I'm on my way now (and sneaking in another visit to sunset boulevard on the way). I'm excited that they are going to have all 4 Billys. Are there any other changes for tonight? As in, alternate scenes? Or just a special finale ending? I probably won't notice being so far away. I may bump into you at some point Fiyero if we're both at Sunset mat and Billy night. Not that I'll have any clue who you are.

This had better be good at the matinee today after I broke my record price on one ticket to see this. If you deduct the cost of the two Toxic Avenger tickets that you won in our competition but WOULD have bought otherwise, and take off the cost of the mug, tote bag and programme you're NOT going to buy this afternoon then you probably only spent £25 on your ticket. RESULT! Tickets deducted, but I can't possibly not have myself a programme. Plus annoyingly my mother saw someone walking around with a Sunset tote this past week and dropped a less than subtle hint that I need to get her one. This and final Billy is resulting in a pricey day and I've not even arrived in London yet.

Is it bad though that as much as I loved Billy and am sad it is closing, I am wayyyyy more excited for Funny Girl starting performances down the road today? Not really, Funny Girl is fresh in town, but I know where I'd rather be tonight, even if I am in the, gods (shudder)

I wish I had caught it again but I can't! 4, 600 performances, whst a run! I bet the dayseat line this morning was nuts! Morning? It was probably nuts last night. Crazy people. At least they can be far from me in my Grand circle 'luxury'

No earlier than a normal matinee time though? Earlier than some: I much prefer the 3 pm or even 3.30 pm starts, such as you find, for instance, at the Park, Southwark Playhouse, etc. Early matinees just make timing really tight if you are whizzing between venues, especially, say, if one is not in central London but Kingston, Richmond, Wimbledon and so on. Surely if you are whizzing between venues between a matinee and evening show then the earlier the matinee the better as a later matinee leaves even less travelling time :/

I still want to see it but the matinee is so early it doesn't fit in with seeing a film beforehand, so I'm hoping for deals on evening tix. But maybe with the closure announced and return visits from enthusiastic patrons, there'll be no need for further discounts. I won't lose any sleep over it if I don't see it, but my theatre tix this year have already cost so much more than last year that I need to pay less for a few now! No earlier than a normal matinee time though?

Regardless of what Parsley says, it was pretty full when I watched it on Thursday.

Considering this is closing in less than 24 hours I didn't expect the last post to be from March.
Anyone at the final two shows tomorrow? I'm there for the evening.

Not sure I liked looking at the audience on stage though, some eye candy distracted my gaze a few times. It's somehow more distracting than 'in the round' productions for the fact that they're all staring straight at you. Fortunately for my attention levels they were mostly all old women as opposed to young men. Two shows yesterday of looking at extra audience as saw the matinee of The Maids, though with that the staging and lighting made them less obvious than PP&Ts

Samantha Barks, Jessie Buckley, Aoife someone who was in Chicago came from one of those let's cast a show shows, either Dorothys or Marias. I think these are a separate category too. The wonderful siobhan dillon also came from one of these shows Yeah you can't put them in the same boat since the goal of their shows was to end up in theatre anyway. X Factor was to be the next Michael Jackson/Madonna.

Lloyd Daniels was also Joseph, and Ray Quinn was Danny in Grease. Him out of G4 was in Whistle Down The Wind. Shayne Ward was Stacee Jaxx. Brenda Edwards was Mama Morton and Killer Queen.
Can we say Dean John Wilson from BGT in Eternity, SFANW, Miss Atomic Bomb and Aladdin (I know it's not the same, he always wanted to do theatre anyway).

