@mrscondomine It’s the daughter. She appears in the kitchen scene, where Jerry is playing with her and throwing her up in the air. Then she spends a couple of minutes on Toms lap (lucky girl 😜) before he carries her offstage.

At today's matinee of School of Rock, I could not believe the number of people filming the closing scenes - no pretence at all, phones held blatantly in the air. I had a lovely view through several screens. There were several school parties present, and they were well behaved - it was the adults doing the filming. Well they do encourage people to film it. When I saw the show Dewey actually told the audience to get their cameras out and post to YouTube and Twitter. The same happened at Six this weekend and even at Waitress the ushers held up signs that filming was allowed at the curtain call. So that’s not really bad behaviour by the audience...

Tonight at Betrayal I had a mouth breather sitting behind me. And I mean that literally... Apparently this woman had a blocked nose. A veeeey blocked nose by the sound of it. So she kept breathing through her mouth, wheezing and grunting through the entire 90 minutes. I couldn’t even turn around and glare at her but even if I could have there probably wouldn’t have been anything she could have done about it. Well maybe use some nasal spray next time... Thank god Tom Hiddleston was so sexy that he distracted me from her and the constant wheezing most of the time. 😜

Welcome to the world of German fandom. I invite you to sit through one of the super popular musicals here (coughtanzdervampirecough) to enjoy the whistlers, whoopers and hollerers in their full glory! Really? I haven’t encountered these kind of people in a long time. Especially not at Tanz der Vampire in Berlin lately. At the last couple of shows I’ve seen I was actually wondering if anyone in the audience was even awake. I don’t appreciate whistlers and hollerers either but the last crowds I’ve encountered were especially lame. Some of them even refused the now obligatory standing ovation in the end.

Alexander Hamilton... Ich heisse Alexander Hamilton... Eine Million Dinge noch zu tun... Warten Sie, warten Sie! (sorry if I failed miserably, I studied German almost 10 years ago and I've lost most of it lol) You’re doing great, dear! You should work for Stage Entertainment.... 😂 I can only agree to everything that has been said on this thread already. Stage will butcher it. The translation will be horrible but it won’t matter in the end because nobody will be able to understand a word of it anyway. ^^ This is going to be hilarious...

I just unlocked rush for this and it says „Come back Thursday at 10:00 for more rush tickets.“
Don’t know why the mail would say Saturday but it looks like rush will be available for every performance.
I‘m seeing the show in March and I can’t wait. I already saw it on Broadway and loved it. I saw the original cast (minus Kendra Kassebaum) who also did the CD so it will be a little weird to hear different voices as I’m so used to the CD now. But I’m really looking forward to it.

Yea, that's fair I just thought the remark "But I can’t believe those are Austrian hits. I mean really?" was rather strong/cruel, particularly considering the kind of music that's popular in Germany I don’t like Helene Fisher or other German artists either. I don’t listen to that kind of music so I can’t really compare. But I just can’t imagine songs with lyrics like “ich hab keine Lire und keine Papiere” or “Wenn das kein Beweis ist für Midlife Crisis“ or even „Es lebe der Sport, er macht uns stark, er macht uns hart“ playing on the radio and being big hits. 😉 These are the kind of songs that usually get parodied by Oliver Kalkofe... 🙈

I just don't get this kind of bitching about jukebox musicals. If I don't care for a singer/group or don't know the music, I just don't go, even if it's cheap. And if I want to go because of a favorite performer, I familiarize myself with the material and could then still decide if it's worth sitting through for the performer or not. I guess that was directed at me. I wasn’t bitching about jukebox musicals in general. I really like jukebox musicals. And I don’t think you have to be familiar with everything before you see a show. I’ve seen shows I knew absolutely nothing about and loved them. So why not give it a try? This one wasn’t a show I enjoyed very much but it wasn’t awful either. I never wanted to leave and I had a good laugh from time to time because it was just too bizarre. That’s probably not the way the producers intended but who cares... ^^ I don’t regret spending 20€ on it but I wouldn’t go back.

I saw this today and... errr... I really don’t know what to say.
This was kind of like a car crash. It’s so horrible but you still have to look...
I am a native German speaker and honestly I had no idea what was being said or sung. The Austrian dialect is so hard to understand. Thank god they had those surtitles. I would have been totally lost without them.
I didn’t know any of the songs but Macho, Macho! But I can’t believe those are Austrian hits. I mean really? Whatever drugs the person who wrote those songs was on, I want some of them too.
I can’t complain about the cast tho. They were all doing a good job and the staging was awesome too. But the rest not so much.
Thank god I only paid 20€. The seat I was in was worth 120€. I pity everyone who spends that kind of money on that show... 🙈

You think ? Not ATG not wanting you to see they haven’t released a whole bunch of seats better than the ones they’ve fobbed you off with then ? Well I checked today with a friend who was looking for tickets as well and didn’t have priority yesterday and when we got in it didn’t look like they had released anything better than what I bought yesterday. We tried a couple of dates and changed seats and Bands quite a lot but everything that came up was either restricted view or way back for way too much money. I bought her a good seat yesterday so she does not have to miss out completely but we didn’t buy any other tickets today. The tickets that were left were just not worth the price.

