Just booked a ticket for my New York trip in early September. So looking forward to it, but it's still six months... hopefully I can avoid most spoilers till then - and the temptation of listening to the cast recording, which is already pre-ordered.

Xanadu needs to return, and Beauty and the Beast would be nice, too.
And I second Memphis.

(speaking as an audience member) If only it were just weeks or months - I still miss Memphis dearly.

Are you not down with the kids Michael? It's modern day slang, innit. Bae = Before Anyone Else. Thanks, that makes much more sense. The only meaning I found was Danish for poop: en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/bæ

We need comparative bar charts and comprehensive riff breakdowns! Don’t forget the even more important baa charts for every Dillamond riff there is.

Georgina Hagen? The pretty but naïve one? The perky-breasted, giggly one night stand? Who looks good in tight jeans? Who was put here to be stared at? Who’s pretty good at being pretty? And who’d rather be up dancing than sat against a wall?
Great choice. If they announce another English language performance, I’m there in a heartbeat.

Enjoy! I'm not seeing the tour until late April in Birmingham - I'm currently taking a bit of an extended Wicked hiatus. Haven't seen the show since Willemijn's last two shows.

I’ve never seen a double Standby show or an U/S Standby show come to think of it.... They’re like witch switches and no fly shows! Had both of these as well. Ashleigh took over in the interval when Willemijn was too sick to continue, and Nikki had a no-fly show on tour in Manchester - that was one of the best DG I ever heard.

Must ... resist ... temptation ... to ... add ... "riff" ... to ... list ... of ... blocked ... words. And auto-replace it with ... screech?

Emma and Savannah leaving brought many blessings indeed! I am still not quite over the glowstick incident however, whoever thought that was a good idea really needs a good long think. My favourite was the Mexican Wave when Dillamond first appeared on stage in his 100th show. I've been at the (a?) glowstick show, but please tell me that you've made this mexican wave thingy up.

If I'm not mistaken the midwife isn't even a part that credited in the programme (I'll check when I get home). No idea why the midwife is credited on the cast board. Midwife is mentioned in the programme, alongside Witch's Father and Witch's Mother.

At last! I began to think I was the only one here to have seen any of this trilogy - or at least, to admit to it. My local cinemas were only showing the German version - no way José - so I had to wait until I'm back in London. Now that the trilogy has ended, I think it's time for a Pitch Perfect Musical

Since there are no Matinees today, I finally saw Pitch Perfect 3 today and had the whole cinema for myself - no latecomers, no talkers, no popcorn munchers - couldn't have been any better.
And yes, I agree with everything showgirl has said above. Preposterous plot, but I still enjoyed it, despite this being the worst of the three films. Nevertheless, I think it's good that they've ended the series.

Theatre-wise, last year wasn't a particularly good year with only 39 visits, an all-time low compared to 70 in 2016 and even 107 in 2014.
Of these 39 visits, 22 were in the UK, 12 in the US and 4 in Germany (in my defence, two of those were the International tours of Evita and Billy Elliot).
New shows were Love Story, In Transit, Lizzie, Schikaneder, Wedding Singer, Evita, Band Stand, Come From Away, Bat Out Of Hell, Big Fish and Everybody's Talking About Jamie.
Shows I didn't like and wish I had left at the interval were Love Story and Lizzie (at least I finally got to see Eden Espinosa on stage), and the highlights were In Transit, Band Stand, Bat Out Of Hell and A Bronx Tale.
2018 seems to become even less busy with theatre going. I've only booked two trips to London so far (one in March and one in June - in the good old times it was at least one trip per month) and yet I don't know how to fill them, as there are almost no shows that interest me. Even my usual longrunners have put me off with their unoriginal casting decisions. I do hope that Bat Out Of Hell extends, though, and that the rumours of a new Rock of Ages tour are true.

I like to have a proper ticket for my collection, so box office collection it is - most theatres don't post tickets internationally. I just wish my family name would be easier to understand for British ears (those German double vowels...) as I always have to spell it out - or just hand them the credit card. I'm usually too lazy to print all the confirmation mails.

I had booked a ticket for Friday, 16th March and just got an eMail from ATG telling me that my performance has been cancelled; the first show will now be on the 29th March. Let's see if I can exchange my ticket for early June as I won't be in London between March and then...

She needs a press secretary like Donald Trump has: someone who can respond with "Yes, she may have said 'Everyone who doesn't worship me should die in a ditch' but what she meant was ..." Sean Spicer should be available...

Everybody's talking about Jamie has a 7.30pm performance on NYE, and quite a few shows should at least have an afternoon performance, e.g. School of Rock (2pm) and Matilda (3pm). Our very own @theatremonkey has all the information you want on his web site: theatremonkey.com/daybydayindex.htm#HOLEdit: Just seen the headline and that you're specifically asking about Plays. Just ignore my recommendations above and browse TM's web site.
