Really? It's on the original concept album and in every other version i've listened to. And its been included in every stage version I've seen. Yup, agreeing with anthony here... It was cut from the Craig Revel Horwood production.

Currently listening to the concept album of 'Aida' and realised one of my favourite songs from the album, The Messenger, isn't actually in the show anymore (at least the productions I have seen didn't include it).
Also like 'The Lady's Got Potential' from Evita. While it didn't make it to stage, it was included in the movie.
What are your favourite cut songs?

I always have bizzare dreams once I have just finished a show. The recurring one I get is that I can't find my costumes and I have to go on in the buff. (God help that audience) It never occurs to me in the dream to just go on in my normal clothes.

So after reading Daphne Du Maurier's novel I listened to the Austrian cast album today.
On a first listening I was very taken with the score. Some it is reminiscent of Maury Yeston's Titanic.
I am aware that the events behind the hindered Broadway production were as dramatic the show itself. I wonder if an English language production will ever happen. Would love to see it.

Hope Baz has more on this tonight?
Could this be a post-Strictly project for Will Young? Wasn't Alan Cumming connected at one point?
Perhaps this is the Menier Christmas show? It would certainly work better in an intimate venue to begin with at least just as the original production did.

Have booked to see 'Scrooge' at the lovely Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Also going to 'Mamma Mia' at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
Will probably go to a panto at some point; either Aladdin at the SECC with Marti Pellow or Cinderella at the King's Theatre with Gregor Fisher.
The Theatre Royal in Glasgow have The Commitments.

Thanks infofreako. I am gutted it had to be called off. This was going to be one very special evening. To hear Lea and Ruthie sing 'I Still Believe' would have been perfection.
Sadly we didn't even get through the whole of Act One before they called of f the event due to high winds. Poor Ruthie was midway through her first song, 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' and Lea Salonga didn't even get to perform at all.
Of course the organisers were correct to put health and safety first. I am still so disappointed though.
I hope the producers realise what an amazing evening they had planned and restage it again in the future in and indoor venue. Damn you British weather. 😢

Any other board members here for this event tonight?
The line up is amazing; Ruthie Henshall, Ramin Karimloo, Jon Lee, Jodie Prenger, Collabro, Claire Sweeney and ....... Lea Salonga.
Currently waiting outside to get in and can hear the soundcheck and it sounds like it is good to be one wonderful evening.

I rather embarrassed myself by screaming when an Orc decided to surprise me during the interval between Act 2 & 3. The same thing also happened the last time I saw Cats. Thought I would be safe in the circle but one of the feline creatures managed to terrify me from behind.

Ken Hill's version of 'The Phantom Of The Opera' took music from various operas.

Not sure if this counts, but La Traviata and Marguerite (the short-lived musical with Ruthie Henshall) both have the same source, "La Dame aux Camelias" by Alexandre Dumas. Except that Verdi re-named his heroine Violetta. Germany did a rock opera called Tosca, based on the opera. No idea if it was any good though. Moulin Rouge is also based on the same material.

So this is too much like Sophie's choice for me. I couldn't choose a top 10, let alone a top 5. So I am cheating and here are my top 20, in no particular order. Even 20 was a tough decision.

Anyone able to tell me if Ben and Nadim are scheduled to perform this evening. Currently on the train to London and planning to head straight to TKTS.
Also planning to see 'The Go Between' this afternoon. Is Michael Crawford on?

I assume it will be an original score rather than Juke box. If so I wonder who the creative team are?

Hoping to revisit this next week when I am in London. Would like to see Ben's take on the phantom? Does anyone know if he has any scheduled performances off or holidays then?

I see that this has now been made available to amateur companies. Already 2 productions announced in Glasgow area. You wait ages for a bus and 2 come along at once.

Would be happy with even an off-West end production of some of these. Also hope that Regents Park revive Evita one year.

Saw this last night and it is a beautiful production. Well worth checking out if you are in the area.
I will definitely be going back for another visit.

I wonder if it is the date and time the tracks were laid down in the studio. I assume V is for vocals.

It needs to be someone quirky and not conventionally attractive. Jodie Prenger for example. - but she isn't a big enough name. Kerry Ellis? No. Natalie Casey? Maybe but still not big enough. I did wonder if this would tour following its West End run with someone like Natalie.
