For those who want a handy list: Marty McFly - Ben Joyce Doc Brown - Roger Bart Lorraine Baines - Amber Davies George McFly - Oliver Nicholas Goldie Wilson - Jordan Benjamin Biff - Harry Jobson Jennifer Parker - Sophie Naglik Strictland - Gary Trainor New Ensemble: Simeon Beckett, Sia Dauda, Tyler Davis, Glen Facey, Dylan Gordon-Jones, Adam Margilewski, Bryan Mottram, Jon Reynolds, Georgia Tapp Charley Warburton People staying on from the old cast: Emma Lloyd (Linda McFly), Will Haswell (Dave McFly / Marty Alt.), Anna Murray, Amy Barker, Cameron McAllister, Alessia McDermott, Laura Mullowney, Melissa Rose, Justin Thomas and Tavio Wright I don't know who the understudies are, but as Mark Oxtoby was Strictland and understudy Doc I suppose Gary Trainor will be the same. Oooo I think I saw Gary Trainor in School of Rock before.

Really put me off this now.
The contrast in vocal at the start was very stark. I also felt a lot of the comic timing was off in the second part of the song. It felt a little rushed and less like a conversation than it usually does.

I wonder if any of the canine characters are singing? Or if it’s just the humans? From the other photos in the article I'd say the dogs sing too since some of the people singing have tails on.

Booked tickets last night for a few weeks time. Literally 5 minutes from the office so been on the radar for a while. No seat reviews though so hopefully chosen right! Have requested seat plan add it to their site so we can start adding them. I was e20 and e21, 4th row, 4 in from the edge. The view was perfect, but it’s a really small studio with completely raked stealing. I guess if you are in the first 3 rows on the last couple of seats at each end it might be a bit sideways, but I don’t think there’s a bad seat anywhere. Edit: also, front row is floor level and you are about a metre away from the cast, so depends if you wanna be that close or not. Yeah my friend didn't want to be too close so I went for L, middle section on the aisle.

Unless you feel a desperate need to maintain the friendship I would just not get in touch. If/when they get in touch with you, you can explain that they hurt you and take their reaction from there. If they offer no form of apology or acknoledgement of your feelings then you are better off without them, if they do apologise it's up to you how you want to go forward and whether your friendship can recover.
If you want to more proactively address the issue to try and salvage the friendship you can, but it may only cause you more pain.

I saw the show tonight for the first time and I have to say I was incredibly underwhelmed. The good bits - Danny Mac was excellent, he can sing, dance, act and he doesn’t look bad either! He’s perfect for the role of Edward. Also Bob Harms is excellent and stole the show. Without his comedy and excellent performance I do fear that Pretty Woman would fall very flat. The rest was quite bad. Aimee Atkinson really wasn’t very good at all, her acting was so ‘extra’ and hammy, and was annoying. Also, she unfortunately does a really REALLY loud squeaky breath intake before every line she sings. I was actually cringing. The set looked cheap, but the costumes were good. The dancing was really good and the ensemble really gave it their all. The music isn’t very good, completely unforgettable. As you can tell I wouldn’t hurry back or even recommend this to a friend. I couldn’t help but think what an amazing Marty McFly Danny Mac would be, and BoB Harms could be Doc. They’d both be fantastic in Back to the Future across the Strand, just a thought. I saw it twice in the space of three weeks, which I was only enthusiastic to do because of Bob. I'd go just to watch him.

Lol if you think Stratford Westfields is big, wait until you see Shepherds Bush Westfields.
When I went I managed to park in car park B level 2 right by the exit out to the restaurants so it was a nice easy 15 minute walk to the arena and back.

Setlist spoilers below based on some twitter discussion I’ve seen - please only read if you’ve been to a rehearsal performance. On Monday night’s rehearsal the biggest song omitted from the setlist was Super Trouper, alongside Take a Chance On Me and Money Money Money. Instead we had the less-famous and unexpected Summer Night City and When All Is Said and Done, for example.
I’ve read that these were done to test audience reaction, and there may be some switching around of the setlist with the band recording mo-cap for more songs.
Did those who attended another performance to Monday have a different setlist? Wondering how this will affect the final setlist for opening on Friday.
Additionally, I didn’t think The Winner Takes it All was necessarily the obvious choice for the encore (though didn’t mind it personally) - are different songs being tested as the final song too? This was the same as Sunday. Noticed the same omissions and we had the same thoughts about the encore.

I genuinely could not tell that there were not actual people on the stage when looking at the stage itself. There even is a real band standing somewhat near the ABBAtars and I wouldn't say the difference showed in any way. The big screens show the CGI, but only because there are close ups of their faces- the girls singing in particular as CGI and teeth/mouth movements just doesn't work, but it's lightyears ahead of Ugly Sonic. Ugly Sonic isn't the best example because that was just a bad design choice but I agree about CGI teeth and mouth movements. It's only because I watched Rescue Rangers yesterday and Ugly Sonic's teeth were a big feature.

