Caught the tour in Sunderland last night - must say this cast is excellent! Dylan Hodge was a very good Frankie, he had a lovely pure falsetto and terrific facial expressions! Declan Egan was a gorgeous Bobby too. Simon and Nick are hilarious.
I agree with the poster above about the sound issues, at times the balance wasn't quite right and some voices stuck out more than others (very noticeable during the 'big three' and Dawn). Jersey Boys is one of my favourite shows and I love going back to see it every time it tours but it felt a little flat last night, like something was missing. The audience weren't very responsive though, plus I was surrounded by talkers, sweet packet rustlers and out-of-tune singers! Very badly behaved overall, which was a shame.

Managed to get one of the last few remaining tickets for the Newcastle run, though for £60 I thought it was a bit pricey. Looking forward to it though, and to seeing Fleeshman & his guns again.

When I worked as an usher, I had a child projectile vomit on my shoes during panto and a man grab my tie and physically shake me all because I'd asked him to return to his seat for Act Two (he was very drunk and it was terrifying, typical Jersey Boys audience!)
Worst one though was when Calamity Jane was on tour and I was hurriedly running up some stairs backstage when I tripped, fell flat on my face and ripped my skirt up the back (thankfully I had tights on!) but when I heard a voice say "Are you ok?" and I turn to see Tom Lister, who was not wearing a shirt at this point I will add, looking very sympathetic towards me. SO embarrassing.

Forgot to mention when I saw it this weekend, several groups who had tickets for Wicked ended up in the Hamilton queue and the door staff had to call out several times to check if there were any lost people. How they managed to get the two shows mixed up I don't know, but it really tickled me!

Finally saw this last night and it was everything I’d hoped it would be and more. So slick, clever, witty and that stage is bursting with so much creative talent. Such a strong cast, they got it just right. Also loved how enthusiastic the audience were, HUGE cheers when Jamal Westman came out during the opening number.
Thought the ticketing system worked very well, my only complaint was the lack of legroom in the grand circle - I’m 5’6’ and struggled to get comfy, not to mention my poor partner who is 6’4’! It was worth it though. Oh and jumping on the ‘famous people at Hamilton’ bandwagon, I saw Suranne Jones and Tom & Giovanna Fletcher there last night.

I saw this today and LOVED it - so much colour and good for the soul. And what a soundtrack! Pasek and Paul have proved themselves once again. SO good.

Peter Pan Goes Wrong is one of the funniest things I've ever seen so was looking forward to this but was quite disappointed, I agree with what has already been said - it works better on-stage!

Well that was great - a really terrific cast, Scarlett Strallen was a beautiful Laurey! It was cleverly staged too, very slick choreography. And the John Wilson Orchestra were fantastic. Those of you who are going tonight/watching on TV are in for a treat!

Love how this thread has picked up, thanks for sharing all of your choices!
I'm currently enjoying the new Broadway cast recording of Hello Dolly and just discovered Bare, which I really like. Also revisiting the film soundtrack for Hairspray just because I love it so much!

This has been very difficult, like asking a parent who their favourite child is!
My three favourites are Sweeney, Into The Woods and Company. I've been fortunate enough to be in amateur productions of all three and the experiences changed my perception on musical theatre entirely, I've never seen any of them done professionally so they're on my bucket list! There are so many other bits of Sondheim from his other works that I love - Sunday, Merrily We Roll Along, Anyone Can Whistle etc. I adore Gypsy and West Side Story but since he only did the lyrics for those I won't count them on this occasion.
I've voted for Into The Woods.

I am very tempted to go to this, though I have never 'prommed' before. Would it be worth going on the day? I only wouldn't want to make a trip down from the north only to be disappointed I can't get in haha.

This thread is amazing.
I am so having Imelda Staunton screaming 'Here she is boys, here she is world, here's Rose' as they carry me in.

Caught the matinee in York today and it was just as wonderful as it was in London earlier this year. Layton Williams, Philippa Stefani and Billy Cullum are still the standouts, really raw, emotional performances where a lot of thought has been put into every word. Saw understudy Maureen too who was fantastic! Run to see this show before it finishes on tour, it really is special.

I've seen the film twice and loved it both times - I had my reservations about Emma Watson before seeing it but I thought she was the perfect Belle. Audra and Luke Evans are stars and I enjoyed Ewan MacGregor's 'Be Our Guest' (thought his voice sounded very strained in Moulin Rouge and this was a better sing for him). Loved the new songs too, the soundtrack is amazing! Fingers crossed this might give Disney a push to revive the stage version soon...

This new musical from Pasek and Paul (who brought us Dogfight and A Christmas Story) has just recently opened at the Music Box on Broadway, starring Ben Platt and Laura Dreyfuss.
Has anyone seen it? The soundtrack is phenomenal!

Saw this last night - felt a little panto, but a fun show nonetheless. I found the two leads a little bland, the Genie is clearly the star and I liked the three friends singing 'High Adventure'. Great set and costumes though, loved the magic carpet!

Caught the matinee yesterday and loved it! Charlie really is a star, he had so much elegance and wonderful stage presence, not to mention a gorgeous smile! Great show!
