Full casting and new dates from the official website From 18 November 2019 Dean Chisnall will play ‘Jean Valjean’, Nic Greenshields ‘Javert’, Katie Hall ‘Fantine’, Ian Hughes ‘Thénardier’, Felix Mosse ‘Marius’, Frances Mayli McCann 'Eponine', Charlie Burn ‘Cosette’, Barnaby Hughes ‘Enjolras’ and Helen Walsh ‘Madame Thénardier’.Just noticed the new cast date (above) of 18th November. Which would mean DURING the Southampton run, the new cast coming in for the last week. Does anyone know if this is a mistake or likely to be true? (Do recall one of the Cats tours doing a major cast change in the middle of it's Wimbledon run, but that is the only other example I can think of. It made for a very fat programme as they did one for the whole run but with both casts....) Definitely true.

Where's there been an announcement of a new show? No announcement yet but the casting call for dancers has gone out (full availability required from February 2020).

Did anyone do the last one, Kabeiroi? It had some clever moments but was very very long, not quite up to scratch compared to some previous ones. Although I do still prefer the ones where I'm sent on a solo adventure compared to those where a thousand people are charging around a warehouse looking for something happening. Kabeiro should have been marketed (and priced) as an R&D project because that's clearly what it was. It has some good moments but also way too much downtime.
But I have high hopes for the new show.

I finally caved and booked myself a ticket for this. I loved the production at the Open Air Theatre. And while I adored Declan Bennett’s take on Jesus I’m curious to see someone else in the role. As for Ricardo Afonso as Judas - the man’s voice is a dream. I’m very excited to see him on stage again.

If I try the TodayTix rush am I likely to get a ticket or is it very competitive? I haven't tried it but my friend has and apparently it is hard to get tickets. They only have 6 rush tickets per show.

In no particular order:
Final performance of Punchdrunk‘s The Drowned Man. You had to be there to understand. It was a special night.
First time I saw The Lord of the Rings at Drury Lane. I remember going in with zero expectations. We had bought tickets at the ticket booth. There was nothing else available on a discount we hadn’t already seen so we figured we‘d just give it a go. I was completely blown away by the sheer spectacle unfolding in front of me.
Watching the original London cast of Once - every single time. I loved the show in general and I still enjoyed watching it after the first cast change. But for me that first cast just had it all.

Ian McIntosh has an incredible voice and I‘m definitely tempted to see the tour just to hear him sing those songs.

How accurate is the 2 hrs 15 runtime? It was about 2hrs 25 minutes when I went 2 weeks ago.

Also, in Love Never Dies, there is a bar scene where the phantom (Ramin) is disguised as the bar man. Raoul is at the bar. The phantom rips off something and reveals himself to Raoul as a surprise. One woman in the audience was so SHOOK at the reveal that she screamed and everyone including Ramin started laughing. I was at that performance (no, I wasn’t the woman who screamed)!

My friend Kara Tremel was dance captain in the US National tour of Jersey Boys a few years back. Once they were so short on cast she had to go on for one of the male ensemble parts in one scene. And since it wouldn't have worked to just let that role be female she went on in a regular suit with fake moustache and all. It was a speaking part, too, so I'm sure that did raise a few eyebrows in the audience that night. Also Jason Winter (Kinky Boots - West End and now tour) has covered several ensemble parts at once in one show. I think he is the master of the split track by now. We had once a girl (a tiny one!) going on a male track in The Sound Of Music! Love such stories. I also remember Joe Davenport going on a female track in Memphis! Do you remember Jason covering more than 2 tracks? Or was it 2 at a time? I am pretty sure Jason covered more than two tracks only recently.

I think it will be really sad if there aren’t at least a couple of speeches acknowledging the end of this landmark production. Though sadly I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t anything. Either way, lots of fans are gonna be in so I do think it will be a really special night :-) There will be at least one speech.

Is anybody getting the promised heatwave? My weather app seems to have lost all control of itself in the last week or so ricocheting between temperatures of 33 and 23 for same day/hour. Threatening lightning and storms. Last night it was supposed to be raining throughout and the ground was barely damp. Yesterday I was allegedly mowing the lawn in 26 degrees but feeling a touch chilly. Things seem all over the place Proper heatwave in Germany. Currently at 34 degrees where I am and supposed to go up to 37 degrees later.

Just been watching some of Sundays performances on youtube. Does anyone know the name of the Franki Valli act people as 2 of them look familiar to me? The two most people would probably be familiar with were Simon Bailey and Paul Ayres. Ben Evans was Frankie

I think it might be an exception because they have the "person who buys the ticket must attend the show" rule in place for Sunday in the Park.

Can somebody please help me: I stupidly booked ticket yesterday (in a rush for various reasons) - only to realise today that I booked for the day of my friends wedding! *facepalm* I purchased ticket protection, will that allow me to get a refund? From the T&C:
If you can no longer attend the Event you have booked, please contact our ATG customer services team no later than 48 hours before the date of the Event and we will cancel your Ticket and exchange it for another of the same price on another date, subject to availability, or we will refund you for the Total Ticket Price paid, subject to an administration fee of £3 per ticket.

I loved this show so much at the Palace and Adam Cooper was wonderful in it. Definitely going to see this at Sadler's Wells.

Saw the concert in Cologne, too. I loved it. My highlight was the Boy from Oz section (including the final number). I never got to see the show on Broadway so this was about as close to watching Hugh Jackman as Peter Allen as I will ever get I suppose. Wasn't too keen on the Les Mis bits but hugely enjoyed the swing songs. Everything Greatest Showman related went down a storm with the audience, of course.
Special mention for Jenna Lee James. Hearing her sing This is me made my evening.
Hugely enjoyable evening. Can't wait for The Music Man next year.

Is everybody too young to have seen Idina and Kerry Ellis’ original (and superior) run? They just don’t seem to figure on peoples lists of potentially their most thrillifying nights in theatre? I saw both Idina and Kerry (in her original run) and yes, those were my favourite nights at Wicked. To be fair I pretty much stopped going after the first two years of the show's run apart from one visit to see Rachel Tucker in her original run and one visit a few years ago to see a friend play Fiyero.
So when it comes to comparing the two to more recent leads I'm the wrong person to ask. But for me Wicked just wasn't the same when I returned later on.

This has happened to me a few times when my seat was a single seat at the end of the row. Every time the seats next to mine were occupied by a party of two or more people. They obviously thought that surely no one goes to the theatre all alone so that lonely seat at the end of the row will definitely remain empty.

Alexander Hamilton... Ich heisse Alexander Hamilton... Eine Million Dinge noch zu tun... Warten Sie, warten Sie! (sorry if I failed miserably, I studied German almost 10 years ago and I've lost most of it lol) This is better than anything Stage Entertainment will come up with I bet!

I live in Germany. My main theatre going happens in London (every other month) and New York (usually 3 times a year).
What motivates me to go? The shows in London and New York are just so much better than most things I can see in Germany. Plus I get to combine theatre with time in two great cities (and seeing friends).

What they really should have done is have the decency to inform the current cast at the Queen's of their plans before announcing it to Joe Public. Yes and no I guess. Their contracts all finish in June/July. So it is different to the situation where something closes early, contracts are cut short and the cast are the last to know! It still would have been the decent thing to do. Of course the contracts finish in July. But letting the cast hear from the papers they are being replaced by an "all star" cast for the concert version is awful.
