Every other actress wanting an award is probably fuming that Imelda is doing both a play and a musical in the same year.

Has anyone been?
I had time to kill before my matinee so spent 3 hours there chatting to the staff and filling up on tea.
Love the concept, and it was quiet enough when I was there, but in busy periods I'm not sure how well it'll cope. I wish it well.
I'll certainly return for a drink and bite whenever I'm in London as I love themes like this.

Got a reduced price for this tonight, front row of the Royal circle. Wow, brilliant view and great to see all the choreography.
Last time I came was dayseated front row.
My mother is loving it tonight (yes, I'm spending valentines with my mother....)

Going to see this end of Feb. Looking forward to it.
I actually directed one of the cast when he was at school before he subsequently went and studied at RADA.

What's happening 25th March? People are mentioning that as a date, is this Wicked related?

I know a lot of people are at the 29th Angels double show, so something should be organised then. It would be nice to have more meet ups like that Wicked one throughout the year and away from the Apollo Vic. Problem if they are all on Wicked big performances is that if anyone else wants to come it isn't always that easy to get across town and back if you're seeing a matinee and evening show not of the witchy variety. Which 29th? I agree varying locations is the way forward and the more we can organise these the better 29th April.

I enjoyed it in Edinburgh, so hopefully it does ok and doesn't die a death in the west end.

If anyone has a Hamilton code they don't want to use would you mind DMing it to me? If that's allowed. A friend of mine completely missed the Hamilton train back in November and I'm trying to make her day.

Bumping this because I am going to book it for when I am in NYC in April. Not loving the ticket prices, so I am going to (for a rare time in my life) buy top level seats and hope I can see alright. Seems a small theatre though so should be fine. Why oh why isn't there a TheatreMonkey equivalent for Broadway to alleviate my seat choice fears (if there is one does anyone care to tell me what it is ).

Thanks Anthony - though if we go ruling out school nights we'd be left with the carnage of hen parties and the weekend suburban invasion! I used to brave a late night for David Bedella's monthly gigs at The Alley Cat and struggle through Fridays on set :-) Granted I don't have the kids to worry about.... Hope it happens. Sounds like it would be a lot more fun than the BWW crowd. Do it anytime which isn't a weekend and you'll only get the people close enough to London to travel and TheatreBoard is a much wider community than that. I think it needs to be on a weekend so those who live outside of the M25 can make it.

When will Amber return?! She's been off for ages now... I know some people going on NYE (Sat) and I really hope they get to see Amber? What's the chances? When she's well enough to perform would be my guess.

Whereabouts were you sat? I was in row K. Never sat that far back at the St James before. Yes there were a few mic issues, but certainly didn't ruin my enjoyment. I do think I would have missed some lyrics had I not known them all anyway (it was a struggle not to join in in places, but I held it together). There was a teenage boy sat next to me and he was having a good weep at the same time as me, so I'm glad I didn't embarrass myself in front of him (working in education I have to keep a air of manliness about me). I was row C, at the front (the bum that Benny shouted at to get my "ass off that Land Rover"). I always tear up during Will I? and I'll Cover You (Reprise). Also, scarily enough, I also work in education. Always good to be part of the show. Nothing scary about it. I hear only the best people work in education .

Well that was simply wonderful. Possibly the best production of Rent I have seen, and made my horror of the initially high ticket price completely disappear. Unsurprisingly I wept a few times (as I tend to always do with Rent). It really is my favourite show. I was there, too Mr W. Despite some mic issues with Roger the show was brilliant, you wouldn't have been able to tell they've had cast illnesses. It was the first time I've seen a production with Contact in, which made a nice change. I adore this show, and I'd happily book again for the tour. Perfectly Christmassy too. Whereabouts were you sat? I was in row K. Never sat that far back at the St James before. Yes there were a few mic issues, but certainly didn't ruin my enjoyment. Don't be scared, george... Just keep everything in perspective. I mean, there are scarier things in life: for instance, you might get your tickets for Follies. And this is after Sheridan has announced that she will be making her first National Theatre appearance in it. But then on the night you go, she's off sick, and Amanda Holden is announced as her replacement (no refunds unfortunately as the producers have done what they are required to do and found someone to step in... Oh, and it has completely sold out for the entire run.) Or you might wake up on Sunday morning and find that Santa hasn't been. Or your mum might find out you've done no homework this past year and ban you from coming on here. For life. You see what I mean? There's scary and then there's Scary! That is so out of context, really patronising and just plain rude! What has that got to do with Follies? You've done this before, don't be rude and talk personal to me when you don't even know who I am!! That comment about 'homework' is just so out of context, again, you don't know any of my school life or anything. I do well at school. What I commented about FOLLIES (what this thread is on) was a throw away comment about how much I want to see the show. Grow up. I don't think Caiaphas was trying to be rude in his comment, just pointing out that in life there are a lot of things scarier than not getting theatre tickets (though sometimes it doesn't feel like it). I think you'll get tickets fine, just keep an eye out for the on sale date and get right on it .