Took me half an hour to get through on the phone - it sounds like there was a complete balls-up with the Pinter at Pinter ticket holder priority booking. Well judging by all those twitter posts the majority of ticket holders did not get a link. The poor people that were handling those social media accounts today are the real heroes! 🙈 Congrats on swapping your ticket! ☺️

I'm done now too. I might have just spent half of my salary on this but I'm quite happy with the outcome. Twice Row D center, one Row C and one Row K all in the stalls over the course of the run... That was one hell of a ride... 🙈

Out of interest, has anyone had luck getting a response from asking JLC / ATG via Twitter for the link? I've not heard anything but am not sure if I've sent to the wrong place, or am just at the end of a long backlog. Yes, I got a response from ATG with a link. I'm now in the queue.

Thank you for all your help on my last question. Since I talked with a friend yesterday I’ve now got another one... 🙈
I’m planning on booking two shows with two tickets each so I won’t step over the ticket limit. The first show has to be a specific date and I’m looking for seats as close to the stage as possible so that is the priority show, if you want to call it that. For the second one there are more possible dates and times and my friend doesn’t want to spend that much money so it wouldn’t be that important to get the best seats.
So to ensure the best tickets for the first show I was planning on selecting them first and completing the transaction. Then see what else is left on the other dates and pick the second set of tickets and then pay for them in a second transaction (but with the same account and credit card).
Well now my friend said she thought the link to the presale might expire after one purchase. I don’t think so but now I’m insecure about it (thank you very much, my dear friend... 🙈).
I really don’t want to put the first tickets into my basket and then search for the others to pay for them all at the same time. I’m too afraid of them getting kicked out of my basket because of high demand (I had that happen to me at concert presales before).
I’ve asked ATG already but they have not responded yet (I’m not in the uk and I don’t have a landline so calling them is not really an option so I have to rely on email correspondence...)
What do you think? Is it safe to assume that multiple purchases with one presale link are possible as long as I use the same atg account and credit card and don’t step over the ticket limit?
Gosh, this is stressing me out way more than it should... 🙈

I‘m very nervous about that too. Coriolanus sold out so quickly and while this one is bigger I’m still super scared to miss out.
Do you think they will limit the number of tickets one can buy?

For some previous Jamie Lloyd Company productions they mailed a pre-sale link to people who had booked for their previous productions. So in theory if you booked direct for your Pinter ticket you should get this. For a previous pre-sale I didn't get the mail but they were very helpful on twitter sorting it out for me. Awesome, thank you! 😊 I hope I’ll get a link then!

Does anybody on this board have experience with the priority sale?
It says:
„General on-sale is 9am Friday 30 November, with priority on-sale to all previous The Jamie Lloyd Company ticket bookers, Ambassador Theatre Group Theatre Card members and Pinter at the Pinter ticket holders at 9am Thursday 29 November.“
I get the first two, but what exactly does „Pinter at the Pinter ticket holders“ mean? Do I qualify if I’ve got a ticket for Pinter 3 in two weeks for example? How do they check this? Or is there something like a season ticket? I‘m a little confused by this.

I would totally ban it too.
I live very close to Poland (the border is actually right behind my apartment building) so I always get to deal with those awful polish firecrackers that people like to smuggle. Those things sound like bombs and a lot of people are blowing off their hands or fingers every year. Seriously, I couldn’t care less. That’s natural selection at its best. But I really hate the noise...
I have been celebrating New Years in London for many, many years now and I’m always amazed at how calm everything is.
Celebrating New Years in Berlin always felt like war. Stupid people throwing firecrackers at everything and everyone. I remember those days when we had to run to cross the street to not get hurt. Horrible... I can’t wait to get away from all of that after Christmas each year...

I’ve also had some swapping requests.
Once at Dance of the Vampires in Vienna the house was full so I couldn’t sit with my friend. She let me have the better stall seat and booked herself one in the circle. So right before the show started a woman approached me and asked me to swap seats with her as I was alone and so she could sit with her friends. Her seat was at the very end of the row and clearly very restricted view so I declined. I later found out that her seat was about 1/3 of the price of mine. Well I think she thought it was worth a try... o.O
On the other hand when I was at Book Of Mormon in London last month I was seated in the middle of a group of friends. They asked me if I wanted to move so they could all be together and they told me I could choose the side to which I wanted to move. Of course I chose the one closer to the middle of the row and had an excellent view.
So this can clearly go both ways.

