Wasn't it lovely that Rose and Giovanni's Titanic routine had simple unsung music and no whooping audience which begs the question is the hysterical cheering added to the soundtrack? I think the audience are consciously keeping quiet for her. I don't know if she is able to hear any of the music at all so they are trying to help, or whether they are doing it because she couldn't hear the wooping. Most of the audience signed clapping rather than actually clapping after her performance so it was noticeably quieter. What I really enjoyed about their performance was that there was very little messing around in their dance. They got into hold and stayed that way. I think this was so that she could follow him for the timing, but I really enjoyed it. I'm sick of so much faffing in the other dances, Len wouldn't have had it!

Hmmm I do really want to see that again, and my mum wants to see it live after watching the MTV version, but I really can't see it working in the open air?
Maybe that's just because all we've seen there is 7 Brides for 7 Brothers which really suited the setting, but to me those classic musicals with a bit of a western feel work best.

I am yet to see this. For anyone who has, I'm curious, how do they do the trolls? They are called the hidden folk now, and look more like forest fairies and satyrs but without the goat legs and horns!

I'd be happy to do it. Just dub my singing, Singin' in the Rain style and we're good to go!

Still not received my e-ticket for 7.30 Frozen performance tomorrow evening. My son had a booking for yesterday (Tuesday) evening and his ticket was only emailed to him at 16.35 on Monday. In my opinion just 27 hours in advance is too late and there must be people who leave home to stay in or near London without their tickets. Not everyone uses a smartphone for tickets. I don't. I'm about to leave for Wales and will travel from there to London tomorrow. I haven't received my e-ticket yet so have printed the confirmation email to collect it from the box office. Son tells me there was a huge queue for tickets when he arrived yesterday and show started about 8 minutes late suggesting plenty of people were in a similar position to me. My tickets arrived at 16:44 the day prior to my performance. I'm sure the box office will be open during the day for you to collect tickets so you don't need to join the throng as the theatre opens for the show.

I also forgot to mention that there have been two references (that I noticed) to Frozen 2 added in. {Spoiler - click to view} When calling on the Hidden Folk, the Queen states she is part of the Northuldra tribe which is why she knows how to call them.
And my favourite, Olaf does his "Samantha" line to one of the seagulls in "In Summer". So I was very happy he said my name again XD

We were also treated to an opening speech by Michael Grandage, who was interrupted a number of times by rapturous cheering and applause. It was really a special night to be back in the theatre for the first time in forever.

Since my opinion was asked for, I'll give my thoughts on the show.
The invited dress I mentioned in my earlier post was for Disney employees (we're based in head office and nothing to do with the theatre division so it was an unusual but nice perk). We had the option to get either Lion King tickets or Frozen. There was the usual frenzy for tickets as with any release, constant refreshing. I opted for Lion King as I'd already purchased tickets to the first preview of Frozen some time ago, unfortunately Lion King was postponed so I'm now going on Thursday.
I managed to speak to my colleague who'd attended the invited performance on a brief trip to the office, who really enjoyed the show as her first trip back to the theatre post covid.
For background, I saw the Broadway Production in May 2018 so have a dim recollection.
Spoilers ahead!
I understand that there have been a number of changes since I saw it on Broadway, including new songs. I can't speak to specifics without pulling out both programs to compare which I will do at some point, but overall I felt the show flowed much better, and there didn't really feel like any filler to me (other than Hygge).
Both the young actors were great, young Anna's character is one of the highlights of the show with how hyper she is, and young Elsa handled the contrasts within her part, of carefree play, followed by fear very well. There was a slight eyebrow raise when Elsa changed race during puberty, but hey it's a funny time for everyone with their bodies changing and was soon forgotten.
Reading the program there is a mention of Elsa's ice castle and why there was no staircase on Broadway, the excuse being that the stage wasn't deep enough. In this production we are treated to a lovely grand staircase sitting at the back of the stage (as per the cast bows photos). We don't get to see it emerge from the stage a la pride rock or anything, but it definitely makes the stage seem much more complete.
The real grand spectacle of the set is the ice bridge. As previous posters have noted it seems to go on and on forever to the point that it seems impossible for such a hefty piece of set to fit anywhere in the wings!
One thing I still wish they would change is the nudity in Hygge. That is really the only let down for me. I was on the edge of my seat when they were in towels, unable to remember if this was the same as Broadway, building to the nudity, or if they had gained some modesty, but unfortunately it was the former. I will never not cringe at the nude suits and branch slapping, in fact I think I might have blacked out for a bit. It's so cringey and unnecessary. Why couldn't we have a toweled kick line?!
I've never been to a preview before but honestly it felt like any other performance. Polished to perfection and the leads fit their roles perfectly. The only slight technical hitch- if it wasn't deliberate, I can't remember from Broadway- is the toy Olaf they make at the beginning's top half fell over, but Anna quickly righted him.
The highlight for me is the dress change. I could watch it all day and I'd love to watch it in slow-mo! I will definitely be making a return visit at some point. I have to at least go back to the shop to buy my souvenir brochure as unfortunately they weren't ready yet.
More thoughts when I've compared the programs.

