Maybe they will add the ice castle to the TOUR?

How hard can it be... the centre of the stage rises into a platform, a Lion King style staircase ala Pride Rock unfurls around the platform, ice pillars come down from the top of the stage surrounding the three sides. Everything glitter and white. Done.

I haven't seen it yet - I will in about three weeks, but tbh from the video I've seen and the clips already made public, it seems like a thrilling enough number with or without the ice castle. People are so adamant about the castle, but I'm not all that bothered.

You say people are adamant about the castle - do you just mean the two or three people here who won't hush about it, and literally everyone else is fine with things as they are?

Not that an ice castle wouldn’t work at some point, but it wouldn’t make any sense during Let it Go with where that song is now placed in the story, chronologically. She’s already in her castle by then in the stage musical, as far as I recall from seeing one of the previews.

The only use for the Ice castle would be during Let it Go and it would be such a waste of money to have it just for that moment

Defying Grafity being a perfect example! Defying Gravity is just a big piece of material and a lift. We’re talking about an ice castle rising from underneath the stage. It’s not necessary at all. Could they have done something with a stair case like at the Disneyland show? Sure. But no need for big set piece.

But to level out the playing field, Let it Go isn't just a casual moment in the show, it is arguably THE moment of the entire show. It's the moment everyone is waiting for. Mary Poppins only flies over the audience at the end, yet they work out the flying stuff at every venue they go to. The carpet only flies twice in Aladdin. And to follow on with Aladdin, we only see the Cave in one scene. Sometimes the signature moments in shows are the ones where coin should be spent.

It literally could of just been some ice on the walls for the castle

They performed fully staged verions of First Time in Foerver and Let it Go on The View, live from the theatre. Let it Go looks alot better than I imagined, that dress change is stunning!

That costume change! Wow! So much better than some of the early try out videos!

Not half bad!! Apart from laughing at the audience "ooh"-ing and "aah"-ing over projections (which are very good!), the set looks fab post-projection, the costume change is a great effect, orchestra sound brilliant and Caissie's vocals are on point!!

I'd like to thank The View for that so I can stop searching Youtube for a decent video of that dress change. And for saving me the $200 of seeing it. (because that's basically all I wanted, Frozen can crack on it's got some lovely songs and a nice story I just don't need to see it)

The problem for me is after the dress change, so that's spectacular along with the lighting and projection for that moment but then what? Everything goes back to normal and is static. I feel like they could be doing something else with the lighting and projections for that last bit of the song to keep the spectacle going.

Would love for a hydraulic castle to rise from the ground, but it would be a nightmare if they did national tours.
"I'm never going back... the past is in the passsssssssttt!" *Castle rises dramatically to coincide with the finale* "LET IT GOOOOO! LET IT GO!!!!"