I saw this twice this week. And I have to say it’s so much better live than on the CD. I liked the CD to begin with, but it’s very different on stage and it’s so much fun. At our first visit Ethan Slater was out. Although the understudies did a good job, I was a little disappointed because I was so used to Slaters voice from the CD and it just felt weird hearing someone with a deeper voice sing the songs. The second visit was kind of unplanned. We had absolutely no luck with any lotteries or TKTS that day so we decided to see Spongebob again (a bargain for 30$). This time Ethan Slater was on and boy was he fantastic. His performance was so energetic. He just was Spongebob. I hope he gets the Tony. He deserves it. It’s such a feel good show. The audience loved it (and we did too). Too bad it’s not exactly a hit. Maybe the Tonys can help but I don’t think it will survive much longer than the end of the year. Such a shame...

When I was in Vienna, the first cast Alfred was off and we saw both of the understudies.
Daniel Eckert blew me away. He was just the cutest thing, he sang beautifully and his acting was really good. I’ve seen many Alfreds but he was the best. Hands down. Of course he’s the second understudy at the moment... -.-
We also saw the first understudy and that was a very different story. His singing and acting were a catastrophe and he wasn’t even nice to look at... Total fail...

I first saw Tanz der Vampire in Stuttgart in 2000 when I was 15 years old and fell in love with it. It wasn't my first musical (that was Starlight Express... ^^) but it started my love for musicals in general. I saw it a lot (and I mean A LOT - I'm not proud of that anymore... ) when it was in Berlin in 2006/2007 when I lived only a short underground ride away from the theatre. When it concluded it's run in Berlin I went on and saw other shows (I started going to London to see shows in 2007) and kind of lost interest in Tanz because there were much better things around. I saw it again when it came back to Berlin and I wasn't impressed by the cuts they had made and the Cast back then so I never saw it again... until last December when I went to visit a friend in Vienna. And I have to admit that I fell in love again. My god, the Vienna version is so much better than the German one (which only proves how sh*tty Stage Entertainment really is). I loved the huge orchestra, the new sets and projections and the new costumes. It felt fresh again. I saw two shows and I had an amazing time. I will go back to Vienna in June to see it again before it closes. But I don't want to see a German production of it again after that... It's just no match. I haven't seen Bat out of Hell yet. I guess I will go on my next London trip. I'm really curious about that one.

I understand that. What I’m criticising is that they did not tell us anything. Everything we got was “sorry we are experiencing some technical difficulties. We’re trying to fix them. Thank you for your patience.” We heard that for over an hour.
I guess the audience would have been a lot more understanding if they had told us what was really going on. Nobody knew they couldn’t even raise the curtain. The poor ushers didn’t know anything either and couldn’t help.
I asked a lady who was giving me a letter about refunds what had happened. Only she told me a short version.
Everyone I saw while leaving was really disappointed, sad or grumpy.
I don’t blame anyone for what has happened. I will get my money back and it will be fine but the whole situation could have been handled a lot better.

I feel they did handle this very badly tonight. There was absolutely no information what was going on. They only said there were difficulties and then they opened up the bars again. They opened up the auditorium late so I’m sure they knew a lot earlier so they could have been a little bit more honest to the audience. Or they could have sent out someone from the cast to sing a song in front of the curtain to calm the audience (happened at Ghost once). But one hour of waiting and then a simple sorry we can’t fix it. Get a refund and go home... There were children crying in the audience. I’ve seen the show before and I actually was only there to see Sophie as Glinda who was off anyway but I came from Germany and I could have watched another show. So I’m a bit bitter now as well... even though I know things like that can happen of course...

Josh returns early December. I think Anton might have another job lined up in late November so he could leave mid November. Not sure though. I'd say if you want to see Anton try and go before November (he does have a few holidays booked - check his Facebook page for those). For Josh early December till late February is the time to go - he might stay longer but that hasn't been decided yet. Is Joshs return confirmed yet? I couldn’t find anything about it on the net. I revisited the show yesterday. Last time was 8 years ago I think... ^^ I had totally forgotten how great it was. And Anton is so damn cute... We immediately bought tickets to go again in early February next year and I would love to see Josh. I really hope that will work out.

My point is there is no real ending or resolution in the book or plot and you leave the theatre with the feeling that it was not complete. I did not feel this way at all. It's a pretty happy ending. Well... spoiler I guess... . . . She finally has the guts to leave Earl. As soon as she has LuLu she falls in love with her and realises it was the best decision to have her. She even gets her own diner from Earl because she was a true friend to him. And she realises it was wrong to have that affair and unfair to Dr. Pomatters wife so she breaks it up. Basically she's finally able to live a happy life. And even Dawn found true love in Ogie. When I watched the movie I was really rooting for Jenna and Dr. Pomatter and I was kind of disappointed they didn't end up together. But it's still a nice ending. And I loved the ending in the show. I thought it was a real feel good moment.
