Any free of charge upgrade is, of course, to be welcomed, and physical tickets too, but I'm slightly disappointed that TodayTix weren't 'reaching out'. 🙂

I have this recollection that the Adelphi, previously owned outright by Nederlander, became the sweeter that secured the rights for Sunset in both London and New York. Nederlander probably thought, or hoped, it was going to be as successful as Phantom, which by 1993 had already been running for seven years. You win some, you loose some!
Then again, even I am wrong sometimes, so may be misremembering.

It's really not helpful to describe people who die of natural causes as "victims".
As a nation, we've painted ourselves into a corner with this 28 days definition. Viruses circulate in hospitals, and hospitals are full of ill people.

Motsi should have left the building site 15 minutes earlier, to give her time to change out of her hi-viz.
Miranda Hart isn't as funny as she thinks she is.
The same dance can't score both 4 and 9.
Was that Kara Tointon in Team Tom?
The title is Rose and Giovanni's to lose.

Look, hairspray57, I like you, up to a point, and I'm actually on your side, but just ask for a refund. In the unlikely event that ATG refuse, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

To avoid any problems, it may be worthwhile spending a few minutes reading the relevant section of the Boots website, and pre-registering an NHS log-in. www.boots.com/services/covid-19-testing/nhs-lateral-flowNB: Boots also provide private LFTs, for a fee, though I'm sure they won't try to push anyone down that route.

Shouldn't a playwright always be in the rehearsal room of a new piece, for last minute finessing?
71 Coltman Street opens on 17 February, so the National can have him back on the 18th...unless Caroline Quentin is in the middle of another house renovation! 🙂

Over the last three decades, the Criterion has carved out something of a niche as the home of last-minute slow-selling long-runners, if I can put it like that.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare - March 1996 to April 2005.
The 39 Steps - September 2006 to September 2015.
The Comedy About a Bank Robbery - March 2016 to March 2020.
It doesn't scan, but a of name change to The Pride and Prejudice would guarantee success* (*sort of)! 🙂

Richard Bean is currently busy working on 71 Coltman Street, a new play to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hull Truck. He can't be in two places at once!

The Saturday matinee in Sheffield was cancelled, with five of the cast ill, so it does happen.

Yes, vaccine passports have been such a roaring success in mainland Europe. Numbers aren't soaring, workers aren't on strike and there hasn't been a single demonstration. That's the way to go.

The full tour is going to be much longer than the five dates above. At Sheffield's Lyceum from 31 May to 5 June 2022, for example.

Saturday 10 December 2022 to Saturday 21 January 2023 for the Crucible leg.
"And we end our anniversary year with the triumphant return of Standing at the Sky's Edge, the epic play with music by Chris Bush and Richard Hawley."

Every day in the steel city is special, but today is extra special. The world-famous Crucible Theatre opened exactly 50 years ago. Happy birthday dear friend. And before anyone asks, no, I wasn't there. My earliest memories are of the legendary pantos with Marti Caine and Bobby Knutt. In the days of large employers with sports and social clubs, whole performances would be block booked. No parents, just children, or maybe I'm misremembering. I do remember our tickets came with a voucher that could be swapped for a bag of spice. My brothers and I had an afternoon at the theatre, plus a belly full of E numbers, for the grand total of 12p to get there and back on the bus. Happy days! Over to you, BurlyBeaR.

Leopoldstadt wasn't due to end its initial run until 22 June 2020, after which there would have been about 10 days to reconfigure the Wyndham's auditorium.
Far from ideal, but I guess in the current climate it's just too risky.

David Pugh has thanked the 124 investors in Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of). Is this a large number, small or about average for this type of production? Devoting just one hour to each would take over five days solid!
(If you regret not being involved in Art, you can't be him either. 🙂)

Had they thought on and had everyone properly attired, they could have released a DVD alongside all the other formats.
There's no way I'd pay £9.99 to watch someone playing the violin in athleisure!

Was it the review in the New York Times or the New York Post that made ALW see red?
Were the cast on stage or in their dressing rooms?
Is it Mallorca or Majorca?
What's Cinderella tea and is it on sale at the merchandise stand?
So many questions...!

I had no idea that big stars communicated by flower. It's a whole new world. I wonder if different colours have different meanings?
At least Ariana Grande wrote her own card, though she does seem to have a problem with capitals!

You'll love it, our david, as will everyone else. It was the first first night last night, and it's the second first night tonight. Got that? I'll eat my bonnet if we don't see only 4 and 5 star reviews. Still not a musical, though.

Under an hour, BurlyBeaR? 😉 If steps are an issue, alece10, it's worth noting that you'll enter the Crucible auditorium about 2/3 of the way back. With few exceptions, you'll have to either walk down steps to your seat, or up steps.

It's always worth checking fares between King's Cross and Doncaster.
For example, on Saturday 18 December it's currently possible to book a return for £33.90. Then a return between Doncaster and Sheffield can be as low as £4.
If the connections work, the journey time isn't actually that much longer.

Everyone wants to work at the world-famous Crucible Theatre. Everyone! As Samantha Womack herself said when interviewed on the wireless, "Sheffield at Christmas looks just like New York." I don’t know what parts of New York Ms Womack has been frequenting then! I did find myself smiling at the time, but it was kind of her to say it. There's no point going on local radio to sell tickets, and then being honest!