I phoned the BO as I wanted to know the situation with regards to todays shows. I was told that an U/S is currently rehearsing and a decision would be made in the next 30 minutes over whether the show goes ahead as a full production or concert version. If it's concert then the emails will go out to everyone, but the BO woman believes it will be a full production (of course she probably has to say that).

I've heard that those who got the concert version were refunded anyway. Which I find extremely nice If that's the case then that is very nice of the theatre/production company.

My daughters due to take her boyfriend tomorrow as a birthday treat and is stressing about it as they have been really looking forward to seeing the full show. She doesnt want a stripped down version but wants him to still have his birthday treat. As their social media channels arent great how early tomorrow is a decision likely to be made? The box office will email everyone regarding show changes. It's a two show day, so if they are going to the evening they will know a good few hours beforehand. If it's matinee I don't know, but after yesterday I would imagine the producers would want the cast to call in sick fairly early as they will have a lot of people to contact if they can't go ahead. I'm in a bit of a dilemma if they strip the show back as I want to see the full show since I spent a lot of money on a ticket, but there are not many other matinees that I haven't already seen and as I'm in London until my coach this evening there isn't much to do other than go to the theatre.

Rent going ahead tonight in a concert staging.
I have tickets for the show tomorrow afternoon. I hope they can put on the full production then.
After a couple of weeks ago when I saw Ragtime in concert unexpectedly due to cast indisposition I wouldn't like to make a habit of my theatre outings going that way, especially with the cost of the ticket for tomorrow's show.

Is there any info on how long Amber may stay with the show as yet?? After our cancelled show on the 7th would like to book again. But after the journey from Cornwall and Germany we would like to think we could try to see her this time. Just watch the DVD of the film Well that was completely unhelpful advice. I'd imagine she'll stay at least 6 months. I'd hope a year if this isn't a limited run show, but then she's an American star so may not want to get tied to a project longer than 6 months.

Listening to the movie soundtrack now and I LOVE the musical - cannot wait for this!! Is this a show you could see twice? If I love it then I think I'll try and see it again later in the year too Absolutely. I'm now wondering if I buy myself tickets to see it since my lottery entries will be limited to when I'm actually in London and I can't rely on having that much luck again for a long time.

Running time anyone? Going Wednesday and looking at trains home afterwards.... For £10 thoroughly looking forward to this! 90 mins no interval. Out at 9. We got out a bit late last night (not by much) due to the restarts. Sometimes I like short things like this because I get an earlier night.

Do people think that Amber is going to end up not doing Saturday matinees if she is encouraged for voice rest? If so, I hope we are informed as I really want to see her. Also, what's happened to Ruth Brown (the other alternate), why hasn't she been on yet?? At this point early in the run it's hard to know. It wouldn't surprise me if they change her 7 shows to 6 if her voice gets weak, but at the moment maybe she is just feeling under the weather and can't handle the two shows in a state of illness. I like that currently Wednesday matinees are an Amber day while evenings are not. It isn't usually that way around. Nice that those who prefer the matinees get to see the 'star' and those who can't go to them due to work get to support the understudies they want to see. I think if Amber is reduced to 6 shows it won't be the Saturday matinee that gets the chop. But only time will tell.

Full cast were on tonight. Hugely talented. See, that irritates me. If they've all been told to take "vocal rest" (like Amber's tweet) and not do both shows today, why not split them between the two, rather than having three principals out at the matinee? Matinee audiences aren't less important than evening ones. Disappointing that this was the case. We got to still see a great show for £15 though so neither of us can really complain. But if the role is so demanding for Amber then she should never have been advertised as doing 7 out of 8 performances if so early in the run she's going to be taking breaks. I hope this isn't the start of weeks of controversy as she takes shows off all over the place. Not living in London (or really close enough to get to swiftly) my abilty to see the show on a lottery ticket is limited as I much prefer to know what I'm seeing whilst I'm on my trips as opposed to risking lotteries and then having to find a reasonable deal which suits me when I inevitably lose. I enjoyed this show enough though that I may treat myself to an evening performance higher priced ticket to see the full cast perform (hopefully).
