And at the same time, it's best not to be unpleasant about people when it *could* be mental illness.

Sold out completely now so thank goodness I bagged a ticket in time for tomorrow. Can't wait to see it again! If you're there tomorrow night and you spot me say hello Jonny. I'm the big fella with a beard. And if you don't want to say "are you burly." my real name is Matthew Aw shame. I'm there for the matinee. The evening had sold out before I could get a ticket. Enjoy the final night!

Without wanting this thread to become a discussion about mental health, people tend not to understand that there is an infinite number of degrees of mental illness and no-one can really (or has the right to) state what is going on in another person's mind.
It's encouraging that SS is on the mend, though, and perhaps the date was just chosen to emphasise that SS *is* returning. Perhaps they thought that if a date wasn't mentioned, they'd be seen as fobbing everyone off. It may or may not be an accurate date. As Emilyrose says, it's hard to state when you'll be well enough after something like this, but maybe they felt obliged to state a date when it's *likely* she'll be back.

Sad that mental health in whatever form it takes is not taken as seriously as physical illness. There has been no official line, sometimes people do throw mental health out there for anything and it isn't always MH related. Having been a sufferer myself, I don't really understand this announcement, as you just cannot say 'I am going to be well enough on July 11th' if you haven't been well enough for this amount of time. The announcement said no later than that date so it's still suitably vague. And technically, if someone throws mental health out there then that in itself is some sort of mental issue. None of us know what's been going on behind the scenes so it seems grossly unfair to be derogatory to someone in Sheridan's position without knowing the truth. (Not you, Emily - I'm talking generally.)

Booked this over Show Boat If I'm honest, if I were actually taking a trip on either of them, I'd prefer a ticket on the Cotton Blossom, though... Ha! While you're here, I need to thank you for your seating plans and seat information, INVALUABLE for all my theatre trips

Booked this over Show Boat. I just couldn't get interested enough in Show Boat to commit to booking it.

I feel sorry for Natasha, it must be a real shame for her to have all this time playing the role and then as soon as Sheridan comes back it'll be "Sorry, SHE'S back now, so we don't need you." I understand that Natasha knew it would only be a few weeks, but it must be a little annoying. Yes, but she's had a chance she'd never have dreamed of and she'll surely stand out more now for future roles. I don't think she'll mind.

Interesting. Maybe this is a strong hint then. We booked on the strength of Sheridan but if she's not up to it then her health is more important.

Hmm. But the email isn't from an official source, is it?

Saw this afternoon. Blown away! When the cast all came together in song it was spine tingling. I'm going to listen to the soundtrack a bit now and then might just have to book again for next week!

Ah got you!
I've just returned my seats in exchange for centre of third row. Backs I can deal with. Stage being cut off... not so much!

Those seats are really awful, I feel pity and horror for those who will sit near Mark Shenton on opening night ?? You said the stage seats looked good a few posts back!

I bought the extreme end of front row stage seats the other day... I wonder if it's worth exchanging them for more central, further back ones??
Poor of them not to be classed as restricted view if this is the case.

Anyone see Sexual Perversity in Chicago? That was a great cast but I have so little memory of the play itself. I think I remember being distinctly underwhelmed by it.

Well this is looking great. Thanks a million to all who helped transfer the forum. I couldn't do without it. I may not have time to post often but I rely on this for my theatre fix on a daily basis!

Anyone watching? I'm up to episode 4 and really enjoying it. Jonas Nay needs to get on the London stage so I can admire his beautiful face in person!

Interesting points here!
It's harder, I suppose, for people who don't live in London. I come down from Manchester several times a year and there's just no way I can plan ahead to book tickets that far in advance. Consequently, I'm finding myself being 'targeted' by price hikes nearer the time.
Just checked on the dates I was considering for this - the seats have pretty much all gone! So somebody is buying them! And who can blame the theatre for trying to get as much money as possible? It might not be ethical but it's a business at the end of the day.
Oh, what's this I see? Row T seats available in the stalls... £100 each. What?! And I'm sure they were £90 just yesterday!
Oh well...

One of the best things I've seen at this theatre.
Tender and funny throughout and Julie Hesmondhalgh is just magnificent. Fine supporting cast.
The last few seconds are SO good. Shocking, heartbreaking, uplifting and raw power all at the same time. I walked home shaking and in tears.
Just brilliant.

What is going on with theatre prices?! I've brought my family to London several times a year for 15 years and the pricing has just gone crazy in recent times. I used to cringe at paying £60 a seat front stalls but this is just ridiculous. I fear regular theatregoers are being priced out of 'starry' shows.
When I was under 26 I got a front row seat for £12. And now it's £140... I'll have to pass. Not paying £60 for a crappy seat.
