I wonder how desperate/urgent the refurb is. If 42nd Street continues to perform well and make a lot of money for everyone involved, and RUG decide they do want Frozen in there, would they be willing to put back the refurb in order to maximise revenues from 42nd St. but also not miss out on the money printing machine that Frozen is inevitably going to be.

I was there today and thought you did a great job. I did wonder at the time if you'd known about 'Steve' because you didn't seem startled by it, you just looked like you were enjoying yourself! I had a feeling it might be me but obviously didn't know for sure but that sortt of thing doesn't really phase me at all anymore luckily so I just enjoyed it I was in the equivalent seat to you but on the low numbers side and was very worried I'd get picked on...safe to say I was relieved when she came to you you were great!

The BKL version did the rounds a few years back, with [voiceover man]RACHEL ADEDEJI!!![/voiceover man] and the chap playing Jesus who looked so old he probably lived the same time as the actual Jesus. Let's have a tour of the Regents Park version please Wasn’t that Glenn Carter or have I remembered that wrong? I didn’t see that tour, but I did see Glenn play Jesus several times at the Lyceum. Can’t remeber when that was but I think mid to late 90’s? that's the one!!

They were in the middle of TWAI. Full refunds will be given, or exchanges if possible but I gather there aren’t many seats left!

Fire evacuation around half and hour into the show tonight (still wearing Shiz uniforms). In true British fashion an early finish at work means they MUST go to the pub. It's going to be interesting to see how Leeds Grand Theatre handle this. Hopefully better than the Bristol Hippodrome did during the bad weather. I think they will handle it better because they're an independently run theatre and not greedy ATG who didn't give any refunds whatsoever. I'd imagine that they have to investigate what happened/who/what started it. I gotta say it reminds me of school when there's a fire drill because they all came out wearing their uniforms! I mean, it’s entirely different isn’t it, let’s be honest here. If a show is cancelled, you’ll get a refund. ATG, RUG, independent venue, whoever. The situation in Bristol was a sh*tty one for those people who couldn’t go, but as has been said umpteen times on here, bad weather is beyond the control of the theatre and the producer. If Wicked decide they don’t wanna give refunds because of the weather, there’s naff all that ATG can do about that. If they gave refunds it would come from their coffers and not Wicked’s - and why should they do that? I know we all love to bash ATG but I think it’s important to stick up for them where appropriate, as I would for any organisation in this situation!

Hi, I’m looking to book this for September and there’s good seats in both stalls and circle - would people recommend being in the circle to see the full stage and choreography in row A or B, rather than being row D or E in the stalls? I’m usually a stalls person as I like to be close, but wondering if this is better from above?! best seat I ever had for this was fhe centre of row B in the circle. That said, it's a low stage so even the front stalls won't miss anything!

Alexandra Burke's cancelled her upcoming solo tour, due to start in September, because of "a change in her schedule"... potentially Bodyguard-related? wouldn't be at all surprised, the last tour sold very well on her name!

In advance, they'll juggle so Joreen does Sooha's show, and the u/s does Joreen's. Depending on how last minute the illness is, I'd imagine they would offer it to Joreen, but apply no pressure if she didn't feel up to a two show day.

I believe the latest firm rumour was for an early 2019 closure and a summer 2020 reopening. This was a whole ago though so wouldn't surprise me if it's changed.

I think when people post their negativity it's more productive to block them, report, delete their comments (if you can) and just ignore. Everyone talking about it just gives them the attention they crave. Whether this attention is good or bad they do not care, they are being noticed and getting attention so in their mind they are succeeding. Engaging with them will not work. They won't listen to reason or change. In their mind they are some kind of noble knight defending their favourites honour. I think you're spot on, Shady. That said, it's nice to have a good rant sometimes isn't it 😂

Jeremy Secomb also covered the Phantom for a couple of days a year or so ago. Appreciate it's different because both shows are Cam Mack, but still impressive that they'll allow a lead actor out to cover another show!

The sad thing with discounts is that it's purely down to the producer. Sure, venue marketing teams can push with potential offers, citing examples of other productions where discounting has been successful, but ultimately if the producer says no, there'll be no discount, and the theatre stays half empty. Bill Kenwright for example - discounts for his shows are rare, even when they're not full!
Theatre owners want bums on seats, because this will give them more bar revenue, but if it's not an in-house production, they have very little freedom in terms of discounting.

I had read it was for maternity cover so I presume Florence plans to come back in August. Florence is actually still with the show, and leaves in August to begin her maternity. She has said she's "too pregnant to be Mullins" so will be singing backstage. My guess is that she intended to perform until August, so they have maternity cover sorted for the (up to) 12 months from then. With her now needing to not be on stage, they'll have called Rosanna in to cover the gap until the main maternity cover starts. Phew, that was a mouthful.

I’m curious when a show closes, will they announce closure of a production knowing they have the next lined up? Or do they announce closures then wait for Producers to contact them and make enquiries? it can work either way - I would imagine that in this case they have something lined up. Time will tell!

I fully believe that Mean Girls will eventually open at the Savoy. It's a very similar show in terms of audience to the likes of Dreamgirls and Legally Blonde and I'm sure they'd be confident of it doing well at that venue.
That said, as I said in the other thread I just think it's a year or so too early for Mean Girls, based on the usual time period of Broadway to West End transfers.
Doesn't mean it won't happen of course, but I'd expect something else to slot in to the Savoy pre- Mean Girls.
