So this has been brilliantly received. What do people who went think it should mean? Future production? On what scale for the potential audience? Bonnie & Clyde was an interesting case: Big concert >> small scale but 'West End' venue >> up to larger scale venues for Tour. I doubt it means anything. It's one of those shows that's perfect for a concert as it gives people a chance to hear the music. It had a well received shortish run at Southwark some years ago but its quite "niche" so don't see it having a revival or a London run.

That's how to do a concert! The sound was amazing and I could hear every single word crystal clear. Fantastic orchestra, choir and ensemble but the leads blew the whole thing out of the park. I knew Bradley, Trevor, Louise and Rachel were going to be superb but this was something else. Louise and Rachel were absolutely perfect together and their duets gave me goosebumps. Especially I Will Never Leave You which got a mid show standing ovation that went on for a few minutes. I thought it was really well put together and small amount of dialogue helped to explain the story really well. You could see that this concert was really well rehearsed. Its always been one of my favourite musicals even though I have only seen it once at Southwark Playhouse years ago but I love the score and there are so many really powerful songs in it. Lambert Jackson have really upped their game with the quality of their concerts and I am looking forward to their other ones in the next couple of months that I have already booked. And lastly please can Bradley Jaden do a concert as we so need this.

That was one heck of a concert. My thoughts tomorrow when they should make more sense.

Currently on Amazon Prime to own for £3.99 Just watched it and what a disappointment. I loved the musical and saw it multiple times as I was working at the Menier when it was on there. Half the songs are missing in the film and many of the ones left are almost unrecognisable as they have been changed around so much. Have to say that pretty much all of the recent stage to screen musicals have left me underwhelmed, thinking especially of Jamie and Evan Hanson.

I've been doing it on and off for most of my life from helping out in an old people's home when I was a kid and, more recently, at our streets summer and Christmas street fairs. Also at my GP surgery as part if the PPG group. But the longest and, without doubt, best volunteer job I had was at a London fringe theatre where I worked for 10 years. I only stopped because they decided to have paid ushers rather than volunteers otherwise I'm sure I would still be there. It was an amazing time and, as it was a small theatre I was part of the team so got to meet all the creatives, casts and the many celebrities who came to see the shows. It was a totally different world than my 9-5 job in the public sector. I retire this year so would love to maybe go back to volunteering in a theatre or, better still, do a couple if days a week and get paid somewhere. Then I could still afford to go to the theatre which I probably wouldn't be able to do as much on a state pension.

I looked at the list and think I know 5 of the names suggested. However even the inclusion of Nikita from Strictly won't get me watching it. I'm amazed it's going on ITV 1. Thought it had been relegated to one of the minor channels years ago.

I've seen Frozen 4 times and the kids have been fine. Granted they chatter a bit but it's not disruptive and usually quite amusing. As others have said I've had far worse behaviour in shows from adults.

Ticket now taken.
I've just posted a spare ticket for the concert on the noticeboard. It's a bargain if you don't mind sitting next to me.

When is the best time to visit to avoid screaming crying kids? Was considering a midweek matinee since they’d all be at school? Then the ones who are too small for school (but are definitely 4, wink, will be there). I’ve booked for the pride performance. Starts later which will hopefully put off parents and I’m sure the queens will be easier to deal with than little princesses. I'm also going to the Pride performance too but I bet the queens will be worse behaved than small children.

Fred Elliott and Ashley Peacock together was comedy gold. Oh for the old days when Corrie was good.

I have just booked for a special Pride performance of Pride on Friday 28th June @ 8pm. Not sure what the "surprises" will be but it sounds great fun and will make a camp, sparkly show even camper.

Few people in this industry will I defend with the strength I will defend Sheridan. She's a worker as she's shown in all her shows, with Funny Girl being the exception to the rule due to horrendous personal circumstances. I'm excited to see it. Agree totally. I was in the very privileged position to be working with Sheridan during the early run of Funny Girl and that woman gives 110% every night. She is a real trooper and one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is also so appreciative of her fans and went above and beyond to meet as many as she could. I do think she is going to give a brilliant performance in this musical. Really looking forward to seeing it in 2 weeks time.

Everyone knows Shirley Valentine so she had a head start there. This musical is a brand new musical and most people won't have heard of Rufus Wainwright. It's going to be a harder sell so a lot will depend on reviews and word of mouth.

Also a clip of her singing one of the songs. Thought she came over really well, but then, she always does.

Could this thread be just about the upcoming musical rather than comments about his sexual activity? Maybe a separate thread for rumours and opinions about the person which have nothing to do with the show?

Twitter last night hinted at further cast announcement and it was going to be "iconic ". This iconic cast member is Todrick Hall! Todrick who?

I've just had a Culture Insights survey about marketing materials for this show which would suggest it is transferring. Just completed the same survey and thought that it definitely felt like they are bringing it to the west end. I voted for the hour glass poster.

She was a proper disco diva early 80s which was my era so I relate more to her as a pop singer than actress. I wish I had got to see her in City Of Angels but the musical got pulled just before i was due to see it.

As mentioned by bigredapple I also noticed the bar under the stage. Asked one of the FOH staff about it as wondered if it was a VIP area. I was told it was just an extra bar in the orchestra pit as its currently not in use.

Just back from this. I only see about 1 play a year and thought it was OK. Act 1 dragged and there were very few laughs. I just kept thinking about how slow room service was for a 5 star hotel. Things picked up for act 2 and 3 which I found a lot funnier. Acting by both was excellent and glad I have seen them on stage. I was expecting a big standing ovation at the end but it didn't happen and the applause was kind but nothing more. Judging by the amount of champagne I saw being drunk around me in the dress circle I don't think there was any issue with some people paying £300 a ticket. They could certainly afford it. Luckily I paid a lot less. So that's my play for the year and I can now concentrate on the musicals.

Recognised all of them and have seen several of them either in stage or in the audience, but where is Dame Maggie?

Thanks for this! Seems to have a bit more info in it than the physical one on the day which I don't think included the song list. Much to the irritation of the elderly couple next to me who only bought it for that. 😬 Yes I was disappointed there was no song list as there is no way I could remember all the songs afterwards. I was hoping they would do the same as they did for the Sondheim Gala Concert and give you the song list as you left. I'll see if I can print off the online one and add to my programme. Edit - pleased to see the orchestra is also listed in the online programme which was also missing from the main programme (and possibly the chorus).

Simon Lipkin is great casting. A very funny actor so made for the part. He might even be able to slip in a couple of magic tricks. I think my days of trekking to Chichester are over, it's such a slog, and Lord knows if there will be any trains on the day so will wait for this to come to London.

Bet the producers are kicking themselves that they didn't wait to do a cast recording. I'd much prefer an Aaron, Sutton, Joe recording.
I saw a lovely interview just now with Joe Locke on American TV. He talks about making Patti LuPone stage door with him and her saying that no one would know who she was and then people screaming out Patti's name. He also said she is now one of his best friends. How sweet. It also talks about the fact that 2 years ago he was a schoolboy on the Isle Of Mann and now he is known around the world and on Broadway.
