Neither, I'd go for Celebrations or the Ferrero assortment tray.

Good to see those of you I met earlier (I had visions of being the only person to turn up) - I’m feeling a bit guilty about going to a Christmas drinks event and not actually saying Merry Christmas to anyone so as to prove I’m not a misery guts: ’Merry Christmas!’

I’m there now - is anyone else here or are you hiding because you think I might be Parsley? Found the tables, I’m sat under the Me And My Girl poster

The dreadful weather is making me think I’ll be there rather sooner than planned but I will be there at some point.

So, Pinter Five tonight: very much a mixed bag, I loved Victoria Station, was pretty ambivalent about The Room and was bored senseless by Family Voices, which seemed to go on forever. The whole thing lasted around two hours including an interval, theatre was about two thirds full, I can imagine some serious papering going on with tickets for this before too long.

Have been to see this year:
De Profundis The Play That Goes Wrong Young Frankenstein Rita, Sue and Bob too Wicked Network Julius Caesar Mood Music Nightfall Trainspotting Tartuffe Red Julie The Lieutenant of Inishmore Allelujah! King Lear Othello Early Doors A Very Very Very Dark Matter Pinter Two Pinter Three
Haven't included any of the concerts I went to, some of which included a few actors (Kathleen Turner, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Murrays shows spring to mind) - been to probably the same amount of rock shows on top of those.
Still got Pinter Five, The Cane and The Tell-Tale Heart to come before the end of the year, I doubt I'll book anything else unless something gets seriously papered before Christmas Eve,
My favourites out of those
The Lieutenant of Inishmore Julius Caesar The Play That Goes Wrong
And the ones I wasn't impressed with (to put it kindly):
Wicked Mood Music Red

I'm going to see this at the end of the month - not expecting that much to be honest but I had a credit for a returned Exit The King ticket and thought I'd use it up before the year is through, and this won out because everything else I looked at was pretty well sold out all through their runs.

Must admit, I enjoyed Wreck-It Ralph but the trailer for this did nothing to make me think I must see this (at the cinema anyway) - I think I'll wait for a dvd/Blu-ray copy to turn up in a sale (which doesn't take too long to happen these days)

Will I need to wear my badge or will there be a bloody big sign by the table?

Also unsuccessful but I’m not that bothered - Cate Blanchett was sat on the other side of the room when I went for dinner at Musso & Frank Grill in Hollywood back in September, so it’s not like I’ll be going to the grave regretting not having seen her at any cost.

I’m going to the matinee show on December 22nd (well I will be if I’m in a fit state after the works Christmas do the night before)

Was quite keen to book for the Dumb Waiter - but not at those prices!! When did small scale plays get so expensive? But it’s Danny Dyer and Martin Freeman: the Crown Jewels in the Pinter season! (well it was until they announced the Hiddles was joining in the fun, anyway)

Would have preferred to have been able to pick the actual seat rather than just go for left or right stalls, but have got third row stalls for 23rd March - not exactly cheap (£75) but not too bad for casting like this (unless its going to be Jeanette Krankie as the female lead)
I had no intention of buying Champagne seats but I can't believe that they've all sold out for the entire run so I'm assuming they're being held back for the people with more money than sense.

Phoenix Arts Club (well I'm presuming its that anyway) I shall endeavour to be there at some point between four and five, will be wearing the Board badge generously supplied by @theatremonkey when I met him a month or so back - will probably have left by six or so though.

There were £15 stalls tickets for Pinter Four on offer when I looked earlier, but otherwise all Upper Circle (from what I looked at, anyway)

Can’t see the point in a photo-realistic Lion King, might as well watch old clips of Johnny Morris for free online if you want to see animals talking (although last thing I heard, the snowflake brigade were trying to get him banned for ‘demeaning’ animals) 😐

Having decided not to wait for the blu-ray/digital release, I bit the bullet and went to see this in a cinema this afternoon (the Odeon Haymarket Luxe, a lovely seat and the whole of the front row to myself, shame about the Tw*t sat a few rows behind rummaging through what sounded like the biggest multipack of crisps in the history of Christendom for the first 90 minutes or so and eating at least 4 packets but I guess you can’t have it all - I’m hoping they’re suffering a massive case of gut rot right about now) and I have to say I loved it.
Yes I it starts to sag just over half way through and the music isn’t really the sort of thing I listen to normally but I’ll admit to having a tear in my eye at the end - both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were great, Cooper proving he can actually act after appearing in lots of crud like the second two Hangover films (I saw him in the Elephant Man at the TRH and wasn’t that impressed with him channeling his inner Rainbow George)

Not impressed with what’s on offer this year I’m afraid, I saved about £140 on the RRP on some shirts from Reiss, got the blu-Ray of Black Panther for £7.99 and 30% off some Christmas cards from Dean Morris ( the recipients of which might not be keen to have me calling them ‘friends’ after they’ve opened them and seen what’s on them) but otherwise it’s mostly tat that I’ve seen on offer, the sort of stuff I’d be embarrassed to try and get money for if it was me selling it.

It makes me despair for the future of this country - it clearly stated the ballot would be open for a week and what happens? Thousand upon thousands of people pile in at 12 making everything jar to a halt (while I wanted to enter the ballot, I had gone onto the NT site to book for The Tell-Tale Heart over the Christmas period), as if it was some sort of first come, first served free for all.
