Thoroughly enjoyed this this evening...The Almeida have another quality production on their hands.. 2hrs straight through.. doesn't feel it either...cast very solid and a good set to work with.. feels modern and edgy..bravo.

I simply don’t believe that they’ve actually sold out. There was perhaps a presale cap on the number of tickets they would sell and they’ve decided to hold the rest back for general sale but there were so many available 90min ago across pretty much every performance that there must still be plenty left. Annoying for anyone who’s queued for 3 3/4 hrs having to join a new queue though… Although you have to wonder if many new people will be trying to book from 12:00 - anyone keen enough to want to book as soon as it goes onsale surely signed up for presale as it was free and all over the advertising. started at 8am and got to number 56 before the sold out alert...42,000 at start.

When do the Chichester productions get announced usually? First Thursday in Feb has been the norm for the last few years. 15th this year...

Someone told me that they only have another 3 years lease on the land and then it's being developed into social housing. Don't know how true that is but I think at the beginning they said it would be here for 5 years and then move on.
I understood that the situation had progressed in that respect, and (I guess due to the runaway success) that the venue had no deadline to work to anymore.
You know what local authorities are like - change planning rules all the time to suit themselves and are generally answerable to no one.
Perhaps Svana, Ludwig and co bunged the council top brass a proverbial "brown envelope"....
There was a recent article in the Times about this...saying they want to stay and in negotiations to see if they can stay and have the new housing developments in an slightly different area. It also mentioned another arena to be sit up in Germany and (I think) Australia..

Programme 10 No song list but info and bios rather than adverts. Raindrops or kittens t shirts £25. Needle pulling thread sweatshirt £40. They also have the recent sound if music release in all formats, lowest prices seen, the 4cd and blu-ray edition is £90. Still high but cheapest seen. But only two stalls selling so long queues. Seems mixed crowd and all ages. Any advised timings?

I thought as per the members email I received this week, the new released tickets were being released at noon..? Was this something else.. Donmar daily, for the following weeks performance on the same day, is always at 10am. So a double whammy with the noon release aswell...cool..

I took two minutes to reload the seating plan for my chosen date, and now all tickets off sale. Complete clowns. My seats were all grey and they became coloured after a few moments..

Really enjoyed this tonight..I was totaly swept up with the story more so than the music..The comedy aspect really worked. Audience reaction was strong at the end and great to see so many smiling people leaving the theatre...

I don't think this is a spoiler, because a lot of curtain call footage has been widely shared, BUT a question - (proceed with caution if you haven't seen the final scene) ..... {Spoiler - click to view}
Why do we think she is smothered in blood at the end? Why does she smear it around her neck? Is it her "madness". She has definitely shot Joe in this version hasn't she? Or something else? Has she been rolling around on him after he's bled to death?! There is no gun and no gunshots. There are flashing lights and loud music and in between the sound of Joe screaming like he’s being tortured, and the sound of Norma grunting etc. This coupled with the blood all over her face and mouth points to something like she tortured/attacked/bit him or something? It’s not clear at all but it’s reminiscent of a Gloucester blinding scene from King Lear. But we do see a gun earlier on at the start of the 2nd half..

Watched this yesterday with my daughter, we were watching the matinée at The Palace in Manchester. I really enjoyed it, wasn't really sure what to expect and we did read the synopsis to help us along as I've not watched any versions of Giselle before. Very dark, choreography was fantastic and wonderful dancing, particularly Giselles grief in act 1 and the pas de deux in act 2. Orchestra was stand out. Large in numbers and enhanced all the emotions of the dancing. Goosebumps at times, could see them really well from the front of the grand tier. Can't wait to see it again next week in Bristol...

‘Dazzling drama, Skylight’. Who are they trying to kid? It is interesting and well written but it ain’t dazzling. So many other plays but of course this a one set, and a two hander, isn’t it? (Maybe a third ch appears?) So cheap. I wish they bring Skylight to NT at Home. I’m quite underwhelmed with the slate of NT Live. Mostly reruns and only two are new ones (Vanya, Dear England) Are they running out of titles? The ones I could think of that deserve broadcasted proshots from recent shows: My Son’s A Queer Orlando Shirley Valentine Medea (though I think it’s not in Nica’s/Nimax’s best interests as they need to promote @sohoplace venue more) Dr Semmelweis (I don’t think Rylance is into it lol) Sunset Boulevard (we’ll never get the rights to this sadly) To Kill a Mockingbird (surprisingly no proshot of this?!) The Motive and the Cue (I think this is Broadway bound after its West End run, and/or a miniseries is likely) 99% certain motive and the cue was filmed..so will appear in some format at some point..

Opening delayed by 2 weeks, and extended to 11 May. On the site it still seems to be booking only until 13th April? I can't see mention of an extension to 11th May? Extension won't be visible yet ..as offering first seats to people affected by delay internally..

Just came out of queue (was about 4000)..went back in again vai email link..no queue . Straight to date ..seat plan etc and booked... That's because they had already reached that queue position, and your queue id was held in cookies. The queue was 9,700 at 10:03 and that position is down to 4,200 now (11:13), so the first 5,500 places have passed. Right now, the back of the queue has 15,000+ in front. Just went back in and it says I'm in queue postion 3000 and counting down..so it still must be remembering my postion...its not taking me to the booking page...so thinks I haven't booked when the queue disappeared briefly..?
