How much nudity is in the show? And does everyone get naked? LOL To answer your question, and it is not a spoiler to say but if you don't want to know, don't read on... Six women (three ensemble and three named characters) get completely naked in the show, but their lower front is usually in shadow or covered by material or their legs. Emma also gets completely naked and you do see everything of her, and when I say everything, I mean everything haha. And I won't spoil it, but there is a very cleverly chreographed scene where several male characters also get naked. But how it is done you will have to wait and see. But to be honest, after the first scene where the cast get naked, you really don't notice the nudity. Well you do, but it is not uncomfortable or strange to look at, it looks somewhat artistic and beautiful! Artistic and beautiful is the point. It's just art, much as it was at The Windmill.

That's a bit short of time to get into the Dominion if Bodyguard is booking until January 2017? Where else could it set down? Victoria Palace? But isn't that earmarked for Hamilton?

At least it's on at the Shaftesbury, a theatre I only ever pass if I'm going to see a show there, so I won't be looking at the place every time I go to London.

I'm talking about the movie, n7ot the musical! By mentioning something dramatic in the movie which isn't in the musical, that's a spoiler as they've changed the story.

Back for the second act. It's definitely better than the first one, there are better songs (especially the wonderful If Mountains Were Easy To Climb). However, I can't understand why they decided to cut some intense moments like Maureen's death or Mrs. Henderson's beautiful speech about the son Alec (I'm so mad they cut this, it was the heart of the movie and it makes clear why the lady is fond of the business)... the result is that the show never reaches a dramatic climax (I mean, no one cares enough for Eddie, you can't tell me that's the climax) and the characters are never fully developed. My favourite part of the show was just before the ending, when the narrator came on stage begging for applause and no one clapped. If they cut that role I might consider seeing it again. Spoilers galore here

What a pity they ditched the overture, I don't think it detracted anything from the show unless they just wanted to shave off a couple of minutes.
I thought the upper circles would have gotten an eyeful of little Eddie, there was certainly whooping from up there on Tuesday.

I completely forgot this was even coming such is the lack of interest I have. Is there even any promotion because I've not seen any? Hopefully it won't stay long.

If it lasts until the end of its booking period that'll coincide with West End Live. I like the atmosphere of a closing night (especially a show based on a show that 'never closes'). So I am hoping it finds an audience to last until June.

Out of this evenings performance. I previously caught the show on the second preview and I enjoyed it much more tonight. Sheridan has improved leaps and bounds imo and whilst People still sounds off due to not being Babs she ends the song strongly, really giving it her old at big end notes.
Also got interviewed after the show, so watch out for the audience reaction trailer and my fangirling review may be featured. I could be the greatest star.

The album is released February 19th! Very happy bunny with this news!

To feature pretty much the run of songs from last night bar Overture and Walkdown...
1. Everybody Loves the Windmill 2. Mrs Henderson Presents 3. Whatever Time I Have 4. Lord Chamberlain's Song 5. What a Waste of a Moon 6. Rubens and Renoir 7. Ordinary Girl 8. It Starts With a Dream 9. Perfect Dream 10. Living in a Dream World 11. He's Got Another Think Coming 12. Women at War - Medley 13. Now is Not the Time 14. Anything But Young 15. We'll Never Close
16. What a Waste of a Moon - Reprise 17. Innocent Soldier 18. If Mountains Were Easy To Climb 19. We'll Never Close - Reprise £23.68. Seriously?? I almost had a coronary when I saw that. I'd think it's a mistake, but the producers did slap an extra £15 on dayseats so......

The Olivier is pretty safely Lara's. Mrs H isn't eligible until 2017, so Emma can be a contender then. Hopefully people will remember the show by the time nominations for 2017 are revealed. Are we sure about that? Seeing this tonight. I know nothing! Exciting! I believe eligibility ends on 16th Feb and they need 30 performances. Do previews even count as performances where awards are concerned?

