Just checked at the box office, they'll be doing day tickets at £10.00 each, 2 per person, not sure on location Mrs H twitter account tweeted last night they are £25 from 10:30am. I hope that's a mistake as it's at the upper end of dayseat price. I hope it's a case of X number of seats at £10, and then best available at £25.

Yes, yes it is. I should have mentioned that in my post too.

Hi All,
When I went to the WMC to see Mack and Mabel back in December I saw a new musical being advertised called Only The Brave, which is at the Donald Gordon Theatre 28th March to 2nd April. I booked tickets for it yesterday as I like experiencing new shows.
I believe this was put on at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008 (with Cassidy Janson and Keith Jack), and there is a cast recording from then available, but was shown as a 70 minute piece, which has now been expanded to a full two act show. I read an article from around the Ed show which rated that version highly and said it was destined for the West End. The fact the WMC show is being described as being created by them I am assuming this never made it to London 8 years ago (I certainly don't recall hearing about it). Maybe now is the time for this show to shine. It's currently only got its few dates at WMC, but maybe it is finally destined for bigger things.
There are a few songs on the production page on the WMC website from the show as a bit of a taster, and I am liking what I hear.
If you like new things and are able to get to see it, I am sure there are worse things to travel to see.

Dad's Army (which I saw last night) was not a surprise hit for me. I love the original so much that I don't know what I was really expecting from it, but I just couldn't dissociate myself that the actors on screen were not the actors I wanted to see being the roles (Vicar excluded).
Mr Mays wasn't bad, he did fine with the material, just it wasn't good material.

According to that video each scene was better than the next. So it starts off well and is bad by the end?

Yeah it's actually now set in 2012 on the eve of the Olympics and Mrs H is a pole vaulter coming out of retirement for one last hurrah. She 'Presents' herself at the Olympics in search of the gold medal she failed to previously win.
(I don't know why I just came up with that, I think it's too late in the day for me to writing intellectual things on forums)

I've never actually watched the film, so my first showing in Bath came as a bit of a surprise because they didn't have the advertising about the clothes coming off then. I should watch it, but the trouble now is I'll be wanting the characters to be bursting into the songs all the time.

I'd love to be able to walk in on Tuesday and get the cast recording. Just listening to the two songs on youtube isn't enough.

I'd offer to nab you a dayseat but my spare is going to my friend who's lending me his floor for that evening.
I'm sure you're already aware, but TM has some offers listed for this show.

I have sat in so many theatres over my time and can only think of one occurance where I may or may not have seen a celebrity and one where I definitely did. I've probably been in the presence of many but I'm really not very observant.
Anyway, definitely saw Rupert Grint at Wicked a few years ago, and may or may not have seen Vanessa Redgrave at Carousel when it was at the Barbican back in 2012.

The only time theatre has cost me was when I inadvertently got excited about a show and double booked myself when I already had tickets to something else. One was Gypsy in Chichester with Imelda, the other was an amateur production of Sister Act. Can you guess which tickets I ditched?

Not just one of us if Daniel Johnson goes as I am planning to dayseat it that day (pure luck it starts previews the same day I am in London). Of course having seen it in Bath and enjoyed it my review may be slightly biased, so probably good to get a less blurred opinion.
If you do go for Henderson Mr J then maybe a mini TheatreBoard meet up?

Oh that sounds nice, I'll definitely pop in on one of my London trips, always looking for things to do besides sitting in coffee shops before my theatre visits.

Does anyone have any idea when they may sell (if at all) tickets to the final show? I see they are selling the final matinee. I don't expect to be able to get anything decent, but on the off chance they sell them and I manage to bag a couple of good seats I wouldn't mind being at the final Billy.

Hmmm, I never got a chance to see Bev in the Bodyguard, so this is intriguing if I find myself with a spare slot over my various London trips. However I am seeing Nev in concert in July where no doubt she'll be knocking out a few Whitney claasics, so I'll have probably already seen the best bits there.
I'll consider.

Just woke up and saw Wilma's Facebook post about all the theatre news overnight. Really happy with the Dreamgirls news. Amber Riley can definitely sing the role (though not heard her live, only tv recordings, but I doubt she'll fail to impress on the vocals). Hopefully Alexandra won't do a Marcus and renege on her holy duties to become Deena. I can't wait to see who else is in the cast, but this could really be a chance for Rachel John to shine further if she's Deena. Maybe Alexia Khadime? I don't know what she's doing come November. My mum has loved Dreamgirls for years, so that's her birthday present sorted . Now, off to work I go.

Wouldn't see why not. Front row hasn't been sold for them either. Plus I'm in London next Tuesday and am hoping to see the show (relive being at the first show in Bath).

Don't believe the front row is on sale, so my guess is there. I love a front row dayseat

I am really happy that we get a world premiere musical in the UK and will definitely be getting tickets when they are released. I love the film (I really must watch it again) and have faith in Tim Minchin as I adore the songs in Matilda.

(Too harsh? I actually quite liked it really. I hope I'm not correct as I'd never be able to think of a good question)

I'd love for this to transfer as I am not going to get a chance to see it at the Tricycle and I really enjoyed (if you can call it enjoyment) The Father last year. Stick The Mother in the Wyndhams for a limited run and I'll be happy with that.

Did anybody see this on the live cinema relay last night? I saw it at Cineworld Leigh Nd really enjoyed it! No fluffed lines by anyone as far as I can tell, and I loved the way they staged it. I saw it in Showcase De Lux, Bristol. I was pleased to see the show, I enjoyed it, but not sure I'd like to have been in the front row last night, I'd probably be fidgetting with my hands to be seen by the thousands watching live. It was a lot funnier than I was perhaps expecting, which is good as I was a little worried it would be far too wordy for me to truly enjoy. I must go to see more of these live events.

Not really a fan of Joseph. I don't mind the music, but it's such a short show, which wouldn't be an issue if they didn't stick a 20 minute megamix on the end of it to bulk out the time (maybe an exaggeration). I am however a fan of Joe, so will likely go to see him perform. Back when I used to watch X Factor he was one of my favourite performers.

Does anyone have a programme for the original production. I'm desperate to see a cast/role list, alongside orchestra config & a song list. Yes, send me a DM with an email and I'll send you a pic of the cast list etc

Ah a thread I was about to make. Nice that the name can updated to express its new home.
Coincidentally enough I am in London on the 9th Feb and am planning on seeing the first preview (seems apt considering I was at the first show in Bath), it'll be interesting to see how it has changed, and how Jamie Foreman does now he is in it (bit of a different role to the Derek Branning Eastenders character I remember). Not got a ticket yet, am hoping they do dayseats so I can grab one of those.
