With his casting, it’s definitely either a Broadway or West-End tryout!!
Excellent casting I must say!

I saw Amber in ‘Bring It On’ & was impressed so I think this is a good casting choice for the tour!

I have to say overall this was disappointing. There’s a good musical in there somewhere but this was a confused mess that seemed to want shock value over substance and it really lacked heart.
The cast are talented & in good voice (sound mix issues aside).
The show for me made no impact, one I will forget about I’m afraid to report. Can’t get my head how this won the Tony over ‘Paradise Square’ (yes I am aware of the troubles with its producer)

Big fan of the musical, saw it on Broadway but this is a big pass for me!
Casting is such a letdown for this and that venue with those prices, just no!

Went for my 2nd time on Wednesday, it must come over!!
I would love Victoria Clark to do it here!
My be a unpopular choice on here but I think Sheridan Smith could be great as ‘Aunt Debra’

Just to say I saw this last Saturday night, I’ve already let you all know I love this show!
It was utterly brilliant & still think it’s so sad the Imperial is dark & it deserved to play longer!
I did stage door and the buzz & fandom was so fun to be a part of!

Well this is an instant buy for me, more for Broderick than SJP. Do not get me wrong he is brilliant in it but this is SJP’s show especially the 3rd act. Saw on Broadway at the Hudson & was worth every penny! Absolutely delighted it’s coming over!

In NYC now & this is the musical we have had to sacrifice (nominated musicals aren’t doing a Sunday matinee pre-Tony’s) so this is good news!!!

Likely a concert I imagine! They will hopefully get a fun cast in, I totally want to go see (loved it on Broadway!)

This was just absolutely terrific this evening!
I saw originally & loved it then, didn’t miss the resolve!
It’s such a gem of a show, we are lucky to have it back (where it belongs!!)

Feeling so sad for all involved, I simply adore this show!
Seems I have a fairy godmother though as I fly in to NYC in the morning of 3 June & I’m now booked to go on the Saturday night!!
I’m going to the ball!

Really looks like it’s captured the stage production, looking forward to it!

I saw him in ‘Annie’ as ‘Lily Savage’ as ‘Miss Hannigan’ in early 1999.
It was absolutely wonderful, & was a comedic genius.
Paul was truly a trailblazer for the arts & LGBT matters.
What a sad loss

I too was taken by surprise that it was today for the PWC preview tickets!
3 hours later & have 2 tickets booked, didn’t quite get a premium seat like last time in the stalls but row B in Baylis it is!
So looking forward to returning to this show!!

What do we reckon? Going in as a filler in a West-End theatre?

How is the ball scene done on Broadway?
We got to spin around the theatre, is there a revolve on stage at the Imperial?

With it touring to places like Milton Keynes, Woking, Bromley and Wimbledon, I’d assume it won’t be running concurrently with the production in the West End. Possible a final extension through the summer to be announced? That’s what I think, hope they announce the plan soon as I would like to attend the final show!

Tour announced, I think it may be the case we do see the show leave London soon (I hope to be there for the final performance!) as Wimbledon is on the tour.
I have loved having this show here, I first saw on Broadway!
I truly hope we get a Broadway musical transfer in its place!

My feelings are lukewarm after seeing on Broadway!
Now I thought the cast & ensemble were great & boy did it look good (costumes, set design) but I would give it 3 stars.
It’s score seem to samey number to number, I love tap but maybe it was overused (although the chase tap scenes were great fun), it had a nice message to it but it didn’t just click to me the way it should!
I would much rather we see ‘Kimberley Akimbo’ come this way than this!

Technically you are missing ‘Hercules’ but it’s only done a short run at the public theatre & is about to start (Feb 16 - March 29 at Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey) so maybe one for the future!
The one you are missing is ‘Freaky Friday’ (It’s only professional was in Arlington, Virginia) & they made a TV musical for the Disney channel /Disney+ however I saw this at Arts Ed in early 2020 & would be wonderful if fringe got hold of it!

It’s a shame this hasn’t made its way here on stage, saw October 2019 & it was a blast, also listened to the cast recording this week and it’s a good score!
Seems a shame we haven’t had many Broadway transfers, I was in NYC last week, I’m hoping we see ‘Kimberley Akimbo’ on these shores in the next few years!!

Saw before Christmas, was it brilliant & 5 stars, no but it was enjoyable enough & could definitely return!
I would say the majority of songs are rather forgettable but it did contain around 3 great songs (which for that factor I wouldn’t mind a cast recording), I thought the Act 1 closer was brilliant, it was pure Dolly but was singing it throughout the interval!
At the end of the day, it was cosy and feel-good which this tale should be!!

‘Matilda’ is Dahl’s masterpiece & has been one of my favourite books for over 30 years, I loved the audiobook too, the 1996 film adaptation & the stage musical on the West-End!
This adaptation of the stage musical is an absolute triumph! Tim Minchin’s score is so strong & it shines throughout this motion picture, it features some of the best musical film choreography ‘(Revolting Children’ is out of this world & yes ‘Red Beret Girl’ kills it!) I’ve seen on the big screen. I do think loosing ‘Mr Wormwood’ & ‘Mrs Wormwood’ songs is a miss but I understand why, as the film needs to focus on the core story, the big emotional songs hit hard & are very effective, yes I cried through each of them (‘When I Grow Up’, ‘Quiet’, ‘My House’ & new song ‘Still Holding My Hand’.
I can’t wait to go see this again!! 🎞️📚

Loved this yesterday (matinee)!
We were sat in the side in circle & supposedly restricted view seats, nothing to worry about was perfect view and a steal for the price I paid for two tickets!
This was such an upbeat & emotional score & show, it truly was glorious (I can’t wait for it to make it to the West-End & no doubt Broadway in its future!).
Sure it’s a little overlong but it’s so fresh, the set is simple yet effective and the ensemble is brilliant with Katie giving a career best top of their game performance, that Act 1 closing number (goosebumps & tears!)

This had a polished & exciting Act 1 but it’s Act 2 was a complete mess and it’s structure fell apart however it was brimming with potential!
