I just wish they'd stop nominating groups of performers for the Best Actor or Best Supporting Actress or whatever award. They had an award in 2009 for Best Company Performance, wouldn't it just make more sense to bring it back than to keep diluting the individual categories with this "you're ALL winners!" nonsense? BRING BACK THE BEST COMPANY PERFORMANCE AWARD

Those wondering, Adrienne will be performing River Deep, Mountain High from Tina at the awards. But what will the Company performance? It better be a good choice. This is first and probably only opportunity for friends/family to see what I've been banging on about for the last 6 months.

I think they’d be crazy to do anything besides the opening number to be honest.

I think they'll end up doing one of the three big solos. So either Not Getting Married, Being Alive or The Ladies Who Lunch. The issue is, it's tough to highlight the four nominated performers in one performance, because other than the opening number, Richard is not on stage with anyone other than Rosalie.

Oh I thought they were doing Side by Side? I thought I'd read that somewhere?...

Isn't Patti going home? Will she come back for Sunday? (Or is she staying until after the Oliviers but getting pre-emptively maudlin about leaving?)

There's so much scope, they could really do with a 30min slot to do all the songs mentioned. Got to have been a tough choice for them!

Oh I thought they were doing Side by Side? I thought I'd read that somewhere?... Oh I'd prefer they did 'Side By Side' rather than the opening number. All that 'Bobbie baby, Bobbie baby' drove me insane! In fact, they should do a medley!

I just assumed they would do Side by Side. I can't see a solo number being chosen.

Wait, so Patti won't be there to receive her Olivier and give her speech?

Wait, so Patti won't be there to receive her Olivier and give her speech? I imagine she'll have some fabulous speech filmed.

I think they'd be best to go with Rosalie singing Being Alive and leave it at that. Also, I'm finding it hard to comprehend that Patti would choose to miss an awards ceremony, especially how she's an Olivier winner and has been constantly saying how much she's loving London.

I wonder if Jonathan Bailey will be there also as he has put a pic of himself in Spain on Instagram I'm sure it's just a short (well-deserved) break after his Company run, and he'll be there on Sunday. After all it's just a 2-3 hour flight back home.

I imagine Jonathan is just on holiday and will return asap, especially considering he is the lock to win in that catagory.
Do we know what Six are performing yet? From rehearsal video on twitter, its one of the group numbers. I really hope its the title number rather than Ex-Wives as that has been done enough now at public events. It'd be great to see them do Six or the Mega-Six. Don't Lose Your Head, we can put that one on the back burner for now.

Itv have scheduled 110 minutes of highlights on Sunday night. That is pretty wonderful! Looks great at first glance but 40minutes of that will be adverts. So thats more like 70 minutes, 30 of which will be Jason Manford crackin' northern jokes at London folks.

Don't leave us Patti! not without waltzing onto the Oliviers stage saying 'About f***ing time' and walking off to get tanked on vodka stingers.

I just read this again and it’s super interesting what he said about Ruthie Ann Miles being nominated for “The King And I” ... But it's not just that the best man, woman or show wins or doesn't necessarily win (always a subjective call in any case) but whether the best man, woman or show is even in the competition. There are always plenty of anomalies in who even gets recognised.
Take just one example: Ruthie Ann Miles was nominated for her supporting performance as Lady Thiang in The King and I. But in fact, owing to a personal tragedy in which her year-old daughter (and unborn child) were killed in a road accident and she was seriously injured, she missed the opening and critics did not review her, though many thought that she did, as there was no notification of the fact that Naoko Mori was in fact playing the role. Mori alternated with Miles to play a substantial part of the run; but Miles alone was nominated.
Do you think this really was a case of critics not knowing who they were reviewing or Ruthie Ann Miles’s tragedy influencing their vote, even if they didn’t even see her in the role?

It's too late for me as I have to get up at the crack of dawn to go to work. So there will be no reading the theatre board, no newspapers or other social media until I get home in the evening to watch it.
