Luckily the change of dates are OK for me as nothing booked as long as I get similar seats that I had booked for Palladium. It's a great cast especially Jac Yarrow as Pippin. I think he will be excellent. I remember Patricia Hodge coming to the press night of Pippin at the Menier and being told she was in the original production.

Apparently ITV have now said they are telling Marisha she has been nominated. Will be shown in tonight's programme.

How are they wrong when most people here say the same and it's flooded with one star ratings above? I'm not a Sun fan at all - but they are correct no? No. Most people on here are critical of the musical and not Sheridan. Many of the posts are praising her performance.

No point in a band if there is only 1 performer. They are really pushing it to the wire with casting if they want to shift tickets. Massive amount of seats left to sell and only 2.5 weeks until the concerts.

Can someone explain how the voting works please? As some of the shows closed before nominations announced have those who vote already seen them and does that mean they have to see every single musical and play in advance of nominations? If that makes sense. Not sure I understand the question but back in the day when I was on the panel we saw everything in the category we were supposed to. So I saw all the plays before the nominations. On one occasion though when meeting another panel member at a performance we were chatting and what we had seen and she admitted she didn’t see everything. Just her? No idea but I suspect some panel members do not see all the productions before the nominations. Thanks, I didn't explain very well but that's what I thought but wasn't sure.

Thanks BurlyBeaR for the heads up about the show being in YouTube. Just watched it and it brought back happy memories of when I went to see it at The Old Vic. Its a tour de force performance isn't it. Her comic timing is incredible. Can't believe she did 2.5 hours every night at her age and felt like she was performing it for the first time. Total legend.

Thrilled for Charlie Stemp, I really hope he gets it but shame Crazy For You didn't get nominated for revival. And didn't Hadestown only open 10 minutes ago?

The palace is a barn of a theatre with nearly 1700 (?) seats. In what way will the show be expanded, because they have only written 1 new song for the broadway production. Expanding the staging to make it bigger threatens to overshadow the small show at the centre of it.
That version of If You Came To See Me Cry sounds very hollow compared to how good it sounded at the Almedia.
The size of the Palace is a bit questionable as it has been newly renovated so who knows? The show was redeveloped and had an extensive workshop last October in NY so I doubt they would have done all of that if they were merely reproducing the Almeida production with only one new song...and the only reason we are aware of that particular change is because Jake Shears referenced what inspired him to create the new number while in CABARET. Size-wise, there is certainly room for the show to grow/expand given the subject matter (PTL and The Bakkers were hardly the last word in minimalism) but I do share your hopes that Katie is Broadway's TAMMY FAYE. I also agree that the recording sounded hollow and restrained compared to hearing it live. Would imagine/hope we will hear/see more very soon. Recording? Has this been released? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I remember that series it was called Two's Company. I may have made this up but I seem to remember that she lived in a suite at the Savoy when she was over in England making the series. I used to think that was so posh someone actually living in a hotel.

I love Drury Lane especially after the refurb. I think its the grandest theatre currently in London and you can see the love that The Lord has put into it.

At the interval for tonight's. Act One lasted an hour. It's not ad bad as I imagined so far but there have been changes I'm hearing. The ushers are saying it will finish earlier tonight because there have been cuts. Thats a good 10 minutes shorter than last night.

Bradders is in concert at Cadogan Hall. Tickets went on sale yesterday and just taken a look. Literally 2 seats left in the stalls and a handful in the gallery. Let's hope he does another one as I can't go to this one. I know it's a coincidence but I put on X last week after the Side Show concert that we needed him to do a concert but in my mind it's all down to me!