There were rumours (more than rumours? honestly it was so long ago that I don't even remember) about them cutting or reworking Hygge. Has this happened? God I hope so.

Some of my work colleagues are going to an invited performance tomorrow then I'm off to the first preview on Friday. Excited to finally be going. If you need a + 1, I'm you're man. Just saying.... Sorry, bought the tickets for my mum a few Birthdays ago now! We saw it in NY a few years ago so I'm really interested to see what will have changed (hopefully some things!).

When I heard about Sean Lock's untimely departure, it made me think of this moment from Catsdown: I think he pretty much nailed the general response that has occurred.

I had my second Pfizer on Tuesday. Had physio for my hip straight afterwards so completely forgot about the jab until I went to bed and tried to lay on that arm. The following day I had a very slight temperature and headache, but have been fine since.
Overall I'd say my first one was worse as my arm was a lot more painful including nervy pain in my shoulder which drove me mad and lasted a few days.

12th to be announced after Eastenders at 8pm, so assuming it's a cast member.
Not sure how many we're expecting in total?

What are the conditions though, I'm trying and nothing is being taken off. Is it certain dates and price bands? It said Band B, the green seats. None in the stalls that I could see.

Cast AnnouncementJoining the previously revealed Adam Cooper will be Kevin Clifton as Cosmo, Faye Tozer as Lina, Charlotte Gooch as Kathy and Cavin Cornwall as RF Simpson. Is that for Sadlers' Wells? That's put me right off buying a ticket if so! Yep. I'm not sure I see Kevin as Cosmo, but I am almost tempted to see what the hell that looks like, though not necessarily at the prices I can find currently.

If it was to open in London after Dublin, I would have thought it would want to be in London for most of November and December and not move theatre during the busiest time. Cannot see it going into London in 2022. Also is the London Palladium availability hindered by the Michael McIntyre Show that happens around Christmas and is filmed at the London Palladium? We saw a Christmas recording of his show on the 10th Nov 2019.

Is this on in the UK? I searched for it the other week and I couldn't find it. I've not watched any of it yet.

On a related note, we've been sorting out our loft including our theatre programmes and we have two spare for the Regent's Park production if anyone would like them. Would just need to cover postage. For what it's worth we all enjoyed the production and felt it really suited the setting. ** Sam advises that the programmes have now gone. Burly.

Yep. Will be re-booked in the order of performance once they've decided on a new opening date.
Disappointing but not unexpected.
Nice video teasing the sets and costumes:

My thinking was on the same lines as Jonathan for Swan + a hint of Eastenders.
I've guessed two out of the three so far. No strong feelings on any of the others yet.

I guessed sophie. Not because I got any of the clues or could decipher her speaking voice, but her singing voice is quite distinctive.

If not the Palladium and I am sure the royal visit gave the panto elevation. If it couldn’t get a big London theatre, then maybe it could park up at Hammersmith. I wouldn't mind that provided we were back at the office by then since it's in spitting distance!
