I would assume JOJ will do it unless he’s otherwise engaged. I do hope they have a plan in place because lets face it, the chances of Alfie Boe actually turning up for all of his scheduled performances are slim.

What they really should have done is have the decency to inform the current cast at the Queen's of their plans before announcing it to Joe Public.

I saw this last month. It’s a terrible musical in my opinion. Wasn’t impressed by any of the songs. I also found it over-choreographed (like a lot of Drew McOnie‘s work - I generally love his choreography but I always feel he doesn’t know when to stop). Plus I really wanted to like the leading lady but just didn’t.
However, I did love the puppet. For me it was worth seeing for the spectacle but as a musical it just doesn’t work.

It showed me a website maintenance info earlier saying booking requests would be redirected during that time. I guess whichever agency they are linking to atm doesn’t have the July dates on sale yet.

I do three show days in New York regularly: Broadway matinee followed by a double Sleep No More. Broadway matinee: 2pm Sleep No More: 5pm Sleep No More: 9pm (finish at midnight)
Yes, it is a long theatrical day and since I’m on my feet for 2x 3 hours of Sleep No More it’s physically demanding too. Probably explains why I usually feel like I need a holiday after coming back from my holidays in New York.

I just booked for Cologne and regurlar tickets range from 63 Euro to 133 Euro. Then there's three categories of Golden Circle tickets (all front blocks) ranging from 181 Euro to 296 Euro. I went for the 133 Euro tickets which got me good seats in the pit area of the venue, second block from the stage. So definitely not cheap but also not as expensive as I had feared for a decent seat. I got so sick seeing the prices for Köln, I told my friend I'd rather go to Amsterdam if we can have the same kind of seats for 80 Euro there. It's more than 50 Euro saved per ticket. German prices are disgusting I considered going to one of the non German dates with cheaper tickets. But for me including travel and possibly a hotel for the night makes those dates more expensive than ticket plus the 1.5 hour drive to Cologne.

Take all my money! I am not even joking. I’ve seen him on stage a few times but those were all plays. A concert is something I’ve been waiting for. Happy there are dates in Germany too. :-)

Saw this on Saturday and adored it. What a pure joy to watch and not a weak link in the cast in my opinion.

David Thaxton is taking over for 6 months, then Tim returns in May. Tim is doing the Mike and the Mechanics tour in the Spring.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but Willemijn is part of the line up of West End does: Christmas at Cardogan Hall on December 1st so she definitely won’t be on that Saturday either.

Do they follow you on Twitter just because you're friends with the actor they're a fan of? Following an actor on social media, fine, but to follow the actor's friends - unless the friends are also actors who they follow because they are also fans of them - seems a bit odd even by social media standards. Oh, it's quite common for people to do that. It's partly wanting to feel close to the person they're a fan of, and partly (with the very famous) because friends and employees often post about stuff that the person themselves would keep locked down. There are Beyonce superfans who worked out she was about to do a surprise album release by following her regular make-up artist, dancers, etc on social media. I have a few Twitter followers who only started following me after they found out I’m friends with one if their favourite performers (no one famous). I don’t mind, my Twitter is public and I don’t post confidential or private info anyway. But I don’t really see the point either. On the other hand I know fans of another performer I’m close to (again, no one famous but with quite a dedicated fan base) follow me on Twitter even though they make no secret out of the fact they can’t stand me. I swear I was never rude to them - most of them have never even talked to me. Again, I don’t mind but I think they‘d be better off just ignoring me. :-)

Delfont Mackintosh have always been very helpful whenever I have exchanged tickets. I usually do it in person at the box office. They do charge a small fee - I think it’s around £2 - but occasionally the lovely box office people have even exchanged my tickets for free.

Physically Shrek definitely belongs on that list. Playing this role while being trapped in a costume like that is not easy. Also another vote for Valjen in Les Mis. Vocally I would also add Rachel in The Bodyguard.

Take That have just announced tour dates in Germany for 2019. I‘ve been a Take That fan since I was 13 (no shame) and I am looking forward to seeing them on stage next year. No interest in this musical though.
And yes, Take That were big in Germany in the 90s. But I‘m not sure fans will be traveling to Berlin to see this show especially when they can see the real thing instead.

I take Barre classes both in London and New York. Several of the instructors are performers who either teach between acting jobs or even teach in the morning and perform in shows in the evening. And why not? We all have to earn a living.

I saw Tatiana in Mary Page Marlowe at Second Stage this summer. Excellent stage actress. I’m actually tempted to go see this in New York now.

Tim is in it for 6 months. Then a former Javert takes over. Hadley Fraser, Tam Mutu, Jeremy Secomb, David Thaxton. Of those, think Tam would be an outstanding choice. EDIT: Also just seen Tim H's tweet... saying he's only in it until December 8th? Not sure why they’ve only announced him up until December. I’ve been told both he and the next Phantom are doing 6 months each.

I saw the first understudy Javert, James Hume, for the first time last night. Extremely impressive performance! Wonderful voice and great acting. Him and Dean work really well together, too. Guess I’ll just schedule my visits when Bradley is on holidays from now on.

Went to the show again on Saturday. First time seeing Bradley and while I absolutely appreciate he is a good performer with an incredible voice I'm afraid for me he simply is no Javert (yet). He looks way too young and the "older Javert" make up looks really unnatural on him. Also in my opinion he isn't intimidating enough - I didn't believe Jean Valjean would ever run from this man. Having said that this is his first week in the show coming straight our of Wicked. So I'm hoping he will grow into the role a bit more with time. He certainly can belt out "Stars", I do give him that.

Thank you Firefingers, I'm now trying to think of the 27 who came over. 7 of them are from the Cursed Child. Charlie Stemp for Hello, Dolly! Diana Rigg for MFL Glenda Jackson for Three Tall Woman Jye Frasca is playing Boq on Broadway Stephen Ashfield: I don't if he counts or not because 1.) he has been on Broadway for almost two years. 2.) Book of Mormon has American Prices and Cunninghams on the West End so they might have a separate setup with the actors union. I'm not sure about the current cast of The Play That Goes Wrong. I know most of them are British but, I'm pretty sure they have all lived in America for a while and might be members of the AEA now. I now i'm missing a lot but here is just a small sample of British actors on Broadway right now. If i'm wrong feel free to correct me. Jye Frasca is Australian and moved to the US permanently a few years back so he probably doesn’t count.

Booked for Guildford. Not 100% sure I will be able to go but at £25 I'm willing to risk it.

Good: Amber Riley in Dreamgirls, Alfie Boe in Les Mis
Bad: Ronan Keating in Once, Kimberley Walsh in Shrek, Amanda Holden in Shrek
Ugly: David Hasselhoff in Chicago - he was entertaining but for all the wrong reasons

Delfont for me. The theatres tend to be well maintained and every ticket issue I've had was sorted quickly and without any hassle. Lovely box office staff too. The website is easy to navigate. And while the single seat rule when booking online annoys me that's not exclusive to Delfont.

So how does the ticketing work, in a nutshell. I'm meant to be going to the matinee on 14th July but can't now - how on earth would I be able to transfer a ticket to a friend, without it going to waste? You can't transfer tickets. Ticketmaster will refund your tickets minus a small fee (I think £3) if you give them a call.

David hasn't done the show since Monday and Lee has had to emg cover all week. Yesterday WELive rehearsal David was at but didn't do the show. I wonder what has happened? He hurt his wrist in the show on Monday. Guess he’s not well enough to do the full show again yet.
