... sidenote, definitely not what we are all thinking, and pretty sure a lot of us don't think some of the things he or she says (I don't want to say he as the username may not reflect a gender). 
That said, sometimes Parsley's posts are entertaining. But definitely not views we all share.
Point taken... Not all. But many!  I wouldn't even say that many m'love, if many felt like them then this board probably would be a straight up hate board.  |

Saw this Thursday and loved it so much we got day seats for the matinee (sat right next to Ben Whishaw and Andrew Scott).
There isn't a dud song in it. The cast are excellent - I thought Rita's voice had character. What was Scott Rudin thinking? Transfer and cast recording please.
Best new musical in ages and one of the best things I've seen! I'll likely post more thoughts tomorrow.
And two very full houses.

I'm sorry to be rude, but it really does baffle me. I mean, obviously it was made clear on the old board that you had put money into it etc, but to have it on the same level as Gypsy? Really? 
And this coming from someone who thought Bend It was OK on second viewing, but still not exactly great.

Yes I agree I didn't like the show As it didn't engage me emotionally or musically or visually I was also disappointed by a lack of proper choreography And I should be able to express this reasonable view without having to further justify myself or be attacked personally I appreciate others like it and respect that but it is not an assumption we all loved it! Thanks Of course. Am sad to hear you didn't enjoy it! Are you familiar with the film? I've never seen it so had no idea what to expect other than knowledge of the premise, but I'm sure I will get a chance to see it soon. As for choreography, that's an interesting point. It felt very Peter Darling to me. He makes routines out of the most pedestrian of movements so the ensemble are 'dancing' without you even realising it. Other than the whole-cast tap number, I can't really see where a traditional musical theatre routine would've suited this intricate piece. Do you think it would benefit from being a more traditional song-and-dance musical or do you think the subject need not have been translated for the stage in the first place? |

daniel brought up the point of the Peter Darling choreography, particularly the likes of the Doctor number that it is very Matilda influenced in its choreographic choices. Something that clearly works as evidenced in both shows successes!

I was just explaining for the newbie - one of the reasons you don't like many shows is that you see so many more than most of us, whether you think you'll like them or not. Most people only book tckets for stuff they think they'll like. And one of the reasons you like certain shows is that you've invested in them! I'll shut up now, so we can get back on topic. |

Andy Karl WILL win the Olivier..
Not very impressed with the score but it's a witty and really quite moving evening at the theatre. Some wonderful staging and choreography, it's a big crowd pleasing hit. I predict the reviews will be raves.
