be told. as much as I love a good Sondheim song or a show, this is one of my least favorites.

I think he'll leave this year, he's seen what Oti has done. I think there might be a pro exodus. I think Karen will go, maybe Gorka, I don’t think Luba is a strong enough personality. But will they let such big names leave all at once? Or Neil. No partner and it must be awkward as hell being in the same studio and with such closed proximity your ex after your new partner just gave birth to your child!

I completely agree, I think he peaked with Rose. Personally, I think the boredom started before that. Even when he was with Rose he was saying things like' the points/scoring doesn't matter'. Well to the celebrity contestants it does!

Ever so slightly off topic but personally, I think Giovanni has been looking a bit bored throughout this and for a couple of season now- like he's just going through the motions.
I hope that whatever has happened that Amanda is well and receives whatever support that is deemed appropriate.

This is most unfortunate.
I believe that no one will truly know what happened except Amanda, Giovanni and the BBC producers and legal department.
If the problem was Giovanni and something he did or said, then I hope the right sort of action is taken to prevent this sort of thing (whatever it was) from happening again and putting off any contestants from taking part in the future.
If it was Amanda, then she needs to be aware of the Terms & Condition of the contract she signed.
Either way, both the BBC and the show do not any scandal and will quickly brush this under the carpet and move on, focusing on the remaining contestants.

You know, when they show the short VT's at the beginning of each celebrities dance and ow they tug at the emotional heartstrings of the viewers by saying 'It's all about my family' or 'They just mean so much' or 'I'm dedicating this dance to my family' or a lost one; as a viewer, it just doesn't work on me- in fact, it has the direct opposite of the desired effect.

I've not seen it.
I wonder what sort of reaction it got through try outs before hitting the West End?