I think the stage goes quite a way back.
I can't comment on box views, but mine was fine in row H and the trial I took in row C.
Not the whole stage is used across though. For a good portion there's a second proscenium arch on stage since they are performing a show in a show and recreate the Windmill stage.

Phill Jupitus has done an interview on the site that won't be named which said he was hoping to play Nathan Detroit before David Haig was cast.
If G&Ds lasts beyond the Chitty tour he may finally get his wish

Emma and Traciee are just stunning. That final number is a showstopper if there ever was one. Emma is surely giving Lara a run for her money for that Olivier?! She has to win! This show was brilliant. I loved it, from the music, to the design... everything was just delightful. And the audience in the packed stalls seemed to agree. Eruptions of laughter and applause throughout, with the cast treated to TWO standing ovations from many members of the audience at the end. Emma even shed a few tears from the response. I can't wait to go back! The Olivier is pretty safely Lara's. Mrs H isn't eligible until 2017, so Emma can be a contender then. Hopefully people will remember the show by the time nominations for 2017 are revealed.

I took a seat in the front row during the interval to gauge the view and the stage is low enough to get a good view from there. However beware that the whole stage has old stylee shell looking stage lights across the front. Wasn't an issue when I sat there briefly and the sort of thing you'd get used to after a while. Maybe I should ask them to move me to 3rd or 4th row as originally booked. I just realised that I've never been to the Noel Coward before. Another first and one more theatre to tick off my list... If you prefer to be a little further from the stage. Be mindful that the Noel Coward doesn't have much of a rake at the front of the stalls, so personally for my taste I prefer not to have others heads in my way.

Front row is C as they've removed two for the orchestra. So I'm front row now. It wasn't when I booked my ticket, but actually, I don't mind being up front. I took a seat in the front row during the interval to gauge the view and the stage is low enough to get a good view from there. However beware that the whole stage has old stylee shell looking stage lights across the front. Wasn't an issue when I sat there briefly and the sort of thing you'd get used to after a while.

More of us in tonight than I expected. Well done forumites on the support we showed.
Sadly I don't see much they can do with the comedian, maybe better material to work with if they can think of jokes that'll make the audience laugh.
I knew I wasn't going mad about the overture. I liked it, it should stay. I think every show should have one.

For a first outing in London it is in very good shape. Other than a few mic cues and minor set mishaps (Mrs H broke her glasses in one scene but covered it hilariously).
There are a few reprises of songs which were not present in Bath, and the big act two ensemble number has been expanded massively (where Mrs H broke her specs) with totally different choreography.
Again the comedian character falls flat, he really has lousy material. However in the first Bath preview it was the same situation and when I returned a week later the actor had settled into the role more. Since Jamie Foreman has only just taken over the role and this was his first outing in front of an audience I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he settles into it like the previous actor after a few more shows.
I hope this doesn't close early and gets support as the audience tonight seemed to love it.
Long Live Henderson.

Interval thoughts.
I'm enjoying it just as much as in Bath. I don't know if my old age forgets, but there's an Overture now which I think was missing there.
It feels a lot slicker than it was before and a few more little touches.
Front row is C as they've removed two for the orchestra.

How often have you used it outside of your regular theatre? If an acceptable amount then keep it.
I use mine the majority in Bristol, but have saved ample booking fees on London shows and special discounts on some Trafalgar Studios and Phoenix shows.

I think Danieljohnson14 will be more fair in his opinions going in a bit blind.

So the dayseat situation.
It's £25 best available in stalls and circle. Front row is likely sold in advance looking at DM site as I didn't account for removing rows for the orchestra in my previous assumptions.
Only 4 of us when the tickets went on sale. One complained to the box office as they were told £10 and it's now £25. The producers only set the dayseat price last night, hence the confusion.
I got row H seats 24/25 for £25 each. It is a bit more than I wanted, but as has been said, the last few shows were £10 front row so we all assumed it to be the same situation.
Still, £25 is acceptable imo for a musical given the prices of other musical dayseats.
