Everyone wants to work at the world-famous Crucible Theatre. Everyone!
As Samantha Womack herself said when interviewed on the wireless, "Sheffield at Christmas looks just like New York."

But will Terry Gilliam really suffer any consequences? He's 80 years of age and, with this one exception, probably has no other ambitions left to fulfil. When he shuffles off this mortal coil, it wouldn't have been his Into The Woods that all the obituaries focus on.
It's everyone else who will suffer the consequences, almost as collateral damage. That doesn't seem right.

I've had chicken and mushroom soup for tea. Slightly disappointing if I'm honest. It were neither one thing nor t'other.
Probably didn't help that, in trying to multitask, I spilt half the tin on the kitchen floor. Just as well I gave it the once over with the Vileda earlier in the week!

Although I'm sure, considering his vast wealth, ALW does own some land, I wouldn't have thought he has the other kind of estate...on account of him still being alive!

Rather unfair on Leah Hausman.
In the future, either nobody will give interviews or, if they do, they'll be like the "no comment" police interviews we see on TV.

The problem with calling it the St James or the Westminster is it isn't really in either!
It should really be called the Taxpayer Funded, as I suspect, based on absolutely nothing, some of the purchase price came from the Culture Recovery Fund.

Time for John Godber to make a triumphant return to London's glittering West End. The tour of Sunny Side Up ends next week...in Hull, obvs. Four stars from The Guardian, compared to just three for this!

If you're wondering what mithering is, Forrest, it's a word used in the north (and by expats on missionary work). If his mithering didn't work, Dan's son would have the monk on.

I think it was John and Johannes' trousers that held them back, especially John's.
And was there really any need for such filth from the pub landlady?

Code LEGEND reduces tickets to £19.50, which is less than half price for some price bands. Cheaper than putting the heating on!

Yes, he's the 'star', but as he previously earned his living as a professional dancer, he does have a slight advantage over our lot.

I'm reminded of what I think was the 80th anniversary of Sheffield City Hall, with Sir Mark Elder, the Halle Orchestra and Lesley Garrett.
Although our Lesley was singing unamplified, she was using a mic on a stand for the bits in between, which must have been left 'up'. After two songs and three talky bits, this voice shouted down from the gods: "Can you turn microphone off. It's buzzing."
Apapros of nothing, but it was quite funny. Only in Yorkshire!

Are you counting the left column on your paws, BurlyBeaR, rather than the right? There's No Performance on Tuesday...unless she's the third cover. 🙂

What we all want to know, anthony40, is did you and BB have an ice cream during the intermission and, more importantly, who paid? 🙂

You know how, in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Ray keeps turning up with strangely named confectionery? Well, I'm just back from Poundland with a box of Malt Balls.
25p they were, and they aren't even out of date for another eight days!
I shall enjoy them as I watch Dame Judi's ancestry being revealed.

The trend in restriction-free Scandanavia is becoming quite problematic, especially when compared to the heavily restricted Baltic states. I'm sure someone will invent a perfectly logical explanation.
If there's a version of TheatreBoard in Sweden, I'm reasonably certain its members don't spend their time catastrophising.

Isn't it more likely that she has been released from her contract, rather than breaking it? For all we know, she and her agent may have had a clause inserted for just such a scenario.
There may have been false advertising, but our contract is with the theatres, not Lucie Jones.

I'm not familiar with Rowes, but Tribute is now available nationally...even in the grim north.
That pub up the alley near the Adelphi Theatre was selling it for £3 a pint when I was there this summer. Cheers! 🍺

I wouldn't dream of giving timetable advice to an expert, BurlyBeaR. And because you've left it to the last minute, as usual, I suppose all the cheap advance tickets have now gone? At least you'll be able to use your senior railcard. 😁

Don't quote me...but you can quote Tim Minchin. At exactly 12.32 this afternoon, he announced to the nation, via Claudia Winkleman and Radio 2, that Groundhog Day would indeed be returning, initially for a limited run, about a year from now.
