Love it when someone who's made 270 posts wanders in to tell us we're boring him. 269 at last count

Just got a 19.50 in circle for matinee. Clearly been reduced at some point. I hope it's not because Audra isn't on. Either way, cheap matinee sorted. I might be making this up, but I'm pretty sure on Broadway she had no understudy, so if Audra wasn't on, the show was cancelled. If that is true, the same has probably been adopted for this run too. So enjoy! I scoured the apps and website for indication that Audra only does certain performances and found none. So I'm looking forward to it.

Didn't hate it.
Story is pants, but it's a kids show so forgiven. Plus I quite like Neil McDermott, I've a thing for a bad boy, even if he's playing a weasel.

Hope you enjoy - I saw it last night from the stalls - cheapo from TodayTix. I was blown away by the show - and the size of the set. I was lucky enough to see the Loaf in his heyday and it transported me back in time. Never got his heyday as I am not old enough for that privilege, but saw him in 2005 and his final tour in 2013. Yes his voice was shot, but the emotion in that last tour was huge.

Got a dayseat for this evening. Central row D stalls, so excited as I am a huge Loafer. What time did you get there? Busy? I went at 1pm, so if it was busy this morning they certainly had some good ones left by then.

Going to the matinee today. I like Stiles and Drewe, so we'll see how I find it.
I didn't have much choice in seeing this though as it's the only matinee this afternoon I could find that I haven't already seen.

Hi All, What are the seats in the front row like for Pinnicho? I see comments they are bad, for back and bum? visiting from overseas, Thank you all No idea, but I booked myself one. Can't turn down a bargain at £15. It's my first time sitting in them though, so hope I don't regret it.

There is no time that will please everyone, it just won't happen.
If the general working day is 9 to 5 then having ticket sales start after 9 restricts anyone unable to access these websites after this time (though I'm sure a lot of us 'get paid' for buying theatre tickets in work time).
Move it to 8am I say.

For anyone after a Pride which isn't London then Bristol Pride is also next Saturday (with events all throughout this coming week). It's unfortunate to be competing with London in terms of footfall, but unfortunately they moved their date when Bristol's was already set. Hopefully a great turn out for both events though .

Managed to bag Royal Circle row F seat 4 for this evening on TodayTix Rush at 3:40pm. Surprised as I expected all to go at 10am.
So that's where I'm heading now.

Always a fun day, but I can sense budget cuts. Sorely missed the mastercard angels after spending the last two years in VIP (It's turned me into a snob, so this was a humbling experience).
Plus a lack of stalls. Where was Picturehouse Cinema for my free breakfast popcorn and parody photo?
Good to see new shows though (still miss Billy, and definitely feel Thriller lasts 10 minutes too long (CLOSE IT ALREADY!).
Off to 42nd St now.

Is there a special Theatre Board secret greeting?
"Hello theatre friend, how's the coffee?" Or something like that?

There was a competition on Official London Theatre for seats in the viewing area in front of the National Gallery that they introduced last year. When I entered that if linked me back to MasterCard Priceless. This isn't the VIP enclosure. But the fact MC are doing that viewing gallery suggests to me that they may also do the VIP enclosure as in previous years (even though there is no sign of MasterCard on any of the advertising). If not MasterCard I would imagine it will be run by other people, possibly Heart? Because it is such a long standing thing I can't imagine them not having one (where else would the Boss and KatyCam relax between acts?) and making it accessible to some lucky members of the public is good will . If you do get in Anthony then remember to tell them your good friend MrWallacio needs a seat too

PWC Previews today. Bagged myself a couple for Saturday 15th July.
Anyone else going?
I know nothing about it, but I was intrigued by the fact it features Dylan so thought I would give it a go for £10.

Which side of the gallery - from where I was sat in the cheap side gallery seats the sound balance was woeful in Act 1! I don't agree that this concert proves there is a market for this show in the West End though - for one, there were a fair few empty seats and quite a few others clearly filled by friends and family of the performers and organisers, and also we've quite recently had a revival that was so different and groundbreaking in terms of the history of the show that it doesn't need to be repeated anytime soon. There are plenty of other shows crying out for a revival before we get TCP back, and I think even if we did it would likely struggle unless it was at the Menier or another smaller venue. And I'm saying that as someone who loves the show. I'm not arguing your point haha, but it should be noted the seats by the veey front wall were not put on sale at all, so they were empty or filled by friends of people. The Stalls did look pretty much full, I didn't see a single empty seat. But obviously you had a more clear view of the full stalls. I agree a one night concert doesn't atomatically prove anything, but I think the right venue and right promotional campaign it couls work a limited run, sure. Plus the audience last night made enough noise most theatres double in size don't make haha. There were empty seats around me during act one. These were filled at the start of act two. Couldn't work out if this was people sitting further back who moved forward, or people who couldn't read the start time on their tickets.

Mr W will be receiving people at his seat for a strictly limited season 19:10 to 19:23. Please be suitably dressed and don't show him up! Thank you. Places are strictly limited. First come first served. But anyone who brings me an ice cream or rum gets automatically upgraded to the front of the queue.

I haven't done anything so ridiculous as go Bristol to London to Bristol for a single show Sunday with work at 7:30 tomorrow morning since the Dogfight concert at St James. But at least that one was a matinee and I was home by 9pm.
Eek.

I managed to get myself the last two front cheap tickets for the date I wanted. I had wanted to book more but discovered on trying to book more tickets on a different date later in the run that I was only allowed two cheap tickets for this production (is this a National Theatre general rule? I've not tried to book more than two before for a single production so don't know).
Two seats not next to each other, but at least my friend and I are seeing it. Plus we don't need to talk to each other during the actual show anyway, so have no need to sit next to each other.

^ A small world indeed! Your thoughts? Are you seeing any more this week? Thought it was amazing. Definitely a good choice (even if it was my first day in NYC, had been awake 24 hours and still going to the theatre). Saw Sunday In The Park With George tonight. Nothing else officially planned as yet, but I'm here until next Wednesday.

Saw this last night and I have to admit it's one of the best shows I've seen this year, if not the best. As soon as you enter the theatre you are greeted with the aroma of spiced apple and pastry, never before have I experienced such sensory attention to detail at the theatre before, and boy did it really create the atmosphere and excitement I'm sure it meant to. Sara Bareilles was incredible as Jenna, this is obviously a role she knows better than perhaps Jessie Mueller herself, and it certainly shows. I did notice that this is developing the same fan reaction that I experienced at The Color Purple last year, except it's not quite as extreme - yet. Massive rapturous applause and whooping when she stepped on stage for the first time and then again after each solo. She definitely deserves it, but as a reserved British fuss pot I certainly noticed it. The strength in this show is absolutely the score, and the entire cast as a whole. It's an incredibly enjoyable evening of entertainment, and I hope it does see a life in London one day. As a side note, they auctioned off a signed apron worn by Sara that day for Broadway Cares, and they sold two for a whopping $2,500 each! I too was there last night

You won't be disappointed. And despite this being set in Bristol it is completely translatable to any town or city with deprived areas.
I loved this show.
