Since there is already talk on a couple of threads already about next years awards, may as well start this since we are getting an idea of the shows and people that will be eligable.

What are the productions eligible for next year award?
Musicals originalds and revivals.
I imagine lead in musical will be a battle between O'Hara and Warren, right?
Is Laura Linney somewhat a front-runner for Lead in a Play?

If Chichester's production of "The Chalk Garden" does transfer to the West End, as one person suggested on the thread for it in plays, then I would have thought the set design would be up for a nomination. I loved it.

Based on the wild speculative guessing going on in the musicals department:
Best New Musical - 3-way tie between Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen and Jurassic Park The Musical Best New Play - Harry Potter (It will close and reopen so it can qualify for nomination) Best New Comedy - Little Britain Live Best New Dance Production - Cirque Du Soleil : Flight of the Bumblebee Best Actor - James Corden Best Actress - James Corden in a wig Best Family & Entertainment award will be cancelled due to low morale post Brexit Best Costume Design - Maria Bjornson for Downton Abbey the Musical (using costumes from Phantom of the Opera's storage)

Actress in a Musical seems set to be a three woman race between Kelli, Adrienne and whoever plays Jenna in Waitress. Adrienne will win.
God bless Rosalie. She will get nominated, but the more announced about Company, the more she seems like the most uninteresting part of the whole thing.
But that's my current impression for the four that will get nominated.

It’s impossible for Mary to be nominated for starters as the ceremony’s in April and it opens in August!

Arts no longer a West End venue, as I understand it no longer paying money to SOLT, hence why SIX got offie nominations.

NEW MUSICALS: SIX Strictly Ballroom Heathers Tina Waitress Come From Away 9 to 5 Hadestown REVIVALS: Company Mary Poppins Caroline, or Change The King and I Little Shop of Horrors What am I missing? Mary Poppins won't be eligable until 2020. I think it appears the nominees for both categories will be: Musical: Come From Away, Fun Home, Hadestown and Waitress. Revival: Company, Caroline or Change and The King and I.

To be honest i'm just annoyed that The Arts is now not classed as a West End Theatre just at the time when it houses a show finally worthy of some recognition!

The girls could easily get a joint Actress nomination, and dare I say even a musical nomination. And the costumes are fabulous also! I would argue that Victoria Hamilton-Barritt deserved her nomination for Murder Ballad, even if the show itself wasn't worthy.

Please give Johanthan Bailey lots of prizes.
I suspect the Inheritance will get lots of nods and rightly so
Barry Humphries Weimar Kabaret was very good But not sure if it is award winning.

Jonny B doesn't need lots of prizes, I'd be more than happy to give him one. Kyle Soller should be waltzing away with the Best Actor award if there was any justice in the world.

I'll throw a vote in for Red in Play Revival. I loved that production.

Obviously Waitress hasn't opened yet, but it feels pretty obvious that as it stands right now, Actress in a Musical will be (based on response and reviews solely):
Rosalie Craig (Company) Sharon D. Clarke (Caroline, or Change) Kelli O'Hara (The King and I) Adrienne Warren (Tina)
Have I forgotten anyone, or is this what we are expecting?

Caroline O'Connor in 'The Rink' and Carrie Hope Fletcher in 'Heathers' are both better than Rosalie Craig and Sharon D. Clarke for my money. Craig is completely outshone by her supporting cast and Clarke just gives the same performance that we've seen from her time and time again. I think your list is fair though and because they're in more "serious" shows mean that they'll be noticed more than others more deserving. I think the award will go to Adrienne. 'Tina' is a rotten show but she's pretty great. Kelli O'Hara should be the winner though, her performance in 'The King and I' is a masterclass.

I agree about Carrie and Caroline, though Caroline sadly isn't eligable because the Southwark is Off-West End and I don't know really how Heathers is going to do nominations wise. She could definitely get a nom, as could whoever plays Jenna in Waitress but we don't know yet. I say Sharon with the knowlage she is Sharon and it is a nomination kinda role so it wouldn't surprise me, and Rosalie because of the whole reinvention of the piece and her character. But I agree, I think it is Adrienne's at this point, and what better way to honour Tina than to honour the woman playing Tina.

Throwing it out there, Company will get nominations in Revival, Actress, Supporting Actor (possibly two or three nom's as it's a weak year for that catagory!), Supporting Actress (possibly two nom's), Director and Set. Patti and Mel could and should both be nominated. Jonathan is a lock for a nomination, but I'd also give a nod to Richard Fleeshman who was fantastic, and Gavin Spoakes. I'd prefer Richard to be the other nominee though.

As Joanna Riding was not in the 2017/18 cast would she be eligible for a Follies nomination (assuming she is worthy)?

As Joanna Riding was not in the 2017/18 cast would she be eligible for a Follies nomination (assuming she is worthy)? It's very, very rare but it has happened that performers win as replacements. Joanna did it already, winning when she replaced in My Fair Lady. Both her and Martine were not only nominated, but won!