Are they a bit “transparent” like holographic projections we’ve seen before? Or do they look like solid flesh and blood? Can you tell us in spoiler tags so people can read if they want to know? I’d prefer to DM you than spoiler tag it if you really want to know. Personally I’d want to go not knowing. Please pm me too as I went yesterday and I'm really interested to hear how it was done. We had to seal our phones in pouches and were told we are not allowed to discuss the set list. The phone policy will change when it's officially open. I wouldn't call my self an Abba fan but I do like all their big hits (ie the mamma Mia sound track). I was in awe at the technology and experience I wish all concerts went all out like that but their touring nature makes it impossible. Some elements worked better than others but overall it was a great show! I'd be tempted to return in a year or so.

Interesting show stop tonight, a full theatre evacuation Would be interested to know what for. When I went a couple of weeks ago a poor woman in the front row was having an epileptic fit for the last 20 mins of the show and they carried on.

Based on Twitter, there seem to be some invited previews this weekend (I was going to say dress rehearsals but I don't suppose the Abbatars need to worry about getting dressed). Billed as the final rehersals. Sunday afternoon and Monday evening.

I saw the first preview, and I don't know if it was because I love the film so much or that the show wasn't that great but I was really felt wanting. Harry is brilliant, just as good if not better than on broadway, but I felt everyone else's singing seemed a bit weak. Maybe it was the levels, but to me none of the others carried the same emotion and power he did through the songs. Also, as with broadway, I hate the end. I can understand the message they are trying to convey, but the way it is done just seems really pointless. What happens at the end? {Spoiler - click to view} She comes back, same as in the film, turns the recording off and says the line instead (except in the performance I saw he already turned around and saw it was her rather than recognising by the voice that the recording had been switched off), then she leaves through the audience.
I really don't understand why she would come back only to immediately leave? I understand they are trying to make her more independent but it just doesn't work for me.

Surely it depends whether the character is black or whether it's just a colourblind/concious casting, like Frozen. The races of the characters (and their mismatch between childhood and adulthood!) aren't mentioned at all, and they don't necessarily need to be here either.
They didn't change the "Brown, Brown, Brown" line when Eliza was a redhead at Lincoln Centre so I don't think they'll be making any changes this time.

It's like the whole thing going on with shock twists in television and film nowadays. The foreshadowing should lead you to the conclusion, if you manage to guess in advance you feel vindicated, or on a re-watch you can see the signposts leading up to it all along. Whereas now, if someone guesses the ending it has to be changed, because logic be damned we can't have the ending be spoiled by following a plot thread to its natural conclusion, we need the shock value for the headlines.
So instead of throwing in some read herrings to distract and make us doubt ourselves, we're left with the most obscure facts not even the biggest fans would know, so we have no idea. Then we're just left with the voice itself- oh if they're not disguising that! Surely the whole idea is to be able to guess them?

I saw a spoiler for this week before I'd finished watching last week's episode. Knowing who Poodle was, it was obvious listening to him. He has such a distinctive voice. I've seen him live at least half a dozen times, but the clues are so obscure it really takes the fun out of it. My dad managed to guess, only after I said it's someone he should know. It still took him about 3/4 of the song.
It's getting to the stage where the clues might as well be what they had for breakfast because they're almost that obscure. I really only go by the voice now, and that's only helpful once some of the guesses point you in the right direction.

I really enjoyed this at the weekend. It would be a shame if there wasn't a London run. I much prefer this to the often compared Mary Poppins.
The effects were really great, as were the songs.
I found Charlie's accent a bit Frank Spencer which grated. I'm not sure why they've gone with such a young child for Carrie when an adult is playing Charlie. In the film they seem much closer in age, and the gap really made it more evident that he wasn't a child.
Also, unfortunately (but understandably), a lot of Paul's classic lines, like "What's that got to do with my knob?" aren't in the stage version.
The ending was odd as people have already commented here. There is so much crammed into the story as it is, so it seems odd to opt for a long, somewhat pointless, drawn out ending. That time could have been better spent elsewhere in the show.
Overall I really loved it and would not hesitate to see again.

I just had a look at Prince of Egypt, and it is only telling me stalls tickets, with no button to click for further information.
I'd be interested to know if the confirmation email tells you the seats?
The only benefit of this I can think of is if they decide the seats later on in the day and give you the best available, rather than the system now where you have to go for what's available and then might regret it if something better comes along when they release more tickets later in the day.
