The fact that the same issue has occurred at every show I've seen there bar one tells me it's a Hippodrome issue. I usually sit in stalls somewhere between row D and J but I've also sat further back of stalls, in the boxes and the Grand circle but wherever I sit, it's the same old. And before someone says it, hearing tests I've had over the years show that I'm all good on that front! We only have your word on that Sue! 😂 If the sound team are missing cues etc that is a show issue, but if the accoustic is poor or the sound muddy that is more likely to do with the shape of the venue and it hasn’t been addressed by the sound design. I also noticed this at Bristol wicked a couple of weeks ago..however didnt not put down to the the venue and have not heard the prob there before on past shows...who knows for sure...but i would go for a weakness in the tech somewhere if pushed....

I'm from Wiltshire (no I'm not surprised you don't know where that is - nobody ever does! 😂) around twenty minutes from Bath and under an hours drive to Bristol. London is a 2.5 hour coach or an hour and 15 on the train. The last National Express coach is 11pm, train is 11:30 or Megabus is at midnight so I can get home easily after an evening performance. Luckily because of the times I work I can travel to London and see a show on any evening I feel like (admittedly I don't tend to do many spontaneous trips, unless there's an understudy on, but that's more to keep costs down), it just means going into work on very little sleep - I start at 6am. Southampton is only around an hour and a half's drive so I'm finding myself seeing tours at the Mayflower more and more frequently. Salisbury,Wilts here. Do about 2-3 shows a month mainly London, Southampton and Bath.... V occasionally Salisbury!

Merry Christmas everyone - my thanks too for collectively being such passionate, well-informed, interesting and funny theatre nerds. I've seen more shows, from better seats, often with cheaper tickets, than I ever would without this fabulous place... and enjoyed chatting about them afterwards. Here's to another great year in 2018. Dont think I could put it better myself...Merry christmas to all!

Yes, it was pretty mediocre with Vanessa Redgrave so I'm not sure the cast of Playaway is going to entice me in again. You obviously have no idea of Derek Griffith's CV and should refrain from showing your ignorance on this forum. Please stay away from this production as well, and leave space for people who can appreciate brilliant acting. The performances from Sian Phillips and Derek Griffiths are outstanding. Saw yesterdays matinee and it was just wonderful, highly recommended !

Have you considered the todaytix app? They do rush tickets every day at 10.00am for £23 always plenty on there throughout the day... No, will need to have tickets booked for definite before then, because I won't be in the office on the day (I'm actually on leave!) and they'll need to be paid for on a company credit card by my manager. Hmm, although maybe I can convince my colleagues - 'cos really if they're this easy to get on a Saturday night they should be fine on a Tuesday evening, and I don't mind paying for 'em then claiming them back. Or I could tell my colleague how to do it. Ok, for eg I have just checked rush seats on the app right now..it brought up 2 seats stalls row o seats 9-10 £25.00 each for tonight..

It looks like the opportunity to take a colleague to this on work - but that means we have to book tickets that are 'reasonable' in price. Any suggestions? Any band B tickets that are a decent view? I take it there are no offers about. We have to go Aug 22nd, can't be flexible on dates. Have you considered the todaytix app? They do rush tickets every day at 10.00am for £23 always plenty on there throughout the day...

It is a booking fee. Just tried to buy something as a test, and the "face value" if bought through the theatre direct is £41. The £6.60 is indeed an agency booking fee added on. It is clear on the confirmation screen once you have chosen your seat price and number of tickets, and they give you your seat numbers. Ah ok...tbh i didnt see any of that! Plus doing it on my phone makes things v small...You live and learn...😊

...i am an atg card holder Me too, but when I clicked through, I got it plus booking fees. Interesting. Still, am going to wait for Monday when I can choose my own seat, LOL. It is a bit confusing as my confirmation reads as follows... 2 x standard price at £47.60 each (includes £6.60 booking fee) Total sales price = £82.00 Will have to wait and see what comes out of my account!

Wouldn't get hung up on the ATG Card thing. It goes to their agency allocation, with a hefty booking fee and no seat selection option. I'm waiting for Monday, myself. I booked and wasnt charged a booking fee...i am an atg card holder...
