I mean it’s one thing to suggest, as is your right, that you didn’t enjoy John’s performance, but another thing entirely to suggest he can’t sing?!? Amen to that! I’m glad others were baffled by that post as well. Maybe it’s not to everyone’s taste (personally I think he’s got a lovely voice) but there’s no denying his singing ability.

If he said anything before he can then people wouldn't use him to release information. Yes you’re right but just don’t say anything until you can say something.

I don’t know much about Baz but he sounds like one of those annoying people “in the know” but never actually says anything until they can.

Are you sure it’s allowed? There certainly isn’t any signs. The finale is when Jamie has a hand held microphone to sing the final song and the whole cast is on stage - I think it would be worth checking with the front of house staff though as I wasn’t aware you could film when I was there, or it certainly isn’t made obvious. Thank you I will check, I've seen so many finale videos I just assumed it was allowed! Xx No worries - enjoy the show, I had a great time when I went a couple of months ago.

Sorry if this has already been asked, watching the matinee this afternoon, I know your allowed to film the finale how do you know when abouts your allowed to film from? Does someone hold up a sign or something? Thank you xx Are you sure it’s allowed? There certainly isn’t any signs. David Hunter and Nicole Raquel Dennis had tweeted about having 3 weeks or 24 shows but deleted them, so I think they may be departing then too. aingidh ooooh interesting! What did they tweet exactly? I woulda thought David and Nicole would be contracted for a while year? I’m sure somebody tweeted him saying they were sad he was leaving and his response was some sort of meme or gif with a caption of “I’m not going anywhere”.

She'd be great in Blood Brothers too but would she want to be on tour with that. Doing concerts means she gets to sing all the best songs and it keeps her ticking over without the worry of how well a show is going. She'd be too old to do Glinda but could go green again I guess. I liked her Elphaba but it was jarring after seeing her as Glinda and hearing her sing Elphaba’s songs, I think she also struggled with the score a bit. I’ve always thought I’d really like to see her as Miss Honey in Matilda.

Interval thoughts: Helen is a sensation. Ensemble are the best we’ve had for years, absolutely on FIRE. Nikki must’ve made a great standby, she is super safe and inoffensive - not enough for me personally but she’s a super safe choice for them. Alastair is very underwhelming, super wooden and keeps singing in an American accent? Visit number 60 for me tonight so a bit of a milestone..god I feel old! I'm so happy with the new ensemble as well and I'm keeping my fingers crossed this doesn't wear off and isn't just the excitement in the first few weeks that keeps them going... Same opinion on Alistair though I feel like with a bit more time he could get somewhere?! It's hard to take on a role opposite two leads that are Nikki and Helen who already know what they're doing. And on Nikki, she definitely is keeping is safe now that she's in the West End, she went back to very much score (as opposed to the tour). However I feel like that's a smart choice given she has to do 8 shows a week now and her holidays aren't coming for quite a while... If I was the musical director of Wicked I think I’d be hated by the fans - Nikki playing it safe and singing to score is music to my ears. I think I may return to see the show again sooner than anticipated now.

The way Sophie sang 'die alone' at the matinee yesterday like Louise Dearman is gorgeous - I wish she had always done that.

Wishing Alice and Sophie and the cast a good send off tonight. I think Alice has been a great Elphaba overall, and I have enjoyed her performance the 3 times that I have seen her. Sophie has grown so much over the past couple of years which I think has been lovely to see.
I haven’t seen Wicked since September but I’m sure I’ll go back again to see the new cast.

I haven’t seen the recording yet but on the subject, I wish Jordan Fox had been given the chance as lead and had been filmed. He was really excellent on my first trip to KB.

Are the ensemble vocals in the first number in everybody’s talking about Jamie pre recorded?
The note at the end of DG isn’t pre recorded. I’ve seen that note sung many different ways by the same actress.

Saw this for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Layton gave a great performance as Jamie, you could feel the audience were really rooting for him from the beginning. Faye was good as Miss Hedge and Bianca got a huge cheer when she appeared as Loco. She’s not the strongest singer but her performance overall was very enjoyable.
I’ll definitely be making a return visit to see this, I hadn’t expected it to be so funny. I have spent a lot of time in Sheffield and the accents and references really made me smile. Also Dean the bully was very attractive.

I liked his voice on the DEH recording but I just cannot listen to his album - the vibrato gives me a headache. I’m surprised he’s not been coached to tone it down. I'm going to have to eat my words. Yes, I still find his vibrato too much but I'm currently goint through a very recent break up that has left my pretty heartbroken. One of Ben's songs came on on my Spotify and it's led me to listening to his album again and I've found it really comforting.

If she does stay would the not taking holiday at the beginning of the contract rule apply to her since she’s been there a couple of years? I guess I’d the standby is brand new and not fully rehearsed...

If whoever they are is posting hints on a public Twitter account can we just say who it is so everyone can be involved in the speculation? Nobody is going to hold you to it if it ends up being false but this thread is just getting boring.

Well, having seen Rachel John in concert this evening, all I can say is the Wicked producers and casting directors are complete and utter idiots for not ever hiring her. That's all. Very jealous. Did she sing anything from Wicked at all? She was the highlight of the Bodyguard for me and equally as excellent in Hamilton

OK fabulous, the rumour I heard was true then. So that means the Glinda and Elphaba are likely true too, to in which case, yay! What is the rumour?

I mean most of those 29 visits were probably comps seeing as Daddy is the producer of the show? 😂 You learn something new every day! And after having a google I’ve discovered ex broadway Fiyero Jonah Platt is Ben’s brother.

If he really was gasping loudly I'd have told him to be quiet too - that's one for the bad behaviour thread! Same, he sounds annoying to sit next to.

Well, I have to say I really enjoyed this. Loved Katharine McPhee this evening, along with Marisha Wallace who was the stand out for me. It was nice just to be taken out of the real world for the evening and into this story. She used to be Mine was the highlight but my criticism would be that I wanted more from it - it seemed to build to nothing? They should start advertising Waitress - and all west end shows really - as a current escape from real world Brexit misery! 😄😭 Marisha on her insta stories said there’s 17 days to go until her Cost Rica / NYC holiday, so if people want to see her specifically in the show take that into account 👍 Not sure how long she’s on hol for. Haha they actually should - granted I had had a few glasses of wine (but I did not show anything to be posted in the bad behaviour thread may I add!!), I just came out smiling and happy for a couple of hours of escapism from everyday life. Upper circle which we booked for was closed and we were upgraded to excellent seats in the dress - only paid £20. Good for me, probably not much, unfortunately, for the show.

My advice is if you haven’t seen this show yet, and want to- book it quick. Very quick. I’m not sure how it works but do you think the Adelphi wishes kinky boots hadn’t left? Or was that not selling many seats either?

The ticket prices in New York are absolutely absurd. Hamilton is a fantastic show. It, however, is not worth $749 (and then some!). I’m sure someone would disagree with me but it’s so bad how inaccessible theatre can be.

It really is, I get they want to maintain hype (presuming that’s why they’re doing this?) but I’d have thought they would making the more casual theatre goers lose interest when they have to keep putting dates in the diary to try and get tickets. Trips to the West End are something that people often need to save up for and plan in advance and this system just doesn’t work for that. Exactly. I'm flying to the UK in October and I'm waiting to book other shows and plan other things since I don't know which day I'm seeing this! Meanwhile the shows you could book for in advance are getting more and more booked up... very frustrating.
