This is all well and good, but for elderly theatregoers (and I count myself in this number), it's a no go (and yes, I realise this will be an unpopular post). None of my contemporaries have the NHS app (I don't mean the pinging one) and wouldn't know where to start, nor have we had reason to have any tests, but we are happily double jabbed. Oh well, I haven't been to the theatre since March 2020 (having gone at least once a month prior to lockdown), just as well I haven't booked for anything in the foreseeable future. I’m sure you will not be the only one in this position. ATG will not be wanting to limit their audience in any way so I’d watch out for announcements about alternatives to showing the app. I’m sure it will be possible to get some sort of letter from your GP. |

After you have had two jabs, you can call NHS on their phone number 119, they will post to you a letter, confirming your vaccination status,

I am glad its been clarified and its either or rather than "and" but I wouldnt have minded if it was both to be honest.
I applied for a letter online from the NHS and it came in a few days. Hoping to go away at the end of September so wanted to have a paper copy as well as on the phone just in case

Thank you all for the advice re the app. I do have a smart phone, but it's the apps I struggle with. You should have seen me trying to use the pinging one (I've deleted it now). The NHS letter seems to be the answer - watch this space!

Proof of full vaccination should you have received both doses at least 14 days prior to your performance time. You can present this certification via the NHS COVID Pass within the NHS App, or internationally recognised equivalent. Please note that your COVID Vaccination card will not be accepted as proof.
Very pleased that CamMack is able to do what your incompetent useless government is not. After weeks of waiting, hoping and worrying, it now looks like my trip to London won't happen because they only allow the NHS App as proof of vaccination at the border, but not even the EU-wide App (while European countries do accept the NHS App). Between this and the fact that they haven't moved Germany to the Green List with an incidence rate of 7 (way below Croatia's, btw), I'm losing all interest in actually going. If the UK is so desperate to keep us out, well fine, I can find my entertainment elsewhere.

Northern Ireland Covid app launching in two weeks and anyone can order a letter from the NHS (it took me 30 seconds to find the info on doing so in Scotland). I'm sorry you don't like the facts. The paramedic who administered my second jab didn't know this either. There is currently no vaccine passport app in Scotland. And because I had one of my jabs in England, Scotland doesn't recognise me as being vacvinated,so I can't get a letter either. There is no solution to this currently. But by all means, take every criticism of a flawed system personally. |

A lot of people do not realise the Health Service is devolved to each nation with different infrastructures, as you say you have received one vaccination in two different health services so each nations app is irrelevant as you will have only had one jab showing in 2 apps.
To add to the list of cancelled performances, Tempest at the Globe cancelled this afternoon, now if we could only get Theatres onto this pilot scheme.

I can't help thinking that this would have been rather more transparent and rather easier to resolve for everyone concerned had we just had access to the EU certificate in the first place. Wonder what happened there? |

When I go to London next month, I will have the texts/emails on my phone showing my negative LFT results, and the NHS vaccination letter (I don't have a driving licence or passport, so can't put the app on my phone). Hope it's enough!

Hope it's enough! You can access your covid passport for domestic use without verifying your identity. I have that problem with the NHS app because my medical records are under a different name than my documents but the basic covid pass is still there 👍🏼 |

By September cases will be much higher again in Germany, too. I'd say the risk to be tested positive before flying out is next to nil. Most of the cases now (in the UK and elsewhere) are among young people who are back to partying and other stuff that happens in crowded unprotected environments such as all the guys clumping together to watch the football games. I travel to London on my own usually and at most meet 1-2 local friends there. So I figure that if I keep to myself most of the time, with only brief exchanges when necessary, i.e. at hotel reception or waitstaff, risk of infection will be extremely low, even with Delta. Might avoid meeting local friends on this trip, just in case, but that's all. However, I'm starting to feel so unwelcome now between Germany not being moved to the Green List and the complete dismissal of the EU vaccination app at the border and apparently also at some theatre chains, I just don't know anymore if I WANT to come. |

That's my thoughts - I'm going to London tomorrow for a 5 day break, seeing a show each day. I'm on my own, and only really have my sister to see in London. I'm bringing a pack of 7 lateral flow test kits with me (in order to get my NHS Covid pass for certain shows) which I will take one every day, plus mask wearing and keeping my own company where possible - so I'm hoping to remain infection free.

I absolutely agree with this. It breaks my heart but it makes me so mad at the same time. It’s so frustrating that European vaccines are not recognised and that we’re still on the amber list. I really, really want to go back because I miss London dearly but I also feel very unwelcome right now. I’ve been double jabbed for a while and I hoped that this would help in getting back but I doubt I’ll be able to go for the foreseeable future. -.- |
