I had the pleasure of seeing the original production in London twice before so I am very excited by this news.

Is this going to have the original costumes and set? If so I will be there. If it's going to be like the recent tour I will give it a miss.

At the matinee of Lion King today, three women decided to upgrade themselves from the back of the upper circle to the front of the upper circle as there were two rows empty. I felt so smug when a class of school children were led in to the two empty rows after "circle of life." The women had to come back to their original seats, apologising to everyone on the way past as they were in the middle of the row.

Who's playing Glinda this week with Sophie off?

I feel a person of any colour can play that character. Calling it white washing sounds a bit harsh.

Oh good heavens, not again! Hasn't Barbra Streisand been rumoured to be doing a film version of Gypsy for about 146 years now?? I agree that Melissa McCarthy probably isn't right for the role but it did make me think how they always age up when casting Madame Rose when at the start with the two young girls she's probably meant to be 30's? Maybe younger? How about casting a younger actress/singer? Can Kelly Clarkson act, she would certainly deliver on the songs? When Kelly did Sound of Music Live one wag on twitter suggested that her understudy was a plank of wood. Kelly’s response? ”mean people need Jesus. I’ll pray for you tonight” 😬 Carrie Underwood was in Sound of music live.

I was just checking the returns for this show and got two £37.50 tickets for the evening performance on Saturday. Very excited to see it again.

I got to see this earlier this week and although I enjoyed it and thought the cast were wonderful, I do feel it doesn't belong in the West End.

Just back from today's matinee. I went in knowing Karl was the understudy but if I didn't know I still would be none the wiser. I thought he and the entire company were amazing.

Also - is it just me that thought Paul's black shoes with his white suit just did not go together?

The man behind me at Company this evening did not stop kicking my seat for the entire performance. He had a coughing fit during the second act and part of me wished this would get so bad that he would have to leave the show early, however, he survived and the kicking continued.

Really enjoyed this evening's performance. This is a very clever production with some lovely performances. I do agree with most of the posts on here although I feel Patti LuPone is overrated.

It finally worked. Got all my tickets for my trip in January so I'm very happy 😁. I think the site was just extremely busy and it seemed to be luck of the draw.

I'm still using chrome but I have also got as far as you have. Once I submit my card details it asks for them again. I have never wanted to buy something as much in all my life!!

I’ve created an account, clicked the book here button, but only get a black box as a pop up saying priceless cities- I can’t get further than this point. I’ve tried on my phone and work computer. It just keeps saying invalid session. That's exactly what is happening to me. I am pretty sure it's the website and not something that I am doing wrong - either way it is very frustrating.

I saw Carole as Rachel twice and thought she was brilliant. I wouldn't mind seeing her in the role again. I really don't think it's a "beast" of a role at all.

Airline pilot makes a lot more sense in this iteration than flight attendant. I mean, in what corner of the western world are there any STRAIGHT male flight attendants LOL? I'm cabin crew and I'm gay (not sure which point I'm trying to prove here) but there are quite a lot of straight male cabin crew - in my previous airline there were definitely more straight male crew than gay male crew.

they've just extended to November 2019 for Groups, so I suspect the general sale will follow imminently! Probably not the most relevant thread to ask this, but since you’ve brought it up - why do producers tend to put group bookings on sale in advance of general bookings? What’s the advantage over opening both up at the same time? Just a guess but it's probably easier to accommodate groups before random pairs and single seats have been sold.

Quite a lot of people have said this was better than the first movie and I went wanting to like it or at least appreciate what others did but sadly nothing in the film worked for me.

Went to see this tonight based on the positive comments on here. This was the worst thing I've EVER sat through at the cinema. I didn't enjoy the first Mamma Mia movie very much either but this was definitely worse.

What a ridiculous comment to make - ‘I KNEW it wasn’t going to be anywhere near as good’ etc... I too was there. This is one of the finest company of singers and performers on the touring circuit today!! What were you watching?? Maybe you were the only person sat down at the end when everyone else was standing applauding and generally have a great time. Stay at home next time... Calm down. This production is VERY cheap in comparison to the West end production. The performers are very good but everything else about this production (including the megamix at the end) screams amateur.

Have any of the songs had their key lowered for this production?

Can't help but compare this production to the original. Costumes don't look as good and the choreography isn't very good. Carrie Hope Fletcher does not look like a Veronica at all.

Apparently she (Sarah) posted a video titled “How not to sing the Wizard and I” which had Laura Pick in it. I remember one time I commented on one of the audios of Laura something along the lines of “please promote her!” and got attacked by her saying “Laura is crap. Alice is the best.” Or something or other. Any Elphaba that isn’t Alice, Nikki B, Rachel or Amy W, she totally hates it seems. Where has this video shared? I'm curious to see it.

I was actually going to bring this up but I'm glad you beat me to it Daniel. Okay, I love a riff. I know that's a controversial opinion on this thread, but if Shoshana Bean wants to option up to notes nobody has ever hit before in a tasteful way to heighten a specific moment of the score, I'm completely fine with that. There are even riffs that I think should be made mandatory, like the "feeling things I'VE never felt" or extending the "look" in "look to the western sky". Let's talk about Alice. She's a very competent vocalist, she's actually got better attendance than almost any Elphaba, she has a brilliant belt and I genuinely would say that by the time she leaves she could be at Rachel Tucker / Kerry Ellis level of acclaim. I like many of her riffs, and if she wants to chuck one or two of them in from time to time, no complaints from me. What I find to be overkill is that she's doing effectively no more than five riffs, and then just implementing them on every other line. Her most common one is the "take it up two notes" which she does on "so if you care to find me", "to fly" and "from me". A riff should be a carefully thought out enhancement to the score, it shouldn't be a) an easier way of hitting what the composer has actually written, or b) a melody to rush over to avoid having to hold the same note. I think she needs to immediately half the number of riffs she does, and then work on each of them to make sure they are actually adding to her performance and aren't, as Sophie said, just a way of amusing herself 10 and a half months into the contract. Come on Alice, you're an excellent Elphaba, you don't need to do this. Alice does have a very good voice even though some of her riffs are quite a choice, but I personally do not believe she is on the same level as Rachel or Kerry.

This kind of thing is why I love theatre! I don't understand how a performer can leave their current job to help out at their previous place of employment? I know it's not the same thing but an employee at Asda couldn't just run over to Tesco to help out if they were a person down. I'm genuinely interested how things like this work if anyone has the answers.
