I’d love to see Adrienne win for best actress but I think it’ll be Rosalie I still haven't seen Tina but a general consensus from what friends have told me is Adrienne is incredible and really gives a stunning performance. |

I'll be outraged if Patti doesn't win Best Supporting Actress!
I want Sharon to win Best Actress in a musical and Caroline, Or Change to win best Revival.
Torn about Best Supporting Actor in a musical: I like all four nominees, but think probably Jonathan Bailey will win.
I REALLY want Songs For Nobodies to win Best Entertainment and Family ( seems an odd category) I loved it, and saw it several times.
Best New Musical; definitely Come From Away!

I actually wouldn't be mad if any of the men win for Supporting Actor in a Musical. I'd love to see Fleeshman win, because he was brilliant, but Jonathan is amazing.

Best new musical: Come From Away
Best musical revival: Company
Best actor in a musical: Zubin Varla - Fun Home
Best actress in a musical: Rosalie Craig - Company
Best supporting actor musical: Jonathan Bailey - Company

I have a feeling that given the general reception of this 'new' Company, it's ultimately going to have a very good night at the Oliviers. I think the voters will be supporting a potential Broadway transfer and will want to honour it as much as they can...
Bailey is locked for supporting actor; it would be a travesty if they don't give LuPone supporting actress since she's such an icon - not to mention that it's a brilliant performance (they recently have taken to honouring other theatre luminaries in the supporting categories e.g. Judi Dench and Angela Lansbury, so it seems likely...)
I think best actress is up for grabs, but I can see them throwing Craig a bone here to go with the Company sweep, but it is a very hard fought category - Sharon D. Clarke and Adrienne Warren giving blistering performances, and Kelli O'Hara who won a Tony for her performance of the same role, so I wouldn't be surprised if it went to any of them.
Best revival is an easy win for Company again.
I think Zubin Varla wins best actor by default - the others don't strike me as being strong enough to win here, and Varla (IMO) was pretty heartbreaking in Fun Home, so it's a very deserved win (Michael Cerveris won the Tony for the same role)
Best new musical will probably go to Come From Away, and I can't see it winning much else, apart from many the music or choreography gongs... Maybe Christopher Ashley for best director, but I think Marianne Elliot will win that again as part of the Company sweep. Ultimately, I think Company will probably win the most awards of the night (it may well pick up a few of the design awards).

I wish Come From Away had opened a couple of weeks later. I’m so desperate for Fun Home to win (in the hope that if it wins, pressure for a transfer is renewed) but I love Come From Away too.
I think CFA will squeak it.

Deservedly, as far as I'm concerned. It's a fascinating, subtle take on the character, and she completely makes it her own. It could very easily have been either a camp bitch-fest or a two-hour Bette Davis impersonation, and it's neither of those things. It's a very, very fine performance indeed - just perhaps not as showy an account of the role as people might have been expecting.

It is because they have their Broadway transfer next year and SOLT and the Oliviers brand will want themselves all over the marketing when it heads over there. Reversal transfers like King & I and Come From Away they will, unfortunately, have little time or interest for as giving awards to them won't benefit them stateside. Six could win if they want that to go stateside too. But in order to get sufficient American financial backers for the transfer they will make sure Company wins, and wins big, even if (whispers) all the category winners might not search their wins. |

I feel like the show is super underrated since it is a jukebox musical, and people are not valuing its amazing production. Kobna and Tina both really embody Ike and Tina Turner sooooo well, it is so convincing.
The show itself may not deserve to win best new musical, even though I’d like it to, but these two performers deserve to win by a mile off. I don’t think Rosalie deserves it, she was good but I feel like anyone could’ve played that role and it didn’t leave me remembering anything special whereas Adrienne gave me the best performance I’ve ever seen.
I know Company will win lots of awards...I still don’t see the hype whatsoever

The Adrienne vs Rosalie debate is interesting to me, especially as I just watched Bohemian Rhapsody. Impersonating an artist vs creating something new. Both very useful skills for an actor. But when Rami or Adrienne are performing, is the skill we’re valuing how well they’re recreating what we already know?

I know Company will win lots of awards...I still don’t see the hype whatsoever Yeah the difference for me was that I came away from Tina thinking “wow Adrienne is a powerhouse and phenomenal in a show that is pretty good, not great” and I came away from Company (which *disclaimer* I’ve never really loved as a musical) thinking “wow that’s one helluva great production, with some good performances” ..... Rosalie didn’t standout for me in the way that Adrienne did, but I think she’ll benefit from the fact that Company is such a critical darling, and is probably the fave to win. |

Her TV performances just left me wanting to watch Tina. Is she still in it? She leaves in a few weeks, you could try catch her before but would be rather hard. The show is amazing with or without her, she is outstanding but I’ve also seen someone else play the role and enjoyed it just as much, the show itself is just done so well. I’d definitely recommend you seeing it, it’s really interesting as details Tina’s life |

I expect she will win since pretty much everyone except me thinks she was more or less the best thing since sliced bread, but I didn't think her performance was anything special at all. I haven't seen Come From Away yet but with the raves Rachel Tucker has been getting I would hope she has a shot at winning. Personally I think it will be a travesty if Adrienne doesn't win Best Actress, but I'm not expecting much given that it seems there was something extraordinary about Rosalie Craig's performance that I missed entirely...I thought Kelli was better than her as well, though Adrienne trumps them both by miles. |

Comparing Rosalie and Adrienne is like comparing chalk and cheese in many ways though, as they are completely different roles, and yes, different skillsets. Just because Rami and Adrienne are playing real people doesn't make their skill any less, in fact in my mind it's a more difficult job than playing a fictional character because people will judge them against the real person, even though that isn't necessarily the most appropriate benchmark. |
