Did we ever work out why Hadestown didn't recieve a single nomination yet over on Broadway now has revieved 14 Tony nominations? Different audiences. Same with 'Waitress' I guess. And 'Groundhog Day' the other way around. Plus, 'Hadestown' was a Broadway tryout and wasn't there a load of fuss about The Nash getting involved? Waitress wasn’t eligible for the Oliviers this year. Re. Hadestown, I think another reason it got so many Tony noms is that it’s just been a pretty weak year for new musicals (Hadestown, The Prom, Tootsie, Beetlejuice, and Ain’t Too Proud), whereas I think it was a strong year for new musicals on the west end.

I don't imagine we will see much of Waitress at the Oliviers next year due to the timing of it opening, it may be long forgotten by then. Which is a shame, as I'd be the first to hand Laura Baldwin an Olivier nomination for her performance!

I don't know if it would nominated in any case but for something like Adrian mole, could that be nominated for things even though its already been at Menier? Does being in the West end open it up again? Or isn't Menier eligible at the oliviers anyway?

I would love it to get a little nom somewhere.
