I’m excited!!
Do we think it’s going to be a tough one to get tickets for? Or I’m just a stagey bubble?!!

Love the score for this show, it’s crazy how it’s restricted digitally to Australia.
I really hope we get it’s original score & it does grace London at some point!

So here is my hot take:
The score remains brilliant, it’s knowing (a little camp) but remains a delight (ok ‘Blood in the Water’) remains as it’s dud song!
Now of course whilst a good score remains a good score, I’m afraid I found this production only OK which feels such a shame as I love this musical but well…
The set is terrible (I cannot work out the concept nor who signed this off), it just feels cheap & damn if you are not going to have a inspiring set I would go for a bare stage & have very creative lighting (also very basic looking props)!
I have to agree what others have said, the costumes are so cheap, I haven’t felt for one moment that Elle worships ‘Vogue’ & fashion!
Now this is no doubt a talented cast but it’s so mis-cast, I don’t feel like I’ve been to Harvard law school, it’s almost trying to be a diverse cast as possible that I ended up having no believe in any of it. I warmed up to ‘Elle’ towards the end of Act 1 & was more connected to her in Act 2 but the portrayal here is odd & it’s odd I felt such a disconnect to her (I just don’t think she was that character who you should love from the get-go in the mall even if she is a little self-involved).
I don’t understand the dogs being played by actors at all (what an odd decision, it adds nothing & seems more mocking of the material!).
I actually am OK with it being set in modern day but don’t think it adds anything & I would have kept set in the 2001 era!
Thankfully it’s best number (which is totally glorious un-PC) ‘Gay or European’ has been kept in tact & it’s the best song (‘Bend & Snap’ & ‘Ireland’ remain a highlight too!).
Stand-out star is ‘Paulette’ but again not a patch on Jill Halfpenny, Denise VanOuten & Jodie Jacobs who I have seen in the role!
The magic of it turning into night in the open air is totally lost here, not the fault of the musical or even production as a whole in earnest but again it’s the lack sure set & lighting (there’s no magic or change from day to night).
Omg Elle’s ‘back in the game’ pink outfit to court (It’s needs to change) I’m sorry but Elle Woods would never have her mid-drift on display in court (it’s against the character & can’t work out what the costume designer is trying to prove?!).
Now my seat was perfect, getting todays £15 front row seat, I could see everything & well it’s a steal at that price!
So didn’t hate it but do feel it’s legacy in London might be somewhat trashed by this! It has a merit but this lacks!

To anyone who has been already - can you take a drink/snack in with you? Hi, correct you can bring your own snacks and food with you. The writing is a little hard to understand but certainly never had an issue taking own drinks into the theatre at other productions. Can I bring my own food to the theatre? Although we would prefer you to purchase food and drink at the theatre as this revenue further supports our productions, you may bring your own picnic to eat on the picnic lawn or in Queen Mary's Gardens next to the box office in Regent's Park (please do not bring sharp knives). Hot food purchased elsewhere may not be brought onto the premises. Those purchasing food may be given priority to tables at the theatre and, though drinks purchased from our bar may be taken into the auditorium, food is not permitted in the auditorium.

£15 front row seats are amazing value. The stage is high but there is a decent gap so you can see everything without straining your neck. I went it to having only known a few songs but never actually seen the musical. I really enjoyed it. I thought the songs were really great and the book was funny. I would give it 4/5. The cast are incredibly talented. Courtney, Lauren (the skipping!) and Billy Nevers we’re standouts for me. I’d agree with what others have said already. The costumes and set design are really bad. I’d say they drag down my overall rating to a 3/5. I’d already had a ticket for July booked but I think I will have to go again at some point in between. Glad you enjoyed! They replied to my message on Instagram saying: “ Hi, I'm afraid that was a one off offer but please keep an eye on our social media channels for future offers. Best wishes, The Open Air Theatre Team” so strange that they ended up doing the front row £15 seats tonight. Hopefully they’ve got it wrong and I can pick one up on Thursday. That’s a shame if the case, I had planned to try for £15 front row today, this is the exact show you would expect to have a front row deal this at every performance, it hooks in the fandom crowd (they will seat in other seats but likely to go see more often) & gets in the curious crowd! I want to see but not sure I want to part with £60 to go see especially seeing it’s sounding to not quite be of the same quality of the production we got at the Savoy in its original London run.

Seen this on Broadway and loved it (it’s not a masterpiece but I liked the new score, it was feel-good & also many teary moments!).
Simon if confirmed will be great casting!!

Loved this show on Broadway and is a go to cast recording for me (even got on vinyl!).
Stand-out moments of the show are: Smiling (one of the most creative & memorable sequences (stage choreography) & ‘You Outta Know’ is a powerhouse (jump to your feet to applaud)!
I can’t wait for this to be part of the West-End!!

Gutted, this is going far too soon.
I feel lucky I got over to Broadway in November and have seen this show live on stage.
So grateful we have a cast recording (and Netflix filmed version too).
I look forward to its revival in 20 years on the fringe scene!!

This was just fabulous last night, I do agree that it’s score is forgettable for this but it’s a masterful to have the classic movie score played throughout the show (I loved that aspect to this adaptation from screen to stage).
How no idea had cover ‘Marty’ on last night, Will was great!
The lighting, set design and special effects are wonderful, I got such a feel-good buzz from this.
So whilst it’s not a classic score (will of course listen to the cast recording upon release!) this is such a wonderful zany and fun production I’m already stoked for a return visit in January (might do a rush at some point).
Great Scott

If there is a modern version of 'Not Since Carrie' the book will be called 'Not Since Indecent Proposal' All the leads have been fantastic in other shows, but not one of them can make this work. I could write so much more about it, but none of it remotely good. I'll stick to the positives: There's a kitsch hostess trolley in the first half (but even that is all wrong for this) Edit: I have never been embarressed for a performer before. Tonight i couldnt sink down into my seat enough. Not because of their performance, but because of the material they had to work with in Act 2. I found Act 2 better than Act 1 but agree this is a misfire of a show (I adore ‘Pretty Woman’ & so thought this had potential) What a shame but sometimes musical adaptations just don’t work!

So firstly how beautiful is the inside, it honestly felt like I was in a palace!
My £20 was amazing, I was Row G and the sight line was perfect, the row in front & my row only had about 4 others (no one sitting next to me), the rest felt fairy full though so I was just really lucky that’s where my day seat placed me!!
It’s such a fun Disney show which is very faithful it’s source material just with additional songs so it’s earth shattering different to the movie but of course fun to see act on stage & with the brilliant special effects (loved the dress change & the ice bridge!!).
Samantha & Stephanie shined as the leads along with a spirited ensemble.
It’s a perfect family show, it’s not very deep but it’s a nice message (sisterhood, being your true self) & a big budget stage magic!
I will probably see again in its run or take someone at some point but many other shows to see (see again) before then but I left with a big smile & fuzz after so 4 stars!!

Went to preview screening last night and absolutely loved it!
Saw 3 times at Charing Cross, so noticed the changes made from stage to screen but these were solid choices & made sense for cinematic appeal but still very much has the core and heart of the original stage production.
Both ‘96,000’, ‘Blackout’ (the nightclub) & ‘Carnaval Del Barrio’ are such impressive & epic ensemble numbers (truly some of the best on screen since ‘West Side Story’).
The plot remains thin but this is truly about the good and bad communities face, relationships & finding your place in the world that is it’s core so a simple plot drives it to focus on these themes.
This feels like a big musical cinematic hit (it’s so wonderful to see), can’t wait to go see this one again!