It only started getting pretty busy by about 8:45. There were issues with the theatre 'system' though today and they could only take cash payments and give ticket collection receipts for later in the day. Not an issue for buying front row dayseats, but I saw yesterday that someone was offered row J in stalls at dayseat price, so it seems the theatre may do best available after selling all of front row, however that wouldn't work this morning if they can't get online to see what is actually on sale. I feel a bit sorry for the people further down the line if they missed out on seats due to the technology glitch. Suffered at the hands of this, couldn't get a seat to the evening performance today so settled for day seats at the matinee. Was fifteenth in the queue just after 9.00, I'd say about another 15-20 behind me at box office opening. Was in A20 and A21 (front row furthest left) and they were fantastic seats, nothing missed, apart from feet. The show itself didn't disappoint on any level. To compare to another contemporary play in the same genre, you could pick any 5 minutes of PP&T and it would say more about addiction than the entirety of The End Of Longing. Denise Gough deserves every bit of her Olivier, if only for the sheer endurance of being onstage, having a 2hr 30m breakdown every night. The rest of the cast were great as well. Set, sound, lighting etc equally brilliant. This has got to be one of the few plays that lived up to the hype. Loved it. You won't like me saying then that the people in those seats for the evening didn't turn up. Wholeheartedly agree that Denise earned her Olivier. An absolutely storming intense performance. Not sure I liked looking at the audience on stage though, some eye candy distracted my gaze a few times.

Not sure you caught the point baemax was making What was the point? That if you had no interest in the show at all you wouldn't have taken time to open this thread and make a comment in it is basically what Baemax was getting at

Out of the matinee today and much like their previous stuff this really appealed to my sense of humour.
I wasn't crying like I was the first time I say PTGW, but it was still amusing, if a bit predictable at times.
It did seem like Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayers were playing their characters from the previous two shows and not something independent, so it makes them seem a bit 'one trick pony'.
Definitely worth the £25 I paid. Would I pay full price? No, but then there's rarely anything I do for.

Currently on my coach to London for a couple of theatre filled days.
Today is already decided as Comedy About A Bank Robbery and Miss Atomic Bomb.
Tomorrow is hopefully Beautiful and People, Places & Things, but when you don't have tickets already that's subject to change.
Back on Saturday for Sunset matinee (I caved after all the great comments on here and couldn't risk missing out on such an event) and then final Billy.
Theatrical week.

I am not a fan of anywhere in the BOV other than the pit. I feel you need to choose seats quite carefully due to the amount of pillars around the auditorium.
I only sat anywhere but the pit once and perhaps it was a bad seat choice on my part, but I couldn't relax with a pillar at the corner of my vision.
Can't really be much help, just throwing my opinion out there. Though I am one of those seat snobs :/

I took a guess at 17 awards and got 14 correct.
This is in part due to coincidentally not seeing every nominated show in each category, and luckily having seen the ones which won, so my support went to those I had seen.

Honestly, a laminated theatre spreadsheet sounds like one of the most beautiful things on earth. Ha! It truly is a beautiful thing! And colour coded to theatrical perfection

Damn, I knew this would happen. I should never have read this thread as I now really really want to see this, and at a high price too due to my sheer inability to sit far away from the action.
What's the front row like for this? Perfectly acceptable if the orchestra are on stage?
I guess I can live on cheap food for a month to cover this.......

I'll be considering the same thing. Decided that one thing I wanted to do before I turn 30 (weep) was go to Fringe, so booked accommodation last August for this year.
Need to get a plan together (thinking detailed spreadsheet) of things I definitely want to see and start to semi plan my days once the full schedule comes out.

I saw online that this is a one act 90 minute piece (from Broadway), is this true?
My friend has very selfishly moved her birthday party to the weekend when I'm seeing the matinee of this and because I am such a good friend am sacrificing my evening theatre slot to go to her party so am trying to work out the best coach to book.

Looking at the prices that isn't pretty. I know I'll end up seeing this because I'm of the opinion that Kerry can do no wrong, but I sort of expected something a bit easier on the wallet for the Arts Theatre.

The army training number, according to the programme is called 'Training' . I liked the inclusion of the {Spoiler - click to view} real war veteran
at the beginning and end. I think that was a lovely touch and made the emotion even stronger.
