Ceiling down? Anybody know?
Yes, apparently part of the ceiling came down:
That’s my friend’s tweet. We were at the back of the stalls and about half an hour in there were suddenly shouts from the circle and people screaming. The actors were called off the stage as the house lights went up after about a minute or so of confusion. The ushers did an excellent job of getting everyone out so quickly. We saw a handful of people bloodied and dusty and one woman with her head bandaged. Fire engines on the scene pretty quickly but with both roads blocked with roadworks it wasn’t as accessible as it could have been. Hopefully everyone is ok

Cher and Christine Baranski are on The Graham Norton Show tonight.
Has a complete song list been published yet for the new film?

Saw this on Saturday night and I have no words for how incredible Bernadette Peters was. The emotion she bought to the role was so touching in places that the performance was elevated far and above that of Bette's, who I saw last year. There was a review that said 'Bernadette Peters descends a staircase like she invented stairs' - and watching her come down that set of stairs had me grinning from ear to ear.
Christian Dante White was on for Gavin Creel and I thought he was excellent. Charlie Stemp was brilliant and was good to see him being given extended dance numbers. There's such an energy and joy to this production that you can't help coming out of the theatre with a big smile on your face.

Saw this show on Broadway at the weekend and it blew me away. It’s the second show recently that’s quickly become a firm favourite of mine. The spirit, message, and joy of the show is so uplifting and infectious. I’d love a production to come to the UK. I was there for the Saturday matinee, knew nothing about it going in but totally worth the early start for rush tickets, even if we only got standing. Completely fell in love with it, it made me cry and it made me laugh and I cannot wait to see it again.

So we're getting Waterloo and Cher singing Fernando I've long been of the opinion that wine is my soul mate. Good to see Cher taking inspiration from Norma Desmond for her descent down the staircase.

linkSo Long, Why Did It Have To Be Me?, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room, He Is Your Brother, Elaine, Happy Hawaii to name but a few Oh yes to all of the above. I’d love a bit of ‘I’ve Been Waiting For You’ in there...and ‘As Good As New’. I could go on, but mustn’t! Julie Walters has confirmed a couple of songs in a recent interview in the Liverpool Echo: “I sing Angeleyes and I’ve Been Waiting For You with Christine Baranski and Amanada Seyfried, who plays Sophie the daughter in the first one, the three of us do those two." She also said that Dancing Queen is in it again link

Maybe she’ll be playing Aunt Sophia that Sophie was named after. Just been scrolling through Judy Craymer's instagram (which is pretty much all Mamma Mia 2 stuff) and there's a picture on there of her with Celia Imrie with the tag 'The fabulous Celia Imrie on the set of #MammaMia2' - maybe she's playing Aunt Sophia?

Randy Rainbow cheers up a hopeless Tuesday: I love his videos and this is another great one. My favourite is 'Alternative Facts' which has the brilliant line to Kellyanne Conway - 'I wasn't laughing at you, sweetie, I was coughing...alternatively'

A few years back watching Spamalot, two couples in their 70's sit in the row behind us, one of the men in a loud voice says 'of course I last saw Camelot with Burton years ago, so I'm intrigued by this updated production'. At the interval he said 'well, this is quite possibly the silliest thing I've ever seen......isn't it fun?'

Oh I might have to go and re-read that now you mention it. I'm about to start Graham Norton's novel, which according to my Mother was actually quite good (and the Mother has a low tolerance for poor books). I'm also re-reading 'Fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell which I find a comforting read reminiscent of my own University years. I'm halfway through 'Holding'. Wasn't really expecting to enjoy it as much as I am, but so far it's a good read

The front row does look like it would be a bit of a stretch but then aren't you paying something like £15 to sit there? What did they expect? The best view in the house? I was actually speaking to the person who was sat behind the four at the end of the show, she paid £12 for her seat and said that after they'd moved she had a perfect view for the whole of the second act.

Saw this last night and very much enjoyed it. Stockard Channing and Laura Carmichael were excellent but agree with others that Freema Agyeman was the weak link. Sat at the end of row K and had no problems with sound, there was no-one in the seat next to me either so had plenty of room! At the interval four people on the front row were complaining to the usher that they couldn't sit there any longer as the stage was far too high and they had sore necks, so they moved to empty seats a few rows back. Has anyone from here sat there yet?

