I personally don't stage door anymore unless someone gives a really outstanding, life changing performance, which I doubt is going to happen for me at Wicked any time soon. I honestly don't get the need for stage dooring regularly.

Amy has kind of a Donna Vivino vibe about her. I'm definitely a fan and I'm so looking forward to seeing her in the role. (I'm currently experiencing peak Wicked fandom, so I'm going to try and meet her at the stage door pre-show because she'll never come out between shows) As someone who is also peak Wicked fandom, she gets to work around half 12 on a 2 show day. I met her myself on Wednesday. It will be my first and last time stage dooring before a show, it felt awkward. Of course it would feel awkward - at this point you hadn't even seen the show yet, you can hardly compliment someone on their performance before seeing them in the show.

Only recently discovered Drag Race and I got caught up quite quickly. Don't want to spoil anything for anyone but I was very pleased to watch the most recent queen sashay away.

If the person sitting next to me continues biting his nails throughout the second act he won't have any nails left. Is Verity on? Yes she was. She was great, again.

I actually imagined the fans as the people who get their photo/programmes signed and go home. Then the people who wait for you at the stage door to be the overly obsessed people who think they own Wicked and its cast members.

I might be in the minority here but having seen Natalie McQueen in Wonderland I actually don't think her voice is that great.

It was a video of the Broadway cast performing "Welcome to the rock." Some of the other songs were quite good too. I am cabin crew for an airline - so it could just be that I find the subject interesting.

I don't get why they are having three actresses play Cher at different stages of her life. Cher has looked the same for the past few decades - surely one actress and a few good wigs would be enough?!

I just listened to ONE song from this musical to see what the fuss was about and now I know. I'll have to take a drive to Dublin to catch this.

Android phones can use the Google Play music app - it's the only music app I use. You can also download it on Apple devices too if you want to try and use it before making the switch. It does pretty much everything it should do and you can upload your own music to your account so you always have it even if you change your phone. Is there a way to transfer my current library of music on my computer to it quite easily? (Preferably with my playlists too.) The link below should be the steps you are looking for; support.google.com/googleplaymusic/answer/1075570?hl=en-GBIt might be a little time consuming uploading your music but it saves so much space on your phone and it's very handy to have your music saved to your account. I recently switched to a Google phone so if you have any more questions i can try and help.

Well it was less of a conversation, and more of being shouted at for not agreeing that Alice was the second coming of Christ! I found it very entertaining to read. I would hate to be sitting next to her at a performance of Wicked without Alice as Elphaba.

After seeing that video of Amy I might try and get a ticket for the tour. I do enjoy a good growl .

Not again. This show had two out of town tryouts in the US (DC and Chicago) that were supposedly pre-Broadway. None of this material is really good and the score is so bland. I don't understand why they never used to the film soundtrack for this stage adaptation. There is an abridged version of Wind Beneath My Wings, but that's all. I do agree with everything you have said, the main problem with this show (for me) is the music - I don't believe Iris Rainer Dart should have anything to do with the score. However, Beaches is my favourite film and I loved both of the books, so I would be very excited to see this in London.

As much as I enjoy some of Alice's riffs, they are sloppy in comparison to any of Shoshana's riffs.

I just read this article from the Bristol post: www.bristolpost.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/man-who-travelled-somerset-watch-1290145I found this particular extract amusing: 'However, the venue has just put out another update on social media saying that ticket holders who can no longer make the Bristol performance of Wicked will be able to watch it at the Apollo Victoria theatre in London instead, where it is headed next on its UK tour.' I didn't realise the London production had closed 😂.

You think men don't get body shamed? We are not going to agree on this unfortunately so I think it best to end the conversation here.

I still stand by my comments regardless of how much I'm hated for it.
And I do believe size does matter to an extent. If a skinny actress was hired to play Tracy in Hairspray, comments would be made, if a tall child towering over Miss Hannigan was hired to play Annie, comments would be made. From what we have seen from the film and all previous stage productions of Legally Blonde we are lead to believe that Elle is the popular girl with the perfect hair and perfect body because she works out to Brooke Wyndham's workout video all the time, so I do believe size matters. I did not say Lucie is fat because I don't think she is, but she is bigger, which many people at the show commented on.

I also may be out line saying this but Lucy is slightly bigger than the other girls in the show (I think she may have lost her copy of Brooke Wyndham's workout video) although I feel like the terrible costumes didn't do her any justice. I'm afraid I really think you are out-of-line saying this. What does Lucie's size matter to the role. Elle Woods is supposed to be a beautiful girl and that Lucie is. And I don't think she's "big" at all by even the crazy size standards of today's society! I did not say Lucie should not be playing Elle. I am simply stating a fact that she is bigger than quite a lot of the girls in the cast to reinforce my statement about the terrible costumes as they do make her look bigger than she is.

It is also slightly irritating that when *most* of the cast said Warner's name they didn't pronounce the "R," pronouncing it Wawner instead. Just a small annoyance I know - but I have noticed when people from England try an American accent the letter "R" is what they struggle with most.

I went to see the matinee in Belfast earlier today. The Grand Opera House really needed to turn the heating up, it was absolutely freezing.
Anyway - back to the show. I have seen Legally Blonde twice in London and loved everything about it but unfortunately I felt the opposite about this production. The set throughout looked flimsy, cheap and tacky. Speaking of tacky, there were some very strange costume choices. I found it hard to believe Elle would choose to wear quite a few of those dresses. I also need to mention the noisy pom poms in "What You Want" - they were louder than the singing.
Performance wise, it took me a while to warm to Lucy Jones as Elle - she has a very nice voice but i'm not sure about some of her acting choices. The rest of the cast were fine, they all had great energy. The standouts for me were Rita Simmons as Paulette and Helen Petrovna as Brooke and the actress playing Serena (I didn't buy a programme so I'm not sure of her name).
I also may be out of line saying this but Lucy is slightly bigger than the other girls in the show (I think she may have lost her copy of Brooke Wyndham's workout video) although I feel like the terrible costumes didn't do her any justice.
Overall (In my opinion) I am surprised this particular production is touring the UK. Costumes, set, choreography and direction were not as good as they could have been. The best thing about this production are the cast, but I still won't be making a second visit.
Also that megamix at the end needs to stop - it made this production that bit more painful.

Oh yes, that's true - but the only people who should be embarrassed about that are the people involved in the Mexican wave and waving the glow sticks.

There is no audience participation so you shouldn't be embarrassed. You might be a little bit embarrassed when this topic gets locked and moved to the Wicked thread though.

From what I have heard of Marisha, her phrasing sometimes sound quite strange which results in her making some unpleasant nasally sounds.
