No one needs a 5 hour Wicked film (be it in two parts or not) - and I say this as a hardcore fan who has seen it a lot 😂 Agreed. It reminds me of when The Hobbit got split into 3 films - I couldn’t even make it through the first without switching off.

If Ariana starts riffing and running in Good News I’ll be taking my nachos and my bucket of cola and leaving 😑 This is what I’m afraid of with Ariana. Stick to the score please! I also don’t see her as Glinda but maybe that’s because I’ve only seen her sing an Elphaba song.

Masks are going to be enforced here - there’s already been 2 announcements asking for masks to remain on. I didn’t hear any announcements at all this evening, but I sat down at about 7:15pm so perhaps I missed them. The majority of the balcony audience were sat unmasked which was a shame to see. Besides sitting behind the most obnoxious group of people who chatted and sang along and screamed and shouted anything to try and get attention… This was an absolute blast!! What a great show, I’ve never seen a professional production of it before. There are a lot of highlights but I thought Lizzie Bea was fantastic as was Michael Ball. Marisha Wallace’s voice raised the roof. Apart from the people say behind, the audience were lapping it up and you could see how thrilled the cast were. Loved it!

I have tickets to see this on 20th July but I've just looked on Ticketmaster and it says the performance is cancelled - I'm assuming this is an error as I can't find any information about it unless somebody else has heard different? Now you've got me worried. I'm supposed to be going on 21st matinee. Saw the original production several times. It doesn’t say anything about 21st, just 20th that says cancelled. I’ll have to give the box office a call.

Waiting until September seems sensible to me. I do worry for the shows saying June/July, we all know how much the Government likes a U-Turn.
Imagine being the Glinda who says 'It's good to see me, isn't it?' on the first show back - a special moment I think!

Good interview here with Louise Dearman about her time in Wicked, both Glinda and Elphaba runs. We hear so much from actresses who play Elphaba that I think it's good to hear more about Glinda and the challenges the role has. Also nice to hear her talk about her final Glinda performance and her 'Die Alone' belts.

Wicked feels like a long distance dream. I do wonder if the AV will ever get back to normal. I mean it’s such a large theatre is it even viable with socially distanced audiences .( If that ever becomes an option) What a crazy time we are going through I've had similar thoughts and it sometimes makes me wonder if Wicked will reopen at all in London. However it is a very well known musical and I imagine once theatres do start opening it will be these shows that stand a chance of attracting the biggest audience vs. something that is brand new that nobody has seen so it does have that in its favour.

I had completely forgotten about Natalie Andreou! I never actually saw her live but what heard, I loved - did anybody on here actually get to see her live? I'd be interested to hear about her portrayal. I caught a performance in 2015 and don’t recall her leaving much of an impression. She didn’t really belt and cut a lot of notes short when I saw her. However, at the time she was standby to screechy Emma Hatton and so it was a huge relief to see she was on. Hmmm yes Emma Hatton unfortunately kept me away from Wicked for a few years. Don't get me wrong, I think she is talented, I just didn't feel her voice was right for Elphaba, she tended to slide her way around the score.

Does anyone know what really happened to Nikki Davis Jones? If I remember rightly, the rumour was that she cancelled her West End run after causing irreparable damage to her voice during the first UK tour. Apparently she no longer sings. Natalie Andreou is another former standby who has vanished, deleted all social media etc. I had completely forgotten about Natalie Andreou! I never actually saw her live but what heard, I loved - did anybody on here actually get to see her live? I'd be interested to hear about her portrayal.

If they've done that then I struggle to understand how they've managed to avoid censoring the opening number the way it is censored for radio, but better if they haven't! What needs censoring in the opening number? I'm assuming its the opening line. Lin explained on Twitter that any more than 1 f**k is an automatic R rating so they've had to censor two of them but everything else is compliant.

