Does that mean his dancing is a bit poor in the show? Maybe they should convert the floor to ice for him! I believe he zooms around on rollerskates as it's a touring production the cant ice over the stages Ohhh that would have been fun on ice!

Does anyone else think they massively overpriced this show and it would be better suited in a smaller venue?

I know it's a minor point but Jake Quickenden won Dancing on Ice not Strictly Come Dancing. Does that mean his dancing is a bit poor in the show? Maybe they should convert the floor to ice for him!

I personally couldn't care less about the Linbury, but I appreciate it is super annoying when all of the tickets go to members.

didn't have enough people to do Tick Tock if they were down Rosalie I think I once saw that as a slogan on a Japanese tourist's T-shirt. And if not, I shall be selling T-shirts with that as a slogan. Love it. Deep, and unfathomable.
ETA: No, sorry, I'm wrong. It's an old Marie Lloyd music hall number of course! tonyloco will probably have the sheet music somewhere. theatre I'm sure you saw her perform live!

Add Madam Butterfly Hoping for something with Elina Garanca, also Anita Rachvelishvili I have a feeling that Elina doesn't like the opera house much as apart form Cavalleria Rusticana last year there had been a gap of over 10 years (if my memory serves me correctly). I am so bitter that she never sang Anna Bolena at ROH with Netrebko, that looked incredible. Anita Rachvelishvili would be good too.

19/20 season announcement has been delayed until mid-May. So no announcement any time soon! Interesting...thanks for the update tw. Suggests some last minute cancellations, artist availability etc. Let's expect some "polyfiller" productions...bring on the Bohemes, Traviatas and Magic Flutes which casts a,b,c,d!!!

From that list only Parsifal interests me. Would like to see Aida or Eugene Onegin, I have never seen the ROH productions. I wouldn't recommend the current ROH Onegin production. I've seen half a dozen productions of the piece & that one was by far my least favourite. I don't mind it too much, but Eugene Onegin is a wonderful opera.
I wouldn't have thought it's likely Tchaikovsky will make an appearance in the 2019/20 season as we also had Pique Dame this year. There have been many seasons without Russian rep at all.
Aida, I was thinking about that a few days ago. Not a good production either, but probably not worth reviving.

I simply adore this opera, but I believe Kaufmann and Netrebko to be very poor casting choices in this opera. I can't wait to see Monastyrska and Eyvazov who will be sensational.

Yes, Patti was on yesterday. It was the full cast. It was my fourth visit, still as good as the first. I'm not bitter at all!

I think it depends on who the absentees are. If Rosie and Jennifer are off, there is no show, if two people are off that are covered by the same swing, there is no show. But theoretically, they could cope with five people being off, provided it's the right combination of five people. And I guess someone playing one of the main characters would have to serve drinks in Ladies who lunch in that case. Or they could get a freelance swing in for the day, fairly easy to track in a few hours I'd imagine. Are you offering your services?

Let's hope Patti starts to feel better soon.
My record of always getting understudies was once again untouched when I saw the show on Saturday afternoon.
Were the rest of the cast understudies when you saw it? No? Just Patti then? I should have said getting at least once understudy.

I think it was around late April or May last year. However, since they have aready released the cast list, I do not know why they are waiting. Whom?

I believe Don Pasquale with Bryn Terfel is also due in the next season as well as Don Giovanni with Daniel Behle.

Patti walking with evident difficulty last night at her (excellent) q-and-a at the Haymarket. Hope the spasm in her back doesn't throw a spanner into the last three weeks of a triumphant run, though from what she was saying, she has a full arsenal of medics and healers at the ready! Let's hope Patti starts to feel better soon.
