Sorry, I thought/was hoping that this was the long awaited stage version of Citizen Smith (surely only a matter of time after Only Fools and Horses) - as you were...
(I’ll get my coat) 😐

Plenty of availability at the Piccadilly theatre for February 15th. Just got my ticket having failed to get one at the National, Young Vic and Old Vic. Thanks for sharing, just booked (still pondering going sick that day or just taking half a days holiday, going to something like this is on a Friday afternoon is not as good if you can’t tag the hell out of it on social media)

I only saw him perform a couple of times over the years, last time at the Amersham Arms in New Cross a couple of years back but I thought he was great, not the sort of act to headline a fortnight at the O2 (though I don't think that was the sort of thing he'd ever want to be doing), and one of the few comedians I've seen that could do political material without it seeming like they were hectoring the audience and actually being funny.
I don't do Twitter, and don't listen to much radio, so didn't know what he had been up to recently, so didn't know he was ill: this was a real shock when I heard about it this morning.
R.I.P. Jeremy, in a world of mostly bland comedians, you really will be missed.

Booked row A stalls through Nimax during the first week of its run- thought £57.50 was very reasonable (didn't fancy paying over £100 for premium)

Including Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi, Charles Dance, Anne Reid, Patricia Routledge and (Yes!) Gyles Brandreth, amongst many others: Fane Productions
I would be interested in the Charles Dance event but I'm out of the country on that day, and I've seen both Judi and Derek being interviewed before so not sure if I'd want to fork out the sort of money they are asking for to see them again (I still don't know when I'm going to get round to reading the signed Jaocbi book which seemed like a great idea to buy at the time...) but I'm sure there is something of interest for lots of people on here?

I haven't seen him in anything since Election which was 20 years ago but yes, he can act. I'm not excited enough to buy tickets now though.

I was staying at the Gresham when I went, and it started to absolutely pour down when I walked back after the show but I never felt in danger of being robbed at any point - I would not want to go wandering around all night to find out but maybe that is just a bit of banter?

I'm seeing this at the end of the month - I have seen a few things online with people saying it was far too long so I'm hoping Kitson has cut it down a bit before I see this : I've enjoyed everything I've seen him do before but I'm a little bit mystified as to why people think he is one of the best stand ups going, to tell the truth.

I booked for Kraftwerk at the Bord Gais in 2017 through Ticketmaster and had no problems picking a seat - maybe you’d be better off calling them.

Great news, I've just started watching Charlie Cox in Daredevil over the last couple of months and I've really been getting into it (shames its been cancelled, but heres hoping it gets another chance on the new Marvel TV channel we are supposedly getting), I also thought he was great in Boardwalk Empire.

Not 'bad behaviour' as such, but did anyone on here manage to see this 'spectacular' over the festive period? BBC

I wish he'd do a show at the Royal Festival Hall - they use his recorded voice for the announcements on shows about to begin, after all. Failing that, the Queen Elizabeth Hall (I'm a Southbank Centre member so would get priority booking...)

1) The Lieutenant of Inishmore 2) Julius Caesar (Bridge Theatre) 3) Early Doors 4) Rita, Sue and Bob Too 5) Julie (well I liked it anyway)
Had to struggle to come up with 5 plays that I can honestly say I enjoyed to tell the truth, theres been nothing at all that I've seen this year that I can honestly say I thought was outstanding, or would be in a rush to see again.

I left at the interval - I didn’t find the first half particularly tense, horrific or even interesting, just boring and I thought the bug eye was silly rather than disturbing. A waste of an evening to be honest, I now remember why I don’t bother much with the NT these days.

Holmes and Watson wasn’t that bad actually- probably helped by the alcohol I imbibed before seeing it but not as bad as the reviews I’d seen (which admittedly were all non-professional reviews) but I’ve certainly seen worse this year, Dragged Across Concrete and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote being the chief culprits. Anyway - favourite films in here, not OK films or cinema dregs please : as you were...

I haven't finished seeing films this year yet as I have 2 more booked for Saturday and there's still time after that. However, of the 76 I've seen so far, Three Billboards (as Marwood may recall from the meet-up) is probably my best. I was surprised to see that it didn't feature in many polls: for instance, the Picture House staff top ten - though their members rated it highly in their own top ten. Not sure about the next 4 but will give it some thought... I saw Three Billboards at the 2017 LFF, otherwise it probably would have been on my list as well (must watch it again at some point)

So,we've had the shows of the year, what are/were your films of the year? What with me only seeing one more film at the cinema this year, and that being Holmes and Watson tonight (I know, what was I thinking? ) - here is my top five: 1) Phantom Thread 2) A Star Is Born 3) The Sisters Brothers 4) Isle of Dogs 5) Mandy with honourable mentions to Black KKKlansman, Mission:Impossible - Fallout and Climax (it would have been a top 10 but while I've seen somewhere in the region of 20 films at cinemas this year, a large amount of those have been rescreenings of older stuff) So, over to you - what are/were your favourites?

Saw the matinee this afternoon - enjoyed it without being greatly impressed by it - I can see why there was no interval as the tension that was building slowly would have been totally wasted if there was a break for pints and pies halfway through .
To tell the truth it could have done with 10 minutes or so being cut off the running, the first 45 minutes did seem a bit of a slog to get through, and I got the impression that this was originally a lot longer (no explanation as to why the daughters belongings had been burnt (although I’m guessing the axe attack might be a good indicator 😝 and the banging at the door that no one answered and that’s just for starters).

Don't think its worth starting another thread just yet, but maybe something around Easter time? Weather will (hopefully) be better (well it can't be much worse than what we had at the weekend, thats for sure) and hopefully flus, colds and general maladies will be down on what everyone I know has been suffering recently.
