The reviews seem to sum up how I feel about Lion King and Aladdin!
Lion King especially is visually amazing and in the opening number my jaw hit the floor and I didn’t know where to look next. But after that it was almost a carbon copy of the film and I found myself a bit bored, same with Aladdin - there are just a couple of “oooo that’s quite clever” moments (Jafar’s costume change probably impressed me more than the flying carpet!)
Not sure this is one for me if it transferred unless I got a cheap ticket, like the other Disney shows I’ve seen, unless there was huge hype I’d probably just stay home and watch the DVD.

Does anyone know how to stop nash16 from opening so many threads on Frozen in the Musicals section? Admins are closing them, but he is very persistent:) No one knows Stasy!! 😂😂😂😂

Genuine question though: I got told it's not possible to start a thread on this in the regular Musicals section because "no show has been formally announced yet". And yet. (And yet...) The admins on here ARE allowing other shows which haven't been "formally announced" to have threads begin. What's your problem with Frozen having a London thread? Go!

Maybe these other shows don't have a thread in the International section to discuss them? Seriously, why would you need to discuss the show that is currently on Broadway and has no date set to come to London in a NEW THREAD CREATED BY YOU insead of the existing one? Why this one isn't right for you? Go!

Scrolling through the "Musicals" forum I think the only Broadway show that has been discussed there without a London production firmly announced was Dear Evan Hansen... a short discussion that seems to have fizzled out. And at least it did have a few proper news nuggets from Baz' column in the Daily Mail.
Right now there is NOTHING to say about Frozen in London. Should we go on about Spongebob or Margaritaville because MAYBE it will have a London production in 2-3 years? A thread in the general musical section and new posts appearing in that tread would make me believe that there are news about the London production when in fact all that's discussed are Elsa's new pants and the New York reviews.
Anyway, I'm not the forum police and I don't really care all that much about Frozen to begin with, but as Stasia says, what's the problem with using THIS tread to discuss Frozen?

^ viserys I couldn't have said it better myself. Unfortunately, yes, there is a thread for DEH in the musicals section, which seems to have racked up 21 pages discussing (essentially) a non-existent London production. There would be nothing stopping others from creating duplicate threads for every show currently playing Broadway that have no firm plans to transfer, therefore making the discussion in this international section obsolete. Personally I'm a bit of a stickler, admittedly, but from a user-friendly point of view, if I were new to the forum and didn't know where to look because they were multiple threads discussing the same subject, it would put me off. It also de-values the contributions of others in the international thread if another one is created for the sake of it and takes over. Anyway. Now that it's been common knowledge for a while that there is no ice castle set piece, I'm totally at peace with it. I'm sure the staging is still spectacular.

When (assuming) this comes to London, I'd like to see Zizi Strallen as Elsa and Summer Strallen as Anna. Just something that came to mind watching the trailer for some reason.

That would be awesome, but has Zizi got the belt for it? I love her voice, but I'm not sure if I can picture her smashing Let It Go.

Apparently (according to Mark Shenton), the orchestra is being expanded from 21 musicians to 44 for the cast recording, including a 22-piece string section. Hope it sounds as lush as it....well, sounds!

I saw a clip of let it go. And no will not post where I got it or how I saw it. So let it go. What concerned me was the lack of anything. Isn't Elsa Magical ?
Snow can represent warmth to Elsa or protection to her and be cold to others and sign of fear. I don't know. Like why did not get her to literally make snow that could of been falling down into a castle !

I’m not sure if the clip you watched took in the whole song or stage... but she certainly does conjure a lot of magic during that song, largely shown through projections, but also some practical effects too. I don’t think clips of video projections ever do them justice but they certainly felt huge and impactful in the theatre.

At least they added a projection of the stairs and castle in Let it Go but I’m still furious at Disney for not having a huge hydraulic castle rise up from the floor. My life would have been complete.

Original Broadway Cast Recording is out and I it. The Finale / Let it Go had me in tears. It has the same underlying score as the end of the film, but with words on the top.
I'm even more insistent that I will play Elsa some day after listening to that.

Love the Cast Recording. The Finale too made me cry, it's beautiful. Dare I say Cassie's version of Let it Go is better than Idina's? Love the big finish. I can't decide if I love or hate the pause just before the final not, it's very Wicked haha. But I think its a solid Cast Recording.

...it's very Wicked haha. To be honestl, I've been saying for ages the whole show is very Wicked. Elsa is pretty much just Elphaba for a new generation of theatre fans.

Lots and lots of wig-snatching happening in the comments section of Caissie's Let It Go.
Frozen gives me Wicked vibes which I adore. But I am going to write a strongly-worded letter to Disney complaining about the lack of an ice castle.
I wonder if 5th Cover Queen Iduna is a thing?

I always think cast recordings which have Stephen Oremus involved sound brilliant. I enjoy his arrangements. Frozen is no exception.

Good cast recording. Young Ana is annoying and nasally as hell, but otherwise I'm enjoying it a lot.

The problem is everyone was expecting something like The Lion King . I just wanted lots of scenic elements But Matilda had a far better score.

The new songs are great - TRUE LOVE is awful. What a horrible song for Anna. Surely they could have come up with better?!
That song aside I like the Broadway Cast recording very much (and I agree with many others the ending is super)
WHY DID THEY NOT HAVE AN ICE CASTLE?!!!
