I know I'm about 7 years late to be asking this but I have never tried for Rush tickets before due to living outside London and booking in advance usually. I tried today for a show and it seemed impossible to get through at 10am. Is this usually the case and how good are the seats usually, if you do manage to get through? It will really depend on the show. Sometimes the rush tickets won't sell out at 10am and you can find them throughout the day, but I think that's not the case with most shows currently. As long as you are on the waiting screen just before 10am and click the button as soon as it appears, it's really based on luck. Some people will manage to get through and some won't. Speaking from my own experience, I managed to get through to the rush tickets I wanted more often that I did not, I would say. Seats are usually good, but that will also vary from show to show. Also, it's always good to keep trying for a few minutes if you didn't manage to get them at 10am. Sometimes people add tickets to their baskets and end up not buying them. So if you try again a few minutes after 10am, you might get some of those.

As a fellow non-Londoner I sometimes use rush, but for me I find it works best with shows that aren’t selling that well or don’t have a fanbase who’ll be straight on them. If it’s something I do really want to see then I have to stump up full price when they go on sale.
For general booking todaytix are usually overpriced, but I did get a single seat for Starlight Express in amongst the premium seating for only £33 the other day, and cashed in £4 of perks so only paid £29. They were selling seats in the row in front for over £200! But then ATG are selling the front row of Your Lie in April for only £15 but I think the rush is £25.
It’s all very hit and miss, and you really do need to shop around.

Have decided to use TodayTix rush to go and see a bunch of musicals with my ten year old this summer. Wicked yesterday and Guys and Dolls today. The Wicked tickets were exceptional, row k and priced as £115 for Friday so the rush felt like a bargain.
Has anyone ever got rush for Six though? I’m signed up for an alert and the alert always comes at 10:11 and when I go to the site, the tickets are gone. I feel like the timing of the alerts aren’t doing what they are supposed to do, and that most people who actually get tickets are poised on the dot of 10 as outlined above.

Six is always much harder, and it's a teeny-tiny theatre.

For Six, you'll have to tap the ticket number you want within a split second of these going live at 10am. Have you finger exactly where the number will appear. Even then, you'd also have to be very lucky.
Not all shows are that difficult to get Rush tickets for.

I do trial runs every now and then to see what is popping off and what is reliably available. This morning for example, the only show I could potentially get a ticket for at 10am was Kiss Me, Kate, everything else 'on hold' or 'sold out'. I've just gone back to have another look at 11:15 and was able to be offered seats for Next To Normal, Starlight Express, The Baker's Wife. It's always worth going back a little later to check again if you have the luxury of being able to hold out to arrange your day.

They also tend to drop more rush around 1 as well.

Seems like the lottery multipliers have quietly been removed from the higher tiers.

I had a 2x multiplier for Cursed Child earlier today and I’m gold tier.
I still don’t ever expect to win it though 😹

I was hoping to increase my chances for Cursed Child too, but seems like everyone who has bought a ticket from TodayTix will now be at red level, so not really any better odds...

Suddenly a new BETA tab on the app got added for me, TodayTix Drops... anyone actually used this?
A lot of the shows on here are ones that people think aren't doing the best. Is this just a TodayTix papering service? Or are they seats that have been returned or something?

Is this just a TodayTix papering service? Or are they seats that have been returned or something? Papering is when shows offer free tickets to agencies/services so it's definitely not that. it's just discounts on (usually) really mediocre/bad seats disguised as 'drops' to tempt people into buying them...

It's been there for a couple of months now, but you may have not had access. We have discussed it as part of the membership scheme changes. Not everyone sees the same offers, so it's hard to say for sure, but I think there are some tickets from TodayTix's allocation that they are quietly discounting, and some insurance returns. No papering, but there occasionally some very good deals (and also some that are still more expensive than other seats). I do think that there's a lot of split testing going on, so discount levels may vary from person-to-person. You can also sometimes shift what offers you see by changing the number of tickets, then changing it back again.

How do the drops work? Do you see which seats they are before purchasing, or is it more like rush where it's luck of the draw?
(Apparently I need one more show to be on the tier where Drops appears. Their marketing ploy is working on me.)

How do the drops work? Do you see which seats they are before purchasing, or is it more like rush where it's luck of the draw? There's a thumbnail image next to each offer. If you click on that, it shows the location on the seat map. So, you know before you pay. They are often at the back of the respective section, but I've had some great deals as well. Front row (central section) of Hello Dolly recently for about £14. Abba Voyage appears on there with heavy discounts sometimes as well. And I'm sure there have been great offers that I've never seen as others have snapped them straight up.

OH MY GOODNESS! The Today Tix London Theatre Week promotion, despite telling me 4 times over the weekend it was ending (in its third week) has EXTENDED! Who could ever have predicted this!

Dr Tom Could you please tell me what sort of offers show up for Abba Voyage. I live a shortish walk away from the Abba Arena but it's always looked too expensive for the five of us in this family to go to.

I live a shortish walk away from the Abba Arena but it's always looked too expensive for the five of us in this family to go to. It’s quite variable. I’ve seen standing for around £55, seated anywhere from £70 to £150. I don’t know if you’d get 5 discounted tickets for the same date, and you do have to be a bit flexible and book the tickets when they’re available.

I've also seen it quite a few times on the Daily Drops, usually standing for £55 and mostly on a Friday.. only seen 1-2 tickets though.

Thank you Dr Tom and dillan. That's really helpful information. I reckon I can use the fact that there may be only two tickets available to justify to my adult children as to why only their dad and I are able to go! Plus we do have the added justification of being old enough to have watched on TV as Abba won Eurovision! We benefit a great deal from having the show on locally as it is a real treat to see excited people walking up and down Stratford High Street.

It seems that I am being offered "0" tickets on the rush. I've never seen it before like that, any clue?
