It would seem that some members have lost their TodayTix credits because the company have seen people sharing referral codes on line which is apparently against their T&C’s.
If TodayTix had a problem with the thread here on TheatreBoard they could have contacted us and told us that their T&C’s didn’t allow sharing of codes. We would have happily complied.
The original thread which contained many members codes has been removed. We understand that the referral code promotion is discontinued.
If you still want to discuss this company then this is the thread to do it.

To repeat my situation from the other thread - I had accrued around £200 of credit which approximately £150 of was from 'real world' family and friends, work colleagues etc. The rest was from people who generously used my code from the thread on this site - many others also posted their codes so there was a sense that we were sharing them as a community. They weren't being abused, as you can only use one code. I must have sent hundreds, maybe thousands of pounds worth of business their way, and I had no idea this was considered against the rules. They did not email me to tell me the promotion was ending, nor have they told me they were removing my credit or why - they have simply erased it from my account. I have emailed them to ask, but had no reply. I had been saving it up since the app launched about two years ago to treat my sister to top price seats to her favourite show, which I wouldn't usually be able to do. That's now out of the window.
I am aghast that I have broken the rules but I had no idea that sharing the code on a community forum would constitute a violation - after all, we are all keen theatregoers and likely to be keen users of the app once referred to it. Even if they had wiped the credit I gained from online users, I could understand that. But they have also wiped the credit gained from my real life referrals. To make it worse, there is not even a mention on the app that the credit or the referral scheme ever existed, so I can't even check the Terms and Conditions to confirm which rule I broke.
I am really disappointed, but hey - what can I do?
I'd be interested to hear if this has affected anybody else.

What a shame that what was a very positive discussion about this company amongst theatre enthusiasts who actually buy tickets has turned into one where they now look really petty and mean.
PR Fail.

It says in the Broadwayworld article that the scheme doesn’t end til April 30th. Can people not just get stuff booked asap or is this not the case?

In theory yes they can but that’s providing they still have the credit. TodayTix seem to have removed some people’s credit meaning certain users now have no credit to claim.

The app has absolutely no mention of being able to use credit, not even a thing that says CREDIT £0 or similar. Just no option to use it at all, even when I get right through to the final confirm button.

I've only just joined TodayTix as I'm hoping to take advantage in a week or so when we are in London. I got an email saying that the scheme had been discontinued, before I had even booked anything.

Quite honestly, their behaviour this week has been so shoddy in general that I'll actively be advising friends NOT to use them - you can, after all, get all of those deals elsewhere, with the exception of the digital lotteries.

When we have recommended to friends and family they have booked and Today Tix have done very well out of it.
When some posted codes on here people have booked and Today Tix have done very well out out of it.
I can't imagine a company complaining that people are booking with them? That's effectively what they are doing. We recommended them because of the loyalty scheme, not because of great deals or wonderful customer service.
Now they have taken all that goodwill they built up from the scheme and thrown it away. Bizarre.

I too am disappointed, though appreciate that I have lost nothing compared to some here. I used a code from a fellow member but had yet to get anyone to use mine so have never had any credit whatsoever. I plan to contact Todaytix about this to remonstrate with them but from reports above, doubt they will budge. As has been pointed out, a person may only use a code once and if this results in extra business, surely everyone benefits?

I have emailed Todaytix to ask if this is true and if so why, since they haven't had the courtesy (or common sense) to contact their users in advance to let them know and to explain.
Amongst other things I have said I am now less likely to book with them. Interestingly, if you check the US version of the site, you will find the referral credits scheme is still shown.

Well I used the credit I had a while ago which was only a tenner anyway. Don't have many friends as you can see. Badly handled but won't stop me using them as their rush ticket and lottery scheme is great. Saves standing outside the theatre queueing in the morning.

Personally I haven't lost any credit (I'd only earned £30 over the year and I'd already spent it) but that hasn't stopped me being disappointed with the way they've handled this. It's fair enough them stopping the scheme, I've no issues with that, but only giving people 3 weeks to claim their credit I felt was wrong to begin with, let alone completely taking away the credit some have accumulated. I only ever used the app for the lotteries and rush tickets, then the odd discounted ticket in the sales they occasionally do. I agree that this won't stop me using them for these but it will stop me even considering buying a full price ticket and recommending them to others
