I'll eat Roses, my favourites are the strawberry ones, but Quality Street has strawberry ones *and* the green triangle. No contest.

There was outrage online when the Celebrations Advent Calendar started with a Bounty..people seemed to miss the fact that they couldn't choose each day's chocolate. Anyway, to answer the question, Roses please. |

I remember as a kid, the Quality Street tin always ended up with just those peanut cracknel ones in the red foil. We didn't have Heroes and Celebrations in the olden days. Always got Milk tray from grandma though..memories of arguments about whether you could start the second layer before anyone had eaten the unpopular ones on the top layer.

Has to be Quality Street. It’s really part of the joy of Christmas when my parents come home from the shop with a big glistening purple tin filled with colourful paper wrapped sweets. And part of the depression of New Year’s Day when all that’s left is the coconut eclairs and toffee pennies.

Celebrations used to be good but then they got rid of the Galaxy Truffle and it has never been the same.
Quality Street are much nicer than Roses and get an extra point from me for having two types of orange flavoured chocolates.

Roses. I try to avoid Nestle products so Quality Street certainly aren't on my Christmas list.

Definitely Quality Street for Christmas. Back in the day, we only got Quality Street at Christmas time as they were imported. So they were seen as a bit more posh than Roses, which were made locally and you could get any time. And you can keep your strawberry creams - it's the purple one ftw.  |

Out of those two it has to be Quality Street, because the chocolate of Roses has rather too greasy a texture for me. But I'd rather have Belgian chocolate.

Both, the more chocolate the better!!!! Also the massive Toblerone Bar, Terry Orange segments, After Eight in the big xmas metal tin.
A baby boy was born over 2000 years ago in a manger, so we could eat more chocolate.

Sadly, neither of them for me. But I have discovered some dairy free chocolate truffles so I might treat myself to some of those this Christmas when everyone else is raiding the quality street.

For pete's sake, somebody has to make the ultimate sacrifice and swallow the Turkish Delight So you didn't raid the second layer when nobody was looking and fill the gap with an unwanted chocolate from the top?
Anyway, I like the Turkish Delight. I remember there used to be a Turkish Delight version of Munchies. Always loved those. You could squeeze them with your tongue until the chocolate broke and then let the inside dissolve. (You can do the same thing with a Fry's Turkish Delight, but because they're larger you start to feel the effects after twenty or thirty of them, which was never a problem with the smaller sweets.)

Roses, although they're not as good as they used to be. I dont like the new wrapping each chocolate comes in, just a way of getting less chocolates in the tub. And what ever happened to the large jars they used to come in? Unscrew the lid and get your hand in. You couldn't take a handful as your fist was too big to get out.
AND NO PUTTING THE WRAPPERS BACK IN THE TUB/JAR!!!

Anyone remember “Weekend” assortment? It was the box you dreaded receiving as it wasn’t all chocolates. There were weird jellies and candied peel and bits of old fudge and whatnot. Awful.  |

Seeing the "Mackintosh's" on the box inspired me to try to work out who owns what in the confectionery world. I gave up, as there have been too many mergers and splits so it's not a simple tree of ownership and more, and it was getting depressing seeing how many familiar brands were ultimately just marketing names for "X International" or "Y Holdings".