That's the first episode of EastEnders I watched in over 10 or so years because I know the guy that Ian's shaking hands with, and I only watched it because he was going to be in it!

Like glossie mine wasn't a quiz show - my twin sister and I were 8 on 8/8/88 which apparently is newsworthy....so we were on Newsround, BBC & ITV national news and the local news channels and the papers. Main thing I remember was every camera crew or set of photographers bringing a cake so we could blow out the candles, to be honest every birthday since has been a major disappointment in the cake department

Have been away for a few days so I've now caught up - the fact it's on every weekday can be a bit of a challenge! My drinking game in the first week is to have a drink whenever Gary says 'someone in this room will be the winner of Masterchef 2017'....
Some of the stuff they made this week was amazing, that chocolate firework dessert was incredible. So pleased it's back, love this programme.

Can there be an exemption that allows celebs to do Strictly and a cooking show (I would have just said Bake Off but it's dead to me now so my celebrity cooking show fix is limited solely to Celebrity Masterchef!)? Well, obviously, as Queen I could bend the rules for, say, anyone from Poldark. If you like Masterchef poster J maybe you might like to know MCAustralia season 9 begins this evening on W. Once you've watched that you will not return to the crappy British one. It is jaw-droppingly awesome. I love Masterchef Australia - thanks for the heads up it starts tonight, thought it was about due but too scared to google in case of spoilers!

Saw this on Monday evening with the family, delayed start with someone coming onstage at around 19:40 to say that Miranda had been taken ill backstage so there would be a further delay whilst the understudy got ready. Anne Smith did a great job, as did the girl playing Annie.
My nieces and nephew (ages 6-12) loved it, my mum huffed that Miranda wasn't on, and my dad said 'well, it was ok but I wouldn't see it again' - he was asleep for most of it

I was there on Thursday and she mentioned that she'd had bronchitis three weeks ago. She pretty much coughed and cleared her throat after nearly every song but vocally she still sounded great.

The Duck House - mainly cos we'd had a few cocktails before hand and fell asleep after about 15 minutes. Oh, and a play with Keira Knightley and Damian Lewis in rhyming couplets - can't remember for the life of me what it was called - but I do remember the Spanish lady in the seat next to me who answered her phone and proceeded to have a conversation, despite me and everyone round her trying to get her to shut up!

I saw this twice at the weekend and if possible loved it more than before. Since April there have been some small changes, when Norma first appears her hair is slightly dishevelled and she's not wearing any jewellery, which is a pity because I loved that red necklace! Glenn was truly fabulous, standing ovations both times for As If We Never Said Goodbye. It was good to see Siobhan Dillon again, I'd seen her wonderful understudy Britney Coleman previously, and I do think that Fred Johanson is great as Max.
At stage door a member of the ensemble said that they are currently in discussions to take the production to Australia in November. Potentially for a week in Sydney and a week in Melbourne. Tbh he didn't sound pretty confident that it would happen but that was his reply when someone asked him if it was going to be extended, recorded, or transferred.

Do we know yet the plans with regard to the staging? I never saw the ENO production (one of my biggest life regrets!), but I always found the look of that set a lot more effective than what I have seen of the 90's set, which whilst lavish, I like the scaled down design. A couple of people have tweeted Ria Jones about the staging and her reply was that it is 'a fully staged production with the orchestra in the pit'

So many years after loving and semi-obsessing over the French hit Notre Dame De Paris (which had a questionable run in London- which I never saw), I got the chance to see the currently 20th Anniversary tour in Geneva. Overall, glad I saw it, despite having to spend an entire rainy day in Geneva and catching a flight out from the crack of dawn. I was also in Geneva last weekend (my friend was running in the marathon on Sunday) and only saw a poster for this in the airport on my return home, which was a shame. We ended up escaping the shocking weather for a couple of hours in a bar where the tab ended up costing more than the hotel - wish I'd spent the time seeing this instead! Glad you enjoyed it and your trip was worth it