Gina Beck has tweeted a ‘big up’ for stage actors successfully working in tv; specifically that her 2 US tour Elphabas & the u/s are all now leading ladies in tv shows, and I wondered who they were? I’ve tried searching the world wide web but to no avail. I wondered if Kate Reinders (doh! She was a Glinda) might have been one as she’s in that HSM thing. Anyone know? 😀 I know one of them is Alison Luff and there is an article here about her casting in a drama about wrestling - deadline.com/2020/01/alison-luff-cast-heels-starz-wrestling-drama-series-1202822846/I’m on sure on the other two though.

I remember when Rachel was in The Last Ship she performed If You Ever See Me Talking to a Sailor on TV in America - does anybody know where I could find that recording at all? I'd really like to see it again but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I saw this on Monday night as I wanted to see the original London cast before they leave on Saturday. What a fantastic show! Such a heartwarming story out of tragic circumstances and told so wonderfully. It’s so clever how they can slip in and out of each character with limited costumes and props.
Rachel Tucker was fabulous as Beverley Bass, Broadway are lucky to have her. It was also a special moment, as a Wicked fan, to see her and Clive Carter on stage together again, at one point dancing across the front of the stage during the kissing the fish ceremony.

I am actually devastated for Nikki. I met her a few times during the tour and she was an absolute angel. A total powerhouse vocally and she really had such a lovely portrayal of Elphaba! I'm wishing her nothing but the best for the future! Agreed, I haven’t met her, but she was great. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance when I saw her in December. Wishing her all the best.

Bee is surely Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud? I’ve just caught up on this show since reading about it here and I think your absolutely right. I’ve thought for a long time Nicola was the most under rated member of Girls Aloud. If it is her then I thought she did a good job of that Sia song.

Has anyone seen the show recently? What were your thoughts on the current cast? I saw it recently and really enjoyed this cast. Nikki Bentley was great in the role and had an excellent voice. Helen Woolf got a lot of laughs out of a Tuesday evening audience (I was sat near the from other the circle so can’t speak for the stalls but I’d say the circle was approx 70% full), Alistair Brammer was a handsome Fiyero and it was wonderful to see George Ure again, his Scottish accent really suits the role.

Heard this from a friend of a friend of a friend today, so gather up as much salt as you can as I say this - there's a rumour that Idina and Kristin are being lined up to do a London stint in Spring 2021. This is based on nothing concrete so may be bogus, but you know how much we love a bit of speculation on here 😀 my initial reaction if it does come to pass was that Kristin would probably still be awesome but I'm not sure Idina's voice would hold up to it these days. Still. Let the rumour mill run riot! I can’t see it happening personally but I do live a bit of speculation. To be honest, I don’t think idina’s voice was up for it back in the day either. No I never saw her live but I’ve always found her to be vastly over rated.

Is Nikki back on regularly now? She was excellent tonight. My favourite kind of Elphaba, strong portrayal and a wonderfully clear voice with excellent belt sung very much to score.

Not sure who was in for Jenna tonight (don’t think it was Lucie Jones) nailed it. Lovely vocals, great portrayal. Laura Baldwin is fantastic. Joe Sugg was... excellent!! Laura cracked up at one point and struggled to compose herself, much to the enjoyment of the audience.

Show cancelled this afternoon due to a burst water pipe in Victoria area. Not sure if curtain went up but I’m guessing it did since the announcement has only just been made.
Update still to come about tonight’s show. Shame for Idriss on his last day.

Rachel Tucker seems to have announced at her Stages Cruise concert that she;s leaving the show in Feb. So what is the source for the person upthread who said she is staying and fitting in gigs around it? Difficult to decide which second hand report to believe at the minute! I’m sure she tweeted that herself after the gigs were announced and people started asking if she was leaving. If Feb is true then I need to hurry up and see her in CFA.

Well, that 60 minutes flew by! What a great first episode and its amazing how understanding all the references really adds something else to the show. Bring on next week.