I have come to the conclusion that I didn't hate it but there was a lot I didn't like. Firstly the positives. Great cast and some fine voices. Sheridan gives a fantastic performance which is both physical and emotional especially as the subject matter is very close to home. I liked the use of screens and cameras to an extent. I know its been used a lot in the past but it is very new to me and I have only seen it once before with Sunset Boulevard so its still a novelty (but there is a downside which I will mention later). The whole cast worked their socks off with the material they had to deal with.
On the negative side the whole thing is a bit of a mess and far too long. I kind of knew what was going on but there were times when I had no idea. The opening and closing numbers I really liked but most of the rest of music was very dreary and not very tuneful. The closing number felt as if it was a last minute addition so that the audience didn't leave feeling depressed and so it just feels a bit odd. Agree there was too much use of the curtain especially in act 2. As for the cameras and screens. As I mentioned I quite liked them as it was new to me but I think it was over used and I couldn't decide whether I should be watching the whole thing on the screen or focusing on the actors themselves. Less filmed on the screen would have enabled me to concentrate of the actual actors on the stage. Although the film quality was good it seemed to change colours. Sheridan wears a purple dress which when its on the screen is a completely different colour. Also there is one point when the camera is looking down from the ceiling (no spoiler so I will be vague) but it wasn't live and was out of sync with the actor. I also don't think the wildly talked about outside the theatre scene was a waste and (if it was live) didn't add anything as you don't actually see much of the outside as the camera is very up close. Might as well just pre-record it. Sounds as if a few minutes have been cut but it was still about 2 hours 45 mins and felt much longer. Not sure what they can do now before it opens without cutting whole chunks which I doubt they will do. After the interval there were at least 10 empty seats where I was sitting in the dress circle and the 6 people (not together) next to me all left. Applause at the end was polite but there was no standing ovation which the cast must be able to see and pick up on and I feel so sorry for them, especially Sheridan who is used to standing ovations every night for her previous work. My worry is that if the reviews and sales are not good then we won't see Sheridan on the stage for a long time as she will take it to heart which she absolutely shouldn't do as she gives an amazing performance. I think Sheridan fans will be disappointed as I am sure they will be expecting something more "main stream" and this really isn't. Currently there are only programmes for sale. I asked about other merch as I wanted to get a fridge magnet but I was told there was currently nothing as they were waiting for the other items to be "signed off". Or are they holding back in case they don't need to make anything? As for my score I am going to give it a 3 as I feel the cast worked their socks off and they were excellent so its 2 stars for them and 1 for the show itself.

I'm going tonight and with an open mind but it's not boding well at the moment. I haven't told the friend I'm taking about the opinions so far and don't think I will in case she pulls out. Fortunately she doesn't follow any social media at all so she won't have a clue.

Surprised that with just over 3 weeks to go until this concert we haven't had any further cast announcements. Should we be worried?

She does a lot of concerts especially with the BBC concert orchestra and Friday Night Is Music Night (is that still running?) One thing I noticed is that she always seems to look a lot older in those concerts than she did in Side Show. I was really surprised how young she looked on Sunday.

So this has been brilliantly received. What do people who went think it should mean? Future production? On what scale for the potential audience? Bonnie & Clyde was an interesting case: Big concert >> small scale but 'West End' venue >> up to larger scale venues for Tour. I doubt it means anything. It's one of those shows that's perfect for a concert as it gives people a chance to hear the music. It had a well received shortish run at Southwark some years ago but its quite "niche" so don't see it having a revival or a London run.

That's how to do a concert! The sound was amazing and I could hear every single word crystal clear. Fantastic orchestra, choir and ensemble but the leads blew the whole thing out of the park. I knew Bradley, Trevor, Louise and Rachel were going to be superb but this was something else. Louise and Rachel were absolutely perfect together and their duets gave me goosebumps. Especially I Will Never Leave You which got a mid show standing ovation that went on for a few minutes. I thought it was really well put together and small amount of dialogue helped to explain the story really well. You could see that this concert was really well rehearsed. Its always been one of my favourite musicals even though I have only seen it once at Southwark Playhouse years ago but I love the score and there are so many really powerful songs in it. Lambert Jackson have really upped their game with the quality of their concerts and I am looking forward to their other ones in the next couple of months that I have already booked. And lastly please can Bradley Jaden do a concert as we so need this.

Currently on Amazon Prime to own for £3.99 Just watched it and what a disappointment. I loved the musical and saw it multiple times as I was working at the Menier when it was on there. Half the songs are missing in the film and many of the ones left are almost unrecognisable as they have been changed around so much. Have to say that pretty much all of the recent stage to screen musicals have left me underwhelmed, thinking especially of Jamie and Evan Hanson.

I've been doing it on and off for most of my life from helping out in an old people's home when I was a kid and, more recently, at our streets summer and Christmas street fairs. Also at my GP surgery as part if the PPG group. But the longest and, without doubt, best volunteer job I had was at a London fringe theatre where I worked for 10 years. I only stopped because they decided to have paid ushers rather than volunteers otherwise I'm sure I would still be there. It was an amazing time and, as it was a small theatre I was part of the team so got to meet all the creatives, casts and the many celebrities who came to see the shows. It was a totally different world than my 9-5 job in the public sector. I retire this year so would love to maybe go back to volunteering in a theatre or, better still, do a couple if days a week and get paid somewhere. Then I could still afford to go to the theatre which I probably wouldn't be able to do as much on a state pension.

I looked at the list and think I know 5 of the names suggested. However even the inclusion of Nikita from Strictly won't get me watching it. I'm amazed it's going on ITV 1. Thought it had been relegated to one of the minor channels years ago.

I've seen Frozen 4 times and the kids have been fine. Granted they chatter a bit but it's not disruptive and usually quite amusing. As others have said I've had far worse behaviour in shows from adults.
